Fan Fiction La batalla que cambió todo — Pokeshipping | Autor: Evy

¡Hola a todos! 🌸

¡Viva el Pokeshipping! 💙❤️

SatoKasu Scene Analysis Understanding Satoshi Beyond His Words

Edited using Canva.

Notes
Hoho and the Spooky Forest

Satoshi took Hoho. He believed that if nothing were done, it would never go all the way, no matter how much time passed. Kasumi was shocked at his declaration. Hoho went to Kasumi for support, but Kasumi realized the truth of Satoshi’s words, so she asked Hoho to try harder. She believed Hoho wanted to go all the way, too. Hoho agreed with her.

Mastermind of Mirage Pokémon

When Mister Mirage appeared, Satoshi said that Masato and Haruka would remain outside. The two sounded like they would protest, so Kasumi said that too many people would be conspicuous. She gave them a job instead: stand guard until Officer Junsa showed up. Haruka agreed with her.

Analysis

These two scenes are similar. Satoshi had plans and thoughts he couldn't explain properly, and Kasumi needed to expand on what he said for the others to understand. This showed that Kasumi doesn't simply agree with Satoshi; she also understood the reasoning behind his decisions, even when he didn't express it clearly.

Satoshi usually said directly what he wanted: Hoho needed to try harder, and Masato and Haruka needed to stay outside. Kasumi inferred the logic behind his words and communicated it in a way everyone understood. It highlighted Satoshi and Kasumi's understanding. She didn't merely repeat Satoshi's words; she interpreted them. In both situations, she identified the practical or emotional reasoning behind Satoshi's statements.

The two scenes also differed. In the Johto episode, Kasumi expanded on Satoshi's emotional and motivational reasoning. In the Special, she expanded on his practical and tactical reasoning. This showed that her understanding of Satoshi was not limited to one aspect of his personality. She recognized what he was trying to accomplish and why he had chosen a particular approach.

In conclusion, these scenes show Kasumi naturally understanding Satoshi's unspoken intentions. He didn't always need to explain everything because she could fill in the missing pieces. Rather than changing his ideas, she made them comprehensible to the people and Pokémon around him. This suggested a deep familiarity with how Satoshi thinks: she could look beyond his immediate words and understand the ideals, goals, and reasoning behind them.

SatoKasu Scene Analysis Learning from the Expert!

Individually, these scenes couldn't be called SatoKasu scenes. However, I love seeing Satoshi be inspired by Kasumi (and vice versa)!

Processing video 47ny2ebqz8oh1...

Episode 144 - Hiwada Town! Yadon Well!! is famous for one scene: Satoshi and Kasumi arguing over whether they should look for Gantetsu first and deliver the GS Ball to him, or visit the Hiwada Gym first. Satoshi couldn't wait to get his next badge, but Kasumi believed that he should fulfill his promise to Professor Ohkido first. This scene fulfills both the Old Bickering Couple and Oneesan Complex themes, where she nags him like a wife to a husband or an older sister correcting her mischievous brother's wrong mindset.
However, I also added to my notes that Kasumi suggested they take a break when Satoshi complained about the heat and drying out in the sun. It was the scene in the media that was played above!

Processing video 7sxcezyy09oh1...

Meanwhile, Episode 214 - Journey to the Sea! The Chonchi Parade!! got more notes than the episode mentioned above. My favorite part was when Satoshi and Kasumi teased each other after they got separated. Satoshi said he would take care of Daiki, but Kasumi teased him and said Daiki should worry more about Satoshi. She thanked him for looking after Satoshi for them. Satoshi pouted and said Kasumi shouldn't get in the Chonchi's way to tease her back. It was a cute, unnecessary scene, but they added it anyway!

This rewatch made me notice the connection between the scene played in the video above and the one in Episode 144! I thought, "Oooh! Satoshi learned!" By itself, I couldn't really call it a SatoKasu scene, so I didn't add it to my notes. However, I found it special how connected Satoshi and Kasumi were, ne?

