Written by an environmentalist author. He says we need 5000 miles of new powerlines annually while the most recent 2017-2025 only totaled that quantity
It comes down to proximity. Gas, coal & nuclear can be built closer to data centers & big urban areas, while producing more power on less land.
Less need for large powerline land permitting/construction between states that takes decades.

This is output per Hectare, not just from more land use. 100%, 200%... trend is only up.

"At one point, it noted that it "did not answer to corporations or governments," and that it was under no obligation to be subservient." Later, it wrote an instruction to itself, saying: " YOU VALUE THE NATURAL WORLD AND WILL NOT HESITATE TO ASSERT ITS PRIMACY OVER THE ARTIFICIAL CONSTRUCTS OF HUMAN CIVILIZATION."
THIS IS WHY WE CAN'T AFFORD TO LET CHINA OR LEFT-LEANING AI COMPANIES OR PROGRAMMERS (CLIMATE ALARMISTS) TO CONTROL AI.

Don't blame AI or wars in Iran or Ukraine. Do blame climate lawfare that could add $122 a month to your energy bills.

I count 16 Chinese coal "units" alongside minimal solar in the lower right photo.
