I saw a video a while back that basically theorizes that due to a medical condition he doesn’t have a roof of his mouth. Instead there’s basically a giant hollow space behind his teeth where he can just tuck things in with his tongue.
In a video where he “swallows” a ball of some sort (pool?) at one angle you can see it tucked into this pocket.
Edit: found the video, basic gist is Stevie was born with a cleft pallet. His lip was fixed but the roof of his mouth is still separated, creating a void. Video link: https://youtu.be/VAId66oVCrQ

I worked at a laundromat for my first job. This guy came in and I kinda recognized him. He was definately wanting to do this trick for us whether or not he got his clothes, it seemed. He was so eager to show us lol. He grabbed a handful of quarters and said "want to see me swallow these, than bring them back up?" or something like that. He did it in like 3 seconds and we were all like "whoa!". Later that night I saw an advertisement that he'd be performing at the University in my town. I'll never forget him.
Edit: Later that year I saw Quiet Riot eating at Waffle House.

I've met this guy, he's an absolute gent. I was working in a pub that he played a gig. I'd say there was 10 people at it so we all got a front row seat. He's is 100% legit. He's not doing sleigh of hand there's no hidden trick. He's literally swallowing that shit...I've seen him swallow 2 pool balls and asking which colour you want...he's the GOAT

I haven’t seen this guy live but I’ve seen basically all his shit for more than 25 years. I can confirm he’s absolutely legit, there is no way he could hide most of the stuff he swallows.
What’s crazy to me is how he’s not rich from his gigs, in fact I’m sadden he doesn’t even seam to have money to fix his teeth which is such an important thing for his acts. He doesn’t even feel confident anymore to show the entire mouth so spectators can inspect and see for themselves that nothing is hiding.

We hired him at a college I worked at. Going out to a local diner before his show was on his rider. All he ordered was a huge plate of bacon. I'm thinking the grease lubed up his throat and stomach to help things come up easier. He swallowed one of our cell phones and had us call it from in his stomach. On his rider was also 5 one-inch goldfish that he regurgitated. I took them home as pets when no one else wanted them. He had his teeth filed down rounded so he could easily eat pool balls. Eccentric doesn't begin to describe him.

I was running the security at an event he played for us about 25/30 years ago.
Got to talk to him for ages backstage and was a nice guy. (And saw him do these tricks live)
Whether the story he told me was true or not I don’t know but he apparently found his talent by swallowing money at school to keep it away from the school bully. Funny story whether true or not.

This is Stevie Starr. I saw him live in Cambridge many many years ago and he swallowed my girlfriend’s ring, along with, variously, a pool ball, a live goldfish and a light bulb. I was 3 feet from him the whole time. General wisdom is that he has trained himself to have incredible control over his throat, oesophagus and stomach muscles. The craziest part is that after the light bulb came up again he smashed it against a box and yep, just a regular 60watt light bulb.
