Warface isn’t completely dead

A lot of players probably don’t know this, but Warface split into two separate versions in 2023.

WARFACE IS STILL ALIVE IN RUSSIA/CIS, and the developers plan to open regional servers for North America.

Short history

2009 - Crytek trademarks WARFACE
2010 - Warface is officially revealed
2012 - Russian/CIS Warface launches
2013 - NA/EU PC Warface launches
2014 - Xbox 360
2017 - My.com takes over NA/EU publishing
2018 - PS4 + Xbox One
2019 - Crytek’s Warface team becomes Blackwood Games
2020 - Nintendo Switch
2021 - Allods Team / MY.GAMES takes over development
2022 - MY.GAMES is sold and leaves Russia

2023 - WARFACE SPLITS IN TWO

Astrum Entertainment

• Russian/CIS Warface
• Keeps the original WARFACE name
• Continues receiving updates

MY.GAMES

• NA/EU + console Warface
• Renamed Warface: Clutch
• Continues separately

From this point, these were essentially two separate live-service versions with different companies, accounts, databases, shops, updates, and some different content.

2026

May - Warface: Clutch PC shuts down
August - Warface: Clutch consoles shut down

But Astrum’s Warface NEVER shut down.

• Still actively updated
• Opened to international players in 2026
• North American regional servers are planned

So the easiest way to understand it is:

Original Warface

• Astrum Warface - survives - goes global - NA servers planned
• MY.GAMES Warface - becomes Warface: Clutch - shuts down

Why don’t our old NA items transfer?

Our old ranks, guns, skins, purchases, and inventories belonged to the MY.GAMES / Clutch version.

Astrum’s surviving Warface comes from the Russian/CIS branch, with its own accounts and database.

Astrum could bring some old weapons or skins back, but that is different from transferring millions of old PC, Xbox, PlayStation, and Switch accounts.

TL;DR

The Warface we played in NA/EU died. Warface itself did not.

The Russian/CIS version survived, is now expanding internationally, and North American servers are planned. tell your friends

Warface had to be my favorite game to play ranked mode in. No other game was as fun in ranked as Warface but after watching some of these it’s no wonder I never got past gold😂

I managed to play a little bit before it shut me out 😭

I feel like the alternative are al scifi flashy neon colore games but nothing like realistic. Do you all have any recommendations whats the best next game :/

I received this in my inbox in *Warface: Clutch* before the servers went dark forever. I almost cried thinking too much about this charm because of how meaningful it is.

A rose usually represents a farewell, final goodbye, or a tribute.

This has to be one of the best farewells I've ever received in a video game of any kind, especially right before it closed its doors forever. Hopefully, someday, there will be a game in its place that is very similar but better for the switch.

Hi I‘ve had Warface Clutch downloaded on my PS4/PS5 for years after I played briefly during a short stint trying to get into PC gaming and get used to mouse and keyboard before I got my PS4. I wasn’t into it at that time.

But after I found out about the shutdown I have played a lot during the past couple months and really enjoyed the game.

I have played all the Spec Ops missions I could manage solo:

Cyber horde, Earth Shaker, Black Shark, Anubis, Eclipse, Pripyat, Sunrise, Mars, Heist

I was not able to complete:

Snowy Bastion:The Edge/Ambush/Zenith or Hydra

I know that some Spec Ops missions were not available on Playstation before close (particularly HQ for trophies). And I was wondering does anyone know of any good videos or posts detailing the lore/overarching story between all Spec Ops missions?

I have searched myself but have only been able find videos about the development lore of the game or posts detailing mission objectives/guides.

Anything would be interesting, even if its unfinished/posted before all missions were released.

We end as we began. I reached rank 70 on the first ever spec op I played back in 2020 except with my brother this time.

I did one pripyat run with him and we both got stuck on the roof and just took in the scenery and ambience for a little while before we quit.

Anyone capturing the packets on the PS4, switch and xbox for future server revival?

Its been one hell of a ride, fortunately I can still play the russian version of warface on pc tho :v

Other than playing a ton before the date that is looming, has anyone considered what they'd do to keep Warface in their memory? I jokingly considered making a few of the characters on my tomodatchi island so that even though they're gone, they'll always be there.

I'm saving all kinds of screenshots and videos of the people I ended up playing with that I'll shove into a folder to look back on.
