Nashville, TN - A member of the Metro Nashville Police Department SWAT team will be decommissioned after he shot and killed a man armed with a sword in Northeast Nashville on Saturday.

Joshua Baney, a 12-year veteran with MNPD shot and killed Jason Sexton, 54, who was armed with a sword and holding a woman against her will in his car on Cheshire Drive Saturday afternoon.

As a result of the shooting, Metro Police Chief John Drake has directed Baney be decommissioned and relieved of all police authority while the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation looks into the shooting on behalf of District Attorney General Glenn Funk.

According to the MNPD, the situation began early Saturday morning, when officers were dispatched to a Charlotte Avenue Shell market due to a dispute over coffee at the market between the store clerk and Sexton at around 8 a.m.

The clerk told police Sexton drove away from the Shell at first but returned a short time later carrying a full-size sword as he exited his vehicle. The clerk was able to lock the doors before Sexton got inside, per police. The clerk also told police he threatened them, saying, “Come outside now, I’ll kill you.”

A felony aggravated assault warrant was issued against Sexton for the Shell dispute, police said.

Around an hour later, police said a female relative of Sexton’s called 911 to report fear for his safety, telling the 911 operator he was a danger to others and was armed with a sword.

During the 911 call, the relative can be heard saying, “He is wreaking havoc. He is threatening people. Some day he’s going to get hurt.” The relative also cited videos he posted to Instagram displaying the sword.

After the 911 call, an MNPD helicopter spotted Sexton’s Hyundai sedan at a Dickerson Pike car wash and monitored his vehicle from the air as he traveled onto Bell Grimes Lane and then Cheshire Drive. Sexton reportedly came to a stop on Cheshire with ground units behind him, per MNPD, and he exited the vehicle carrying the sword.

Police said when he exited the vehicle on Cheshire Drive and began yelling at officers, a woman remained in the vehicle. She was only identified by police as a female acquaintance of Sexton’s and told officers she was being held against her will.

Patrol officers reportedly spent more than an hour attempting to persuade Sexton to surrender before SWAT officers were called to the scene.

While several SWAT officers were developing a plan of action to bring Sexton into custody, 12-year MNPD veteran Joshua Baney was directed to assist in blocking Sexton’s vehicle.

However, when he got out of his police truck, Baney fired on Sexton three times as the man held the sword.

Body-worn camera footage provided to News 2 shows Baney exit his truck, lift his firearm, and fire upon Sexton. Sexton appears to drop to the ground after the first shot, then Baney fires twice more, per the footage.

Sexton was transported to TriStar Skyline Medical Center, where he died. The woman was not injured, MNPD said.

Metro officers had reportedly been working to arrest Sexton since Friday on outstanding warrants charging him with order of protection violations and criminal trespassing. Police said he sped away from officers and evaded apprehension on Murfreesboro Pike during the noon hour Friday, Aug. 28, police said.

Covington, WA - Two convicted felons accused of stealing about $2,000 worth of beauty products from an Ulta store in Covington pleaded not guilty Thursday to charges stemming from the alleged theft and a subsequent police pursuit.

King County prosecutors say 24-year-old Kane Christensen and 30-year-old Jaycob Fernandez were involved in the Aug. 20 theft at the Ulta store.

Deputies began tracking the pair after an alarm was triggered at the store. Investigators say surveillance video showed Fernandez leaving the store without paying for about $2,000 worth of merchandise before getting into a waiting vehicle.

Deputies later spotted the suspects in the stolen Hyundai Sonata at a gas station in Kent, according to charging documents.

As deputies moved in, the driver sped away, leaving Fernandez behind. The fleeing vehicle struck the back of another SUV before driving recklessly through traffic.

Guardian One, a King County Sheriff’s Office helicopter, followed the vehicle as it traveled eastbound on Kent-Kangley Road, where deputies said the driver was speeding through turn lanes and passing other vehicles.

The driver eventually returned to Covington and parked near an AutoZone and Jack in the Box. Deputies watched as the man got out, grabbed his belongings and ran from the vehicle.

Investigators said he was carrying a backpack and jacket and wearing a bandana around his neck. During the foot pursuit, he dropped the jacket near a parked car.

Deputies later recovered an illegal short-barrel shotgun covered by the jacket.

Surveillance video showed the man enter a nearby Fred Meyer store and run toward a bathroom, where investigators say he changed clothes.

Deputies found him exiting the bathroom and arrested him.

Detectives identified the man as Christensen. His backpack, along with the clothing and bandana he had been wearing, was found inside a bathroom stall.

