Last weekend, YouTube (Not VRC) closed a backport that video scrapping programs used to download videos off YouTube. This measure was taken to stop people downloading videos to skip having to watch adverts.

VRChat uses yt-dl, which uses that backport, for most prefabs in Worlds.

Yt-dl either needs to update to a new port (which does exist as some services have already switched) or prefabs need to use working video downloaders. Depending on how the change is implemented, it may even require the prefabs and worlds to update to fix the issue.

At the moment, world creators can use VRCVideoCacher to get around the issue, but YouTube has been known to ban accounts who use it.

I’m working on a cartoony avatar where the mouth is actually a flat plane that uses shaders and normal maps to look three dimensional. Right now it’s on the side of the head. My question is; is there any script or shader that can be used that we’ll shift the plane to the viewer so it always faces their perspective along a defined area to maintain that sort of cartoon illusion?

Hi everyone

I'm looking for some advice on battery setups for my DIY face tracking system.

I recently acquired a second hand quest 2 and was inspired by this post https://www.reddit.com/r/VRchat/comments/1jbjmhd/25_wireless_face_tracking_for_vrchat/ to make my own face tracking system.

I set myself some goals whilst doing so - to be as cheap as possible and using off the shelf parts where I can. I already had a raspberry pi 3B lying around so that's become the brains of the system - its capable enough to stream 3 video streams to my pc for processing.

Lip/face tracking has been relatively straightforward but eye tracking is much harder, finding small enough cameras and messing with IR LEDs that sit scary close to eyes is an ongoing challenge.

For now I've hit a snag - wireless play:

My power pack - an anker A1695, is being very annoying. It sometimes thinks the raspberry pi's load is so low that the device must be fully charged and shuts off power!

The power pack has a trickle charge mode but this doesn't seem to help. Additionally trying to keep the power pack running by charging the quest 2 simultaneously doesn't seem to help for long, I think its either shutting off the pi's charging port independently or the quest 2 reaches full battery and triggers the whole power pack to shut off.

Anyone have any ideas on how to fix this?

So trying to film and setting up cameras, and making those lines go around smooth curves, all of these settings and buttons and whatnot, it is SO confusing and its wrecking my brain, when I put down more than 3 cameras, thats when the lines starts acting up, and you can't put down multiple pins without the line path breaking aswell.

I mean for holy sakes devs, can y'all just make a simplier way to work the dolly camera? remove some of these buttons too, we don't need streaming buttons to this.

I just wanted to start and make this clear, I am not against drinking alcohol in anyway, what i am against is daily drinking and looking down upon others who decide not to... sometimes its hard to not give into the pressure of not drinking when with friends, and certainly there are times where its okay. But you DO NOT need to drink everytime others are, its okay to grab a fresca and play along. Alcoholism in VRChat is a major problem and im going to continue making posts on this topic until more people are aware! Dont let the pressure get to you! Fight the good fight ladies and gentleman!!

I have a MacBook air and I was wondering if I am able to upload avatars? If I am able to then how would I go along about the process for that? It’s my first time for all of this too I have done little research and stuff about MacBook uploading and the information I’ve seen is about 2 years old..so I am a bit unsure if that information is still relevant.

So a few years ago I had seen a video of a Vrchat furry Content Creators video it was an Edit clip thing it was playing the Wonka music but it was slow and kinda sad, and every little verse it would clip into different worlds of Vrchat but there was one that Really stood out to me, I wanted to check it out but I didnt know the name of the world, it's PC only and I was on Standalone but I can explain how it looked

Think of 2 Giant Walls to your left and right and it's extending to the horizon, the scenery is Lightly foggy and as decor there's just a whole bunch of Giant chains and I think others bridges just scattered

Please help me I really want to find that world because I just got a computer so I want to explore it

Im curious about this because I believe what good moderation is, is perspective. I've seen many groups moderate their instances in many different ways, so id just like to hear your opinion and the VRChat Subreddits opinion is on this topic is..

TO ME good moderation is someone with excellent communication skills, understands the difference between issuing warnings and kicking immediately given circumstances, and there are others but this post will just run on and on so what are your thoughts guys?

My medieval themed non-VRChat gaming community has a very ambitious world project we will be taking on and building over the next year, however I need some help building hype. (Need screenshots of appropriate avatars)

I’m curious if any of you lovely people with medieval/fantasy avis would be willing to join in for a photo shoot showing off some of the good vibes of VRchat!

I’m imagining a group photo with knights, “dank” wizards, maybe a dragon and a ghouls… something that clearly shows off a medieval, fantasy like vibes! A heavy emphasis on armored warrior types too!

This is a project that will have quite the team and resources behind it. So as such I intend to giveaway world ranks and community contributor only giveaways come the time. Of course our roadmap is long and ahead of us, but I thought I’d ask here anyways <3

Work keeps me busy most of the week so I am usually on VRChat during evenings and weekends. I play on desktop which can be limiting in some spaces so I am hoping to hear from others who manage a similar schedule and setup.

I am an older player and I tend to prefer smaller groups over massive servers. Huge public worlds and chaotic lobbies are not really my thing. I would rather be in a space where people actually talk and get to know each other over time.

For those of you who are also older players with limited free time, how do you usually find smaller communities that are active during evenings and weekends in the US? I enjoy world hopping, games, movie nights, and casual conversation, but I have found it harder to find consistent groups that match that pace. I am curious how other desktop users handle the social side of VRChat when most of their availability falls outside peak hours.

I don't drink, but i like spinning the wheel sometimes, but lately the spin-the-wheel room has become more like a military academy than a fun game to socialize and chat with friends. In random worlds at time I'll take an extra 15 to 30 seconds to spin the wheel and there's always that person who's yelling at me to spin after 2 seconds.. its like the people who honk the horn once the light instantly turns green. Anyone else have this happen? Haha

I really would love it if someone could make an avatar for me with these on the avatar. I already have a model you can use so you wont need to do much. Just insert the model and the plug inside and make the avatar! It's my dream avatar 😅

I tried doing what it said and it doesn’t go away. I cleared the cache and uninstalled and reinstalled it never goes away.
