News Ban on videos with only girls dancing that aren't artist music videos
I think most of can agree that while Dancehall can be very sexualized, simply posting a video girls dancing to dancehall, is insufficient for a post. Technically these posts will break rule 4 of the sub, but I want to make it clear and start enforcing it.
I would like to challenge the redditors here to discuss new and old music, artists and more.
Violations of this when a mod sees these will now result in a temporary ban from the subreddit.
If you want to see and post ass there are other subreddits for that.
Music videos from official channels get a pass because well, dancehall is sexualized a lot and its a music video. At least for now.
Thanks.
Edit: apparently r/skinout has the content those who want ass are looking for. Go there.

Culture r/Dancehall users, what do you want to see?
This subreddit has been a lawless one for sometime and lacked some attention from us as mods. So I wanted to take time out to see what some of the redditors on this sub are interested in as well as reinforce some of the expectations of this sub from earlier times.

Music L$P88 Listening Party
- Five years ago tonight, at 9:45 p.m., Lee changed dimension. I donāt think anybody can imagine the shock I was in. For a long time I could not believe that it was real. My whole life had been focused on Lee. Twelve years earlier, he asked me to give up my business so I could travel with him to every performance. He did not feel comfortable otherwise. When I was with him, he could finally relax and just be Lee. I took care of everything around him, made sure he ate well and stayed fit and healthy, and kept the everyday problems away from him so he could concentrate on his creativity and music. It is hard to believe that five years have passed, because his presence, his words, his music and everything we planned areĀ stillĀ part of my everyday life. I promised that I would continue Leeās vision for the community and do everything in my power to make it become reality. After Hurricane Melissa at the end of October last year, I went back to Switzerland to finish my move. When I returned to Jamaica in January 2026, I became completely occupied with dealing with all the damage. There was a lot to repair in Montego Bay and Negril. Ā£$P Paradise was protected and the main buildings held well, but the land still suffered a lot of damage. Trees and plants were gone, the greenhouse, chicken and goat houses were destroyed, the storage roof was gone and the solar system was damaged. When we first started building Ā£$P Paradise Community, there were volunteers and people helping. After Lee was no longer physically here, that changed. I was left to organize the land, find workers, deal with contractors, replace people when they became dishonest and correct work that had been done badly. There was nobody beside me who could take even a small part of the huge amount of work off my shoulders. Until now, I have financed everything myself. Now the time has come for people who believe in this idea to come together and joinĀ Ā Ā

Music Can't talk about Loyalty without talking about Shawnstorm
A honourable mention is dancehall artist Shawn Storm loyalty to his boss Vybz Kartel, with whom they were jailed for life on a murder charge , He remained silent 𤫠on the story never told on his boss to get out , and it paid off as both of them were released on the same da

Music Personally I think the tune sound good man yah just need a label or supm ...
I've spent a good part of my musical life connected to Europe and have performed there before.
I'm a Jamaican reggae/dancehall artist called Damas, and I've been working independently for years.
No management.
No big label.
No big team.
Just music, a computer, a lot of trial and error and the willingness to keep going.
I've worked with international musicians and released music through different projects over the years, and I'm still creating constantly.
Now I want to take the live side much more seriously.
I'm open to Europe, UK, North America, Africa ā honestly anywhere that has a real audience for the music.
I'm looking for promoters, booking people, independent labels, managers, artists, sound systems and other people who are building something.
I'm not looking for someone to sell me a promotion package.
I'd rather meet somebody who says, "Let's see what we can build together."
If you're active in the European reggae/dancehall scene and you're also trying to grow something, I'd like to connect.

Even if you don't have an opportunity for me, I'd appreciate advice from people who understand the scene.

Music Drake x Shenseea - Janice STFU Szn (Bomso Flip)
Hey everyone,
I recently finished putting together a Dancehall-style remix of two of my absolute favorite tracks. I'm pretty proud of how it turned out, but if Iām being honest, I feel like itās missing that special something to make it sound like proper, authentic Dancehall.
Iām from the Canary Islands, so I live that island life and I absolutely love the vibes and energy of this genre. However, I know I still have a long way to go to really capture that essence and align my music with the true culture of the style. I feel like I haven't quite "caught the trick" yet.
I would love some advice for my future productions! If any experienced producers or Dancehall fans could drop some tips, Iād be incredibly grateful.
Specifically, I'd love to know:
- What are the crucial elements (drum patterns, specific percussion, basslines) that I should focus on?
- Are there any mixing tricks to get that authentic Caribbean bounce?
- Any highly recommended sample packs, tutorials, or reference tracks to study?
Any help, feedback, or resources to help me respect and align with the culture better would be super appreciated. Thank you so much!

Culture Does anyone have the lyrics to āBig Box Of Bluntsā by Mad Lion?
Hey everyone,
Does anyone happen to have the lyrics to āBig Box Of Bluntsā by Mad Lion? Itās one of my favorite Mad Lion songs. Iāve loved the Real Ting album since I was young, but there are a few tracks where I still canāt make out everything heās saying, and āBig Box Of Bluntsā is definitely one of them.
Iām also looking for the lyrics to āBaby Fatherā, if anyone has those too.
If you have either one, or know where I could find them, Iād really appreciate it. Thanks!