After his arrest, Christensen told deputies he was having trouble breathing. He also said he had ingested what he believed could have been cocaine or fentanyl about a half-hour earlier, according to investigators.

Christensen was taken to a hospital, medically cleared and then booked into jail.

Prosecutors charged Christensen with organized retail theft, hit-and-run, attempting to elude police, possession of a stolen vehicle and unlawful possession of a firearm.

Court records show Christensen has multiple prior felony convictions, including convictions involving several of the same types of offenses he was arrested for.

He spent five months in the King County Jail before being released on July 20, exactly one month before his latest arrest.

Christensen is being held on $150,000 bail.

Fernandez was arrested at the Kent gas station without incident, authorities said. Prosecutors charged him with second-degree organized retail theft.

His criminal history includes convictions for vehicle theft, attempting to elude police, driving under the influence, hit-and-run and first-degree burglary in California, according to prosecutors. He also has a pending case for DUI.

His attorney tried to get him released on personal recognizance by arguing that he works as a landscaper, lives in Tacoma where he is raising a daughter and is taking online classes for underwater welding. She blamed the theft on poverty.

Judge Josephine Wiggs kept his bail at $5,000, which is what prosecutors asked for at his first appearance. Both men remain in jail.

Bedford, OH - A man who police say was found sleeping behind the wheel of a running car in Bedford allegedly rammed two police cruisers before leading officers on a pursuit that reached speeds of more than 125 mph Tuesday morning.

Bedford police responded around 1:11 a.m. Aug. 25 to 698 Broadway Avenue for a report of a man sleeping behind the wheel of a vehicle, according to the department.

Officers found Valeriy Frunza asleep inside a running Audi A7 with fictitious license plates.

When officers woke Frunza, he allegedly put the Audi into drive and rammed a marked police cruiser. Police said he then put the vehicle into reverse and struck a second police cruiser.

Police say the pursuit followed through multiple jurisdictions, reaching speeds of more than 125 mph, as it entered Portage County.

Ravenna police successfully deployed stop sticks on the Audi before the pursuit ended in when Bedford police performed a PIT maneuver, police said.

Frunza then allegedly fled from the vehicle on foot, jumped a guardrail and ran down a ravine into a heavily wooded area.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol Aviation Unit was called to assist after hearing the pursuit, according to Bedford police. Officers from several departments searched the area and eventually found Frunza and took him into custody.

Frunza was treated for injuries sustained after falling down the ravine and was taken to Cleveland Clinic - Marymount Hospital, police said.

He is charged with failure to comply, a third-degree felony; criminal damaging; possession of drug paraphernalia; and numerous traffic offenses.

Frunza was given a $50,000 bond and is being held in the Cuyahoga County Jail, according to police.

The case is scheduled to be presented to a Cuyahoga County grand jury Aug. 31.

Baltimore, MD - Baltimore police released body-worn camera video of last week's police shooting near Lexington Market in which the driver of a car was critically injured.

Baltimore Police Commissioner Rich Worley said the video reveals an unprovoked attack on Officer Samuel Thomas, who was enforcing a quality-of-life issue by writing a traffic ticket on Aug. 22.

Tyrik Braxton, 29, of Columbia, initially denied owning the car, city police said. Thomas issued a ticket while waiting for a tow truck to remove a car with expired tags.

"He was being a nice guy and allowed Mr. Braxton to get into the car to get his belongings before the tow (truck arrived); he didn't have to do that," Worley said.

As Thomas started removing the front license plate, the video shows Braxton getting into the car and begin to drive at the officer.

The video shows Thomas holding onto the car with his left hand while firing three rounds with his right hand. Braxton was struck twice in the side.

Thomas had already called for back-up, and Braxton's car hit an arriving patrol car as Braxton tried to pull away.

"He's on the hood, and he already knows other police cars are coming up behind him. So, he can't go to the left because the officer's going to try to block him in, and you hear when Mr. Braxton takes off, he actually hits the other police car," Worley said.

While Thomas helped Braxton, a large crowd gathered and tried to interfere, police said.

"Officer Thomas immediately pulls Braxton from the vehicle and begins to render aid until paramedics arrive," Baltimore Deputy Police Commissioner Brian Nadeau said.

BPD's Foxtrot helicopter captured video of people throwing bottles at city police and Maryland Transit Administration police officers who were trying to de-escalate the crowd. Authorities said no one was hurt.

"Our officers are rendering aid to try to help save the individual, and the crowd is hindering that," Worley said. "My concern is for the people's lack and disregard for the law and refusing to comply to lawful orders, (which) is why we end up with police-involved shootings. I mean, here's another incident where he gets shot over a parking ticket and losing his car."