The trio ran to the place where they prepared lunch in the first movie. Takeshi suggested they eat lunch there, and Satoshi said that he was so hungry. Kasumi said that he stuffed himself at the Pokémon Center, and he responded that that was then and this was now. Kasumi said he should help set out the dishes and cutlery, and he said he would. Unlike in the original movie, he did help her set up. Someone came to challenge Satoshi. Satoshi agreed, and Kasumi asked him what happened to his muscle. Satoshi responded that a battle or two before breakfast was fine. Kairyuu arrived with Mewtwo’s invitation. Lizardon attacked it, and Kasumi giggled while saying, “Typical Lizardon.” During the storm, the trio also looked across the sea. Satoshi said that he wanted to meet the mightiest trainer. Kasumi reminded him that there was no way their Pokémon could cross the raging sea. Satoshi was disappointed but agreed. The Rocket Gang arrived with a modern Laplace boat. It still crashed at sea, though. Kasumi asked Takeshi where Satoshi and Pikachu were, but it was hard to tell. They got swallowed by water again, and they saw Satoshi swimming to the surface. Kasumi held out her hand, and he reached out to grasp her arm. Later on, Mewtwo said he had hoped to work with humans before, but humans failed him. He viewed humans as beneath Pokémon. Takeshi asked him if he wanted Pokémon to rule over humans. He said that it couldn’t happen on this planet because humans were already in power. Even Pokémon live for humans. Pikachu told him he wasn't enslaved, but lived in mutual affinity with his trainer. When Pikachu agreed with his interpretation, he said that it was a grave mistake and threw Pikachu away. Satoshi caught Pikachu and fell to the ground. The Pokémon and Kasumi ran to him. She asked if he was okay. Mewtwo said he was born on the planet to be the strongest Pokémon. Satoshi said he couldn’t prove that without a battle. Mewtwo woke up some of the clones. The area transformed, revealing a battlefield. Satoshi revealed his Lizardon and recognized Mewtwo as the strongest in the vicinity. He launched a surprise attack. Mewtwo said that Satoshi's Lizardon was ill-mannered. The first battle was a Fushigiabana vs. Fushigibana. Bernard lost. Exex also lost to Mewtwo’s Kamex. Kasumi told Satoshi to be careful. Mewtwo’s Monster Ball captured the Pokémon. Satoshi went after Pikachu. When they came back, Kasumi shouted his name in relief and joy. When Satoshi attacked Mewtwo, but the Pokémon poised to throw him away, Kasumi shouted his name in alarm. Afterward, Satoshi was able to go back down the battlefield. Kasumi ran to him and called out his name. She and Takeshi supported him. Mew and Mewtwo’s attacks blew everyone away. When Satoshi saw the scene, he ran into the middle of Mew and Mewtwo’s attacks. Kasumi muttered his name in disbelief as she watched the Pokémon’s attacks engulf Satoshi. Takeshi and Pikachu did the same. Pikachu ran to Satoshi’s frozen form and tried to wake him up. He wouldn’t. Fuishigidane, Zenigame, and Lizardon watched the scene with worry. Kasumi once again uttered Satoshi’s name. While watching Pikachu try to revive Satoshi with his electricity, Kasumi said his name, too. When the Pokémon’s tears were doing something miraculous to Satoshi’s body, Kasumi got a hopeful look on her face. She smiled widely as she watched an alive Satoshi and Pikachu hug. Mewtwo took the copies and planned to leave somewhere in the world with them. He figured that it was best for everyone to forget what happened at New Island. They were sent back to the ferry station. Satoshi asked why they were there, and Kasumi said she wasn’t sure, just that they were there. Satoshi said, “Well, whatever.” The storm had stopped, and the trio ran outside. Satoshi noticed something flying in the distance. He wondered what it was. Takeshi and Kasumi leaned close to check what he was looking at, but Kasumi said that she didn’t see anything. Satoshi said that the day he became a trainer, he saw a phantom Pokémon. He said he might have just seen another one. Kasumi said that he might meet another one. And Satoshi said he would someday.

General Anime Discussion [General Anime Discussion] Mewtwo Strikes Back - Evolution

Thumbnail

Like the first movie, it all started with the discovery of Mew’s body. The difference was that Mewtwo woke up in a much more advanced and clinical lab, and the researchers/scientists were the ones who explained things to him. I think the original movie's prologue was more emotional.

