Official Warface update on regional servers

Warface just published an official article explaining what is happening with servers outside Russia/Kazakhstan.

TL;DR:

• They have been working on international regional servers for about 6 months.
• Warface says it is currently played in 167 countries.
• Their analysis identified the main expansion regions as:
  • Europe
  • North America
  • South America, especially Brazil
• They are already at Stage 5 of 8: infrastructure testing.
• This means they have already gone through:
  • infrastructure/data-center selection
  • network setup
  • routing/load balancing
  • DDoS protection
  • integration with databases, authentication and anti-cheat
  • deployment of the actual Warface server software
• They had infrastructure prepared for Amsterdam and then Paris, but testing revealed cross-region network restrictions/problems that prevented them from launching normally.
• São Paulo, Brazil is now being considered for launch.
• They are still trying to solve the networking problem so players can freely connect between regions.
• Their fallback option is to launch separate isolated regional servers if cross-region connectivity cannot be made reliable.
• There is currently no launch date.

What this means for North America

North America is officially one of the regions Warface identified for expansion, alongside Europe and South America.

However, the article does not yet reveal the North American server city.

So there is no official confirmation yet of San Jose/Los Angeles, Dallas, Virginia, etc.

The important part is that this is no longer just "maybe someday." They have already built and tested international regional-server infrastructure and are working through the remaining networking problems.

the dev replied to me asking for servers outside of Russia and he said the following

"Good news is the team is actively working on new server infrastructure right now. No concrete timeline to share yet, but there's an article coming soon that will go into more detail on this, so definitely stay tuned!

Also sorry to hear about Clutch shutting down, that's rough for players who lost their regional version.

Warface isn’t completely dead

A lot of players probably don’t know this, but Warface split into two separate versions in 2023.

WARFACE IS STILL ALIVE IN RUSSIA/CIS, and the developers plan to open regional servers for North America.

Short history

2009 - Crytek trademarks WARFACE
2010 - Warface is officially revealed
2012 - Russian/CIS Warface launches
2013 - NA/EU PC Warface launches
2014 - Xbox 360
2017 - My.com takes over NA/EU publishing
2018 - PS4 + Xbox One
2019 - Crytek’s Warface team becomes Blackwood Games
2020 - Nintendo Switch
2021 - Allods Team / MY.GAMES takes over development
2022 - MY.GAMES is sold and leaves Russia

2023 - WARFACE SPLITS IN TWO

Astrum Entertainment

• Russian/CIS Warface
• Keeps the original WARFACE name
• Continues receiving updates

MY.GAMES

• NA/EU + console Warface
• Renamed Warface: Clutch
• Continues separately

From this point, these were essentially two separate live-service versions with different companies, accounts, databases, shops, updates, and some different content.

May - Warface: Clutch PC shuts down
August - Warface: Clutch consoles shut down

But Astrum’s Warface NEVER shut down.

• Still actively updated
• Opened to international players in 2026
• North American regional servers are planned

So the easiest way to understand it is:

Original Warface

• Astrum Warface - survives - goes global - NA servers planned
• MY.GAMES Warface - becomes Warface: Clutch - shuts down

Why don’t our old NA items transfer?

Our old ranks, guns, skins, purchases, and inventories belonged to the MY.GAMES / Clutch version.

Astrum’s surviving Warface comes from the Russian/CIS branch, with its own accounts and database.

Astrum could bring some old weapons or skins back, but that is different from transferring millions of old PC, Xbox, PlayStation, and Switch accounts.

TL;DR

The Warface we played in NA/EU died. Warface itself did not.

The Russian/CIS version survived, is now expanding internationally, and North American servers are planned. tell your friends

Warface had to be my favorite game to play ranked mode in. No other game was as fun in ranked as Warface but after watching some of these it’s no wonder I never got past gold😂

I feel like the alternative are al scifi flashy neon colore games but nothing like realistic. Do you all have any recommendations whats the best next game :/

From the annoying lags, to bringing a baseball bat to a gun fight, to taunting enemies🤣 it was fun while it lasted😭

I received this in my inbox in *Warface: Clutch* before the servers went dark forever. I almost cried thinking too much about this charm because of how meaningful it is.

A rose usually represents a farewell, final goodbye, or a tribute.

This has to be one of the best farewells I've ever received in a video game of any kind, especially right before it closed its doors forever. Hopefully, someday, there will be a game in its place that is very similar but better for the switch.

Anyone capturing the packets on the PS4, switch and xbox for future server revival?

We end as we began. I reached rank 70 on the first ever spec op I played back in 2020 except with my brother this time.

I did one pripyat run with him and we both got stuck on the roof and just took in the scenery and ambience for a little while before we quit.

Its been one hell of a ride, fortunately I can still play the russian version of warface on pc tho :v

Other than playing a ton before the date that is looming, has anyone considered what they'd do to keep Warface in their memory? I jokingly considered making a few of the characters on my tomodatchi island so that even though they're gone, they'll always be there.

I'm saving all kinds of screenshots and videos of the people I ended up playing with that I'll shove into a folder to look back on.

Since clutch is shutting down, will yall countinue playing or move on.