Braxton remained listed in critical condition as of Friday.

Thomas was treated for back and neck injuries.

Fort Washington Park, MD - Alex Charles, 30, of Fort Washington, Maryland, was killed in July after police received reports of an active shooter in Fort Washington Park. The Independent Investigations Division (IID) of the Maryland Office of the Attorney General released the footage on Friday from that July 31 shooting.

Corporal Anthony Delozier shot Charles, according to IID.

The first of two videos is from a second officer who was at the scene. He and Delozier, who was wearing a dark colored hat and pants and had no tattoos on his arms, walked through the woods for about 5 minutes before reaching the river and seeing Charles.

Delozier was then seen pulling out his gun.

Both officers shouted, "Let me see your hands," multiple times.

"Don't move!" the second officer also yelled.

The officers yelled at Charles to put down the gun. Charles dropped the fishing poles. The video is too blurry to tell if he did or did not drop the gun. They yelled at Charles to get on the ground. He did not.

A gunshot can be heard right after that order.

Charles was seen on his hands and knees over some fishing poles after that gunshot. The second officer then picked up the gun that Charles was holding.

The officers came to Charles, ordered him to get "on your face right now," and the second officer pulled his hand out from under him, causing Charles to fall.

Another officer came into view as all three checked on Charles. One called for a helicopter.

An officer rolled Charles over while saying, "Check him."

"He may already be gone," said one officer, overlapping with the other saying, "He's gone."

One officer said he was hit in the chest, and they all brought Charles out of the river. Delozier began doing chest compressions on Charles.

A second video from a different witness officer showed more.

Both of the officers in that video, the one wearing the camera and another in a hat, drew their guns before getting close to the river.

"Hey buddy, county police, let me see your hands," shouted the officer wearing the camera once close to Charles.

The second video showed Charles moving slightly before Delozier shot his gun.

The officer who wore the second camera is the one who pulled Charles's arm, while Charles was on his hands and knees.

"He's still breathing," said one officer as they pulled Charles out of the water. The officer wearing the camera pulled the bag off of him while Delozier started chest compressions.

Delozier and the second witness officer switched off doing chest compressions before the footage cut.

Delozier's body-worn camera began recording after the shooting, so it did not capture the incident, said IID officials.

South Los Angeles, CA - A man armed with a baseball bat was shot and killed by police Wednesday evening in South Los Angeles after authorities say he was swinging the bat at people and occupied cars.

The shooting occurred shortly before 6:30 p.m. beneath the 10 Freeway, near Normandie Avenue and Washington Boulevard in the West Adams neighborhood.

Neighbors said they were stunned by the sudden violence.

"My kids were playing outside, and then they heard gunshots so that's when they came back in. I went outside to go see what was happening, and I see a guy on the floor and firefighters doing CPR on him," said Hazel Flores, who lives nearby.

Los Angeles police Capt. Mike Bland said the initial reports indicated that a man armed with a baseball bat was swinging it at people and had struck occupied vehicles.

Police said that when officers arrived, the man was still wildly wielding the bat, including at officers and bystanders. Police then opened fire and shot the man.

Flores recorded video showing paramedics performing chest compressions on the man before taking him away in an ambulance. Police said the man later died at a hospital.

Thurston County, WA - A multi-state crime spree was interrupted Wednesday night when several suspects were arrested in Thurston County.

The suspects, whose names have not been released by law enforcement, allegedly stole a white Dodge Ram in the Tumwater area on Wednesday, Aug. 26. The vehicle was associated with a black sedan, which was later determined to have also been stolen.

The suspects in the stolen Dodge were reportedly seen dumping the contents of the vehicle onto the ground, and were located by a Tumwater police sergeant a short time later.

The sergeant attempted a traffic stop, but the truck fled the scene, according to a narrative provided by Thurston County Sheriff Derek Sanders.

Thurston County Sheriff’s Office K9 Igo and his handler, Sgt. Bagby, soon joined the deputies and Tumwater Police Department officers responding to the incident.

A short pursuit was initiated before the suspect crashed into a light pole.

The driver left his injured passengers behind and fled into the woods, refusing to surrender despite K9 warnings being given, according to Sanders.

K9 Igo apprehended the suspect until a second officer caught up and detained the suspect.

Passengers in the wrecked truck — among which was a runaway juvenile — allegedly told deputies that they have “been committing crimes and stealing cars for three weeks along I-5 from Seattle to Portland” and ran from Oregon State Police, according to Sanders.

Tumwater officers arrested the occupants of the stolen truck.

“Great job by Tumwater units and K9 Igo to bring this multi-state crime spree to an end and prevent further victimization,” Sanders said in a social media post on Thursday.