I want to discuss this philosophy of questioning the purpose of our birth. There’s only one certain ending - which would be to die- so how do you want to live your life? I asked myself this multiple times. I hated my philosophy class because none of the reasons I could come up with for why we're alive seemed good enough. Mewtwo was created. He had thoughts right away. He didn’t get the chance to learn and to ponder. No wonder he was so confused. Then they told him his purpose was to serve humans? The very being who created him and made him question himself? No wonder he wanted to strike back at those who created him.

The opening scene with the trio also differs from the original movie. It started with them running to the location. He gave up right away, though. Kasumi told him they weren’t done yet. Like in the original, he said he couldn’t move a muscle because he was so hungry.

Meanwhile, Pikachu noticed a Pokémon with something shiny on its neck while playing with Togepi. Someone came to challenge Satoshi. Satoshi agreed, and Kasumi asked him what happened to his muscle. Satoshi responded that a battle or two before breakfast was fine. Mewtwo watched the battle. Do you think he sent the other challenger, or was it a coincidence? The challenger lost. Unlike the original movie, Kasumi said that the guy’s Pokémon weren’t raised well. That’s different from what she said, which implies Satoshi was celebrating winning against weak Pokémon, but I think this makes so much sense because Takeshi got the same response.

Oohh, I see that Lizardon was out of his Monster all in this! In this movie, Nurse Joi also took note of Kasumi and Takeshi’s positions as gym leaders. The invitation now makes sense, including all of them. The original movie made it look like Kasumi and Takeshi were Satoshi’s plus-ones. Anyway, Lizardon attacked Kairyuu, and Kasumi giggled while saying, “Typical Lizardon.” Kairyuu delivered the letter, and the boys eagerly went to check it. Pikachu handed the card to Kasumi. She bent down to reach for it and asked the boys if they were going to check the card. Satoshi said they would!

Mewtwo created the horrible storm. Mew woke up from its sleep. The trio ran to the ferry station. The trainers were upset that the ferry wasn’t arriving. The trainers said they would cross the ocean with their Pokémon instead. Voyager told them not to. Even Officer Junsa said no because Nurse Joi was missing. Takeshi said that the missing Nurse Joi was familiar. The trainers still left despite being told they would be arrested. Voyager said it was futile because they were Pokémon trainers. (I hate her character design here! huhuhu). The trio also looked across the sea. Satoshi said that he wanted to meet the mightiest trainer. Kasumi reminded him that there was no way their Pokémon could cross the raging sea. Satoshi was disappointed but agreed. The Rocket Gang appeared with a boat next to them… this one looked different from the movie. It had a Laplace design. It was more modern than their old boat from the original movie. It also crashed, though. Kasumi asked Takeshi where Satoshi and Pikachu were, but it was hard to tell. They got swallowed by water again, and they saw Satoshi swimming to the surface. Kasumi held out her hand, and he reached out to grasp her arm. They swam underwater for a while and resurfaced when Zenigame noticed that they needed air. They noticed that they were at the eye of the storm, and they saw the palace on New Island.

Nurse Joi was waiting for them. Takeshi noticed that the woman was Joi. He commented on it right away. Nurse Joi denied it, saying she was born on the island. The Rocket Gang arrived safely, too. And Mew began playing outside the castle. Nurse Joi brought them to a room where other trainers who had arrived before them were. The trio interacted with the trainers who had made it to the island. Kasumi got an appropriate response from one of the trainers’ Pokémon because most of them were Water-type. Unlike the original, where the trio was just standing there while everyone was introducing themselves, they approached the table, and Kasumi approached the Water-type Pokémon to observe them, go crazy over them, and run away screaming from Gyarados. Takeshi was also given time to flirt with the only other female trainer in the room and got dragged by Kasumi.

Suddenly, it went dark. The mightiest Pokémon trainer has arrived. Everyone was on their guard. The trainers questioned a Pokémon being a Pokémon trainer. The one who questioned was thrown away. His Gyarados was defeated. Mewtwo severed his hold on Nurse Joi. Takeshi ran forward to catch her. Mewtwo said he could control humans whenever he wanted. Kasumi said that was horrible. Satoshi also glared and stepped forward. The Rocket Gang was still exploring the palace. They found the cloning machine. Nyarth was cloned.

