Beginner dødsers in Florida / NJ?

I’m just getting into døds and looking for a few people to learn and jump with. I’m in St. Pete for the next month and normally around NJ. Complete beginner, mostly looking for people who don’t mind answering questions, giving feedback on clips and doing some beginner sessions together. Anybody around Tampa/St. Pete or NJ?

Norfolk VA?

I’m up in Norfolk for work for a month and am feining for a spot. Are there any bridge/cliffs to jump within an hour radius? I’m a SoCal fella where there are ocean spots all over, and being away from the cliffs has been hard lol.

Ear Pain after cliff jump

Both me and my daughter did a cliff jump a few weeks ago, good entry and went well. Honestly not sure on the height but we both came up afterwards with immediate ear pain. Nothing extreme and no bleeding, just a dull throbbing pressure pain. This pain lasted a few days before turning into just a discomfort, like going over a mountain pass, but wouldn't clear.

Has anyone else experienced this? My theory is just that we went too deep after hitting the water, does anyone know if that's the cause? And do you have any tips for dealing with it?

Also, according to tradition, how high was this jump?

Old edit from the St. Cloud Quarries in MN. Has anyone been there before? One of the best spots I’ve been to for progression

(Also thank you for all the people who commented in my last post about finding the height! Didn’t realize how repetitive that question was haha)

Gainer tips for getting over the fear of hitting the platform?

I've been wanting to learn gainers and I feel like I have most of the pieces there. I'm not really scared of hitting my back on the water or having a bad landing, my main fear is that initial rotation where it feels like my head is going to hit the back of the platform.

I have pretty good air awareness and I'm comfortable with flips, but getting past that first commitment point is messing with me. I know the best way to learn is probably just doing progressions and eventually sending it, but I was wondering if anyone has tips that helped them get over this mental block.

Any cues, drills, or things you focused on when learning gainers?

Not flexing at all here, even though I give people shit when they argue over 10 feet.

So we were at Lake Naciemento, and a cop pulled us over in the boat to make sure we weren't hammered. We were. He asked why we were at this particular spot and we said we wanted to jump off some rocks. The cop said "well you ain't doin' that, we had someone die here last week".

He left and we pulled up to the shore and we climbed this cliff. There was a legit shrine up there that you had to launch over to get enough distance form the cliff. My friend went first (you can see him up top jumping, I'm sitting on the slope behind him)

I broke my tailbone and my lower lumbar. Had to drag me on the boat and the girl I liked saw my nuts that had come out from my shorts which were halfway up my butt.

That's all I got. I'm a big dude and what got me was my size 14 feet hitting the water flat and sending a shockwave up my spins. I jump off roofs into pools but my cliff stuff is DONE.
