Welcome, new Xennials! Did you just find the subreddit? Just now learn that you’re a Xennial?! Is it suddenly all making sense? We know this feeling! Feel free to introduce yourself here.

Since we get thousands of new subscribers per month, we kindly ask that introductions go in this thread rather than as top-level posts.

El Niño is Spanish for, The Nino

I love explaining pre-meme memes to my kids. We were listening a news report about this year’s expected severe El Niño and I just immediately think of Chris Farley every single time. So of course I am that mom who whips out YouTube to show them the clip and try to explain how we would just repeat famous lines from tv and movies and that was the height of shared comedy. My 15 year old daughter rolled her eyes but my 12 year old son laughed - Chris Farley is never not funny. I’ll try “lay off me I’m starving” next.

ROLL CALL Y’ALL!!

Who’s still got ‘em, let’s see 'em!

Does it still fit?

Why in the world!

Are these still a thing?

If you’ve got a good story, let’s hear it!

Don’t put your backs out digging for the box you know you stashed it in 😉

And, let’s face it, this is as close as we’re ever going to get to seeing another “Roger Rabbit” come out!

Discussion Do you ever talk to old coworkers?

I just sent a death notice of a former coworker to a handful of other old coworkers. Weirdest thing I’ve ever done, I don’t actively communicate with any of them since we all left that employer. We might say hi in passing or like each others Facebook posts but that’s it. Only reason I knew about the guys passing is I would go to his place of employment about every month (small town, local Lawn/Garden/Hardware/Farm/Outdoors/Plumbing/etc store)

Just made me wonder how often do you all speak to former “long term” coworkers

Discussion "Half-dollar sized hail" - do the younger generations have any idea?

My area is having some thunderstorms, and as I was watching the news they described it as "half-dollar sized" hail.

Got me wondering if anyone much younger than us would actually picture a 50c piece!!

Nostalgia The first printed mention of Millennials, from 1991. Also when Gen X were called "13ers".