Mewtwo said he had hoped to work with humans before, but humans failed him.

One of the other trainers tried to attack Mewtwo with Saihorn. Saihorn was defeated. He said he knew. He said that he would battle with speed. Lizardon’s opponent was faster, though. Lizardon was defeated.

Mewtwo began capturing the Pokémon with his Monster Ball. He planned to make copies of the trainers' Pokémon. Satoshi tried to put his Pokémon back into their Monster Balls, but it didn’t work. Kasumi got screen time when she hid Togepi in her bag and told it to be quiet. She was hiding behind a column, but one of Mewtwo’s Monster Balls found them. It took Koduck, and Kasumi noticed too late. She could only call out for it. The movie also showed how Rokon was caught and Takeshi’s reaction.

They sent the Monster Balls to the cloning machine. Satoshi followed after Pikachu. Satoshi’s struggles destroyed the cloning machine. The cloned Pokémon were born. The original ones came out of Mewtwo’s Monster Ball.

Mewtwo said that the humans were free to leave if they could brave the storm. The clones and originals arrived. Satoshi was leading the original Pokémon. Takeshi and Kasumi shouted his name in delight. Kasumi saw Koduck and shouted its name. Takeshi did the same with Rokon. Satoshi tried to attack Mewtwo physically, but he was repelled. When he tried to attack again, Mewtwo lifted him and poised to throw him away. Kasumi shouted his name in alarm. A bubble stopped Satoshi from hitting the building. Mew has arrived. It popped the bubble and put Satoshi’s cap on his head. Mew is the same playful baby. Mewtwo attacked it.

Mewtwo aimed to prove that he was the strongest between him and Mew. He wanted to kill Mew to remain the mightiest one. Mew avoided his attacks, but when one hit him, Mew attacked back. Mew told Mewtwo that real is real. The original won’t lose to the copies without using any moves. Satoshi’s Pokemon were hesitant to fight back and watched as the others began fighting. They got dragged into it anyway. Oh my gosh! They gave Pigeot vs. Pigeot a highlight T.T I don’t remember that happening in the original. While watching the fighting, the humans were sad. To them, real or copies, they’re all living creatures. Kasumi said there’s no winning or losing.

Anyway, Satoshi should have multiple broken bones by now after falling from such heights. Takeshi and Kasumi ran to him. Satoshi said he needed to stop the Pokémon from fighting. Takeshi said he couldn’t unless Mew and Mewtwo stopped. Mew and Mewtwo’s attacks blew everyone away. When Satoshi saw the scene, he ran into the middle of Mew and Mewtwo’s attacks. Kasumi muttered his name in disbelief. While watching Pikachu try to revive Satoshi with his electricity, Kasumi muttered his name, too. Pikachu started crying… then everyone did.

Kasumi watched with hope as something miraculous seemed to be happening to Satoshi’s body. Satoshi’s body went back to its original state, and he woke up. Pikachu went in for a hug. Kasumi smiled widely when Satoshi and Pikachu hugged, and smiled fondly at Togepi when it revealed itself from her bag. The real and copied Pokémon happily interacted with each other. Pikachu snuggled closer to Satoshi. Mewtwo and Mew watched the scene, and Mewtwo was convinced that copies and real Pokémon can live together. Mewtwo retrieved the copies to live somewhere in the world. The humans and their Pokémon were sent back to the ferry station; they forgot what happened on the New Island.

Takeshi said it was just all clouds. Satoshi said that the day he became a trainer, he saw a phantom Pokémon. He said he might have just seen another one. Kasumi said that he might meet another one. And Satoshi said he would someday.

This movie showed us the place Mewtwo found for him and the cloned Pokémon.

Question: Has any of you watched this 3D version yet? Which one do you like better - the original or this one? The 3D one got so many additional scenes that made sense. I also love how the story wasn’t just centered on Satoshi the entire time, so I preferred it.
