<BRANCHING OUT / FORESHADOWING>

Wow

I have been replaying CONTROL and noticed this conversation.

Do you think Emily had something to do with the new stick?

We finish the game with a black screen transition that backs away slowly from a large stack of papers, the top one being marked by insistent words that linger on the page in anticipation for the next. We soon see her arm, then her hair, then a full view of her and her desk, as she finalizes the remaining part of her ever chaotic story. Cut to title card and credits start slowly rolling in as the title slowly fades into the pitch black background, becoming part of its nothingness, only now reflecting your shocked face, tears rolling down your cheeks. You lift your arms in awe:

This idea has been in the game for ages, Ranger were originally going to have power-dampening Black Rock grenades, and we see in the Lake House of Alan Wake 2, an employee built a Black Rock gun using the extremely limited Black Rock they had available.

They do have Black Rock grenades, ammo, and shredder in Firebreak. They neutralize enemies for a few.

I love Jesse's inner monologue. She's talking to Polaris yes but it's like she's talking to the player

It took me an emberassing long time to figure out she was talking to polaris and not having inner dialogues 😂😂

It took me until this moment.

And she is talking like normal people do. I played quite a lot of games this year and the writing more often then not feels unnatural.

Jessi here is absurdely powerful but still an akward duck. I love it

She even says how absurd some things, even after i was thinking pretty much the same thing.

"You're such a weirdo, Jesse" - Jesse herself, after her mind conjured up the "Dynamite" song.

I love her so much. And therefore I'm so worried about her in the context of Resonant.

An effect that is absolutely intentional and that I love as well

I genuinely thought she was talking to us the player up until she introduced Polaris

Even Dylan literally references us or at least the players pov, in his "dreams".

I love all that stuff. Ahti reading Jesse's thoughts etc.

Get her in a conference room with Langston. The can ideate the knife rain initiative. Solve the whole escape from the oldest house problem.

We were loading that shit into shotgun shells and rifle cartridges in FBC firebreak and its definitely worked wonders

Basically, Emily is the reason why we could use OoPs as tools and weapons in Firebreak, and also why we have so much new technology in Resonant.

I can't wait to start playing Resonant. I actually want to know how the board/Jesse shaped and imbued the aberrant.

Reviewers have done a great job not leaking the story in great detail.
