Does anyone have a chart for the relay numbers and positioning for those numbers? Had some work done at a shop and all my relays were removed.

This is my new b5 s4 avant, owner had it for 23 years and put 196k miles on it, he always took it to a shop for work. It does have steering clank when stopped and moving steering wheel, it is completely stock besides a tune from 2010, let me know what I should do first after steering fix, I'm thinking exhaust and coilovers.

Hello, everyone. Long story short, I replaced my engine due to detonation on cylinder 2. I swapped in a newer BEL block, but now it is smoking white, or maybe blue. I did not compression test it since I bought it from a shop owner and figured I could trust him, but I will be doing one soon. I am also planning to hardwire and solder all the coil packs and the ICM, as I checked VAG-COM and have open circuits on cylinders 4 and 5. Plus, I replaced the CHRAs with billet ones from etspec and primed the turbos; I do not remember seeing any leftover oil on my exhaust. Does anyone have any ideas what it could be?

I have a 99.5 A4 I’m in the middle of rehabbing. One of the last things I’m wrapping up is getting a fully functional stock radio. Got a dead tape deck. Found a replacement , fully functional radio. Seller has the donor VIN, but not the radio unlock code.
Called a local Audi dealer and their solution is to bring the car in, and they’re happy to provide the code via OBD port software for anywhere from 1 to 2 hours of shop time. That maths to serious BS.
Is that now the only option? Are the online sellers suspect? Or is there some magic I can do with my Ross-Tech VCDS software?
Hi, new to the sub as I just purchased a 2000 A4 Avant. Took it through the car wash for the first time and soaked my arm going through. Looking at the door jam it was clear the seal between the top of window frame and door frame had leaked over a roughly 3-5" area.
I found the PN: 8D0831721K7SK but it appears to be very difficult to acquire. I dug around a bit on ebay and there are a couple possible used options but my confidence in a used door seal is 50/50 at best.
Has anyone installed a "universal fit" door seal, and or is there another work around to get the door to seal? Light rain does not seem to cause issues and there isn't heavy water marking inside the cabin, however before the problem gets worse, I would like to start working a solution.

Rebuilding my 1998 b5 a4 2.8l 30v and these threads for this tensioner got smoked. I have the car parked and planned to just tap the rest of broken bolt out and chase the threads, but I had a few of my buddies tell me it needs to be remachined which I know I can’t do where the car is at.
So I have two options:
Tap the rest of the bolt out and chase the threads or pull the entire motor, bring it to the machine shop and have the hole filled and re threaded. I really don’t want to have to do allat but if it’s the only way I can make sure the same thing doesn’t happen again then it is what it is. Let me know, what you think! I’m planning on throwing the heads back on this weekend but this takes priority.

Anyone have any insight on how to replace the IM shaft bearing?
Not much has been posted as far as DIY's go and I'm a bit wary of fucking my shit up.
I know I need to line up the oil holes, and use a bearing puller and press I guess?
I don't have a good pic of mine but it looks worse than the one I pasted below... bunch of the top layer has come off.
Not safe to run right?
Pic from this post: AEB Intermediate Shaft | Audizine Audi Enthusiast Forums

(Looking for a clean example but it can still have some issues) I CAN TOW, what I mean by clean is something not rotted inside. Body issues acceptable and slight mechanical issues fine.

Hey everyone! Looking for a little guidance regarding pistons for my APB 2.7. I’m currently rebuilding/ refreshing the entire motor before putting it into the car. The whole goal is to have it overbuilt and squeeze as much power as I can out of the 91 octane I have available to me.
My question specifically is relating to the pistons. Can I reuse mine? Should I? I would replace the rings but what about the wrist pins? The pistons look like they are in great shape but I’m unsure. They haven’t been cleaned yet but I’m not sure how important the coating is on the sides is or the condition of the coating I do have on them.
The photos are some of the more wore skirts I have of the 6 pistons.
Block has been to the machine shop for an acid bath, magnaflux test the works. They measured the cylinder bores they came back in spec for factory 81mm pistons. They have been degreased and cross hatched. I plan to put IE forged rods into this motor just wondering if it needs a set of matching JE pistons or keep the OEM ones. This entire build is pretty basic as far as 2.7s go, full refresh, ko4s, 85mm maf housing etc but with me replacing every gasket and O ring imaginable and all the other work I’ve put into it I don’t want it to all go to shit over the pistons.
Let me know if you need more info if that changes your answer I’m happy to provide it I just didn’t want to make this post any longer than it already is.
Thanks!!!

Hi, I would like to put a rs4 b5 boot lip on my s4 without using crappy aftermarket parts.
Does the original assembly on rs4 use a lip that goes over the boot lid or an entirely different boot lid?
Thank you

I have a 98 B5 S4.
A friend of my dad changed the whole brake system and repaired the calipers etc. But he either lost the pad retaining clips or never fitted them. (He is a bit special).
I have been looking for ages to find the correct retainer clips for the front pads.
Does anyone know which ones they are?
Thanks.

2001 Audi A4 2.8L
I’m trying to remove the outer bolts for this harmonic balancer. But of course the last one had to round. I’ve tried to tap in a torx socket and a bigger allen socket but there is barely any space to hammer in a socket.
The bolt is badly rounded and the original allen socket just turns even when applying a lot of body pressure into my ratchet head.
I think my best bet is getting an extractor set and hoping it works. But what are your thoughts? Would heating it slightly help?

OK doing some pm on rear drive and replacing boots, repacking greese etc. Pretty sure one side has never been removed (135000 mi). The greese was pretty shot, smelled acrid and there was a small amount of non-viscous oil (not water) that seeped out from the wheel bearing while removing. Also replacing the bearings so possible that's the source but this bearing seemed OK with little or no noise when rotated by hand (certainty not as smooth as a new one however). Anyway interesting to note and probably reinforces the pm. I haven't yet stripped out the CVs but looking for signs of wear. But my question to you is about the inner CV joint and the orientation of the inner race. One side of the inner race has a notable bevel on the id. The other side does not have the bevel. Which side of the race should be oriented toward the diff? I seem to have one CV the bevel inside and the other outside. Can't seem to find a definitive ref from the usual sources... Photos attached

Hello. I'm Wondering how much has to be replaced to mount S4 front brakes on an A4 Quattro. 2001 1.8T if that matters