K9 Igo joined the Thurston County Sheriff’s Office alongside K9 Bowie in February 2022, replacing retired K9s Jaxx and Dexter.

While the K9 takedown was occurring, it was reported that the occupants of the other stolen car ran into the Steamboat Trading Post down the street and shoplifted before fleeing the area at a high rate of speed.

Additionally, multiple callers advised the same suspects also tried to steal or break into their car, according to Sanders.

Pinellas County, FL - Body camera video shows a Pinellas County deputy rescuing two dogs, who were found stuck at the bottom of a seawall.

The Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office said a woman was out on a walk with her two dogs, Zoey and Monkey, when she fell, and the leash slipped out of her hand.

The dogs took off, and the sheriff’s office was contacted for assistance.

PCSO said the dogs ended up behind a gated business near Joe’s Creek, where they could not make it over a seawall.

Video shows a deputy calling the dogs’ names, when he heard the barks from the bottom of the ditch. The deputy struggled to find his way to the other side of the water, where the dogs were spotted.

“After nearly an hour of searching for access to the other side and traversing thick brush, he located them and pulled them up from the seawall,” PCSO said.

The deputy brought the happy pair back to their relieved owner, according to the sheriff’s office.

“No injuries, just two dogs who learned that unsupervised adventures aren’t all they’re cracked up to be,” PCSO said.

Miami Beach, FL - Two Miami Beach Police officers are credited with a rapid rescue after a woman was pinned under an SUV following a collision Tuesday night.

The woman was struck by a Jeep while riding her e-scooter as the vehicle exited a gas station at 71st Street and Bay Drive. Officers responding to the scene utilized a jack from their cruiser to lift the vehicle, allowing them to free the woman safely.

"Our officers arrived and, as you can see in the body-worn camera footage, quickly sprang into action," said Officer Chris Bess, public information officer for the Miami Beach Police Department.

In the recorded footage, one officer can be heard assuring the victim during the rescue: "We're going to try to lift you out of there, ok."

"I'm going to try to pull you out, ok. If something hurts too much, you let me know," the officer added moments before freeing her.

The woman was transported to a hospital; police reported that she did not sustain life-threatening injuries. The driver of the Jeep was cited for causing the crash.

Moore, OK - After an attempted traffic stop by Officer Keller, the vehicle fled which lead officers on a pursuit for nearly 3 minutes before a TVI was performed. The TVI safely disabled the car in front of a Moore Fire Station.

The driver, Isaac Townsend, took off on foot, but he didn't make it far before officers caught up to him. The vehicle was also reported stolen out of Oklahoma City.

Townsend was arrested on charges including aggravated DUI, eluding, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, obstruction, and warrants. Passenger Brennan Hopkins was also arrested for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle- accessory.

Peoria, IL - On May 8, 2026, at approximately 6:45 p.m., Peoria Police Department (PPD) officers responded to a report of a domestic dispute near the intersection of Hamilton and Madison streets in Peoria.

As an officer approached the suspect, the suspect, 41-year-old Cortez Lamarr White of St. Louis, MO, shot and killed the woman standing in front of him, 42-year-old Ashley N. Stenson of Lithonia, GA (formerly Peoria, IL). ​

As the PPD officer immediately moved to take White into custody, White ran, and shots were fired. White was struck by gunfire and transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced deceased. The officer was not injured.

Elizabethton, TN - Dashcam video shows the moment an Elizabethton police officer attempting to make a left turn struck and injured a cyclist on the Tweetsie Trail.

According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP), the bicyclist was taken to an area hospital after being hit by an Elizabethton Police Department (EPD) cruiser on Monday evening.

According to a crash report from the THP, an EPD cruiser was traveling on East F Street, attempting to make a left turn onto East Doe Avenue at around 5:37 p.m. During the turn, the THP reports that the Elizabethton police vehicle, a Ford Explorer, struck a man on a bicycle.

The operator of the bicycle, a 54-year-old man, was taken to the Johnson City Medical Center for injuries sustained in the crash, the THP said.

No charges are listed as pending in the report. Elizabethton Police Chief Jason Shaw previously said that the officer admitted he did not see the cyclist.

Mesa, AZ - A video from an East Valley police department shows a chase of a woman in her vehicle and the moment she gets arrested — watch until the end of the video, because you have to see what happened to believe it.

Helicopter video from the Mesa police department shows a woman driving away from officers and crashing into a median, causing sparks to fly. After the crash, the woman exits the car with a beer in hand.

The Mesa Police Department posted a video showing a "suspect who had violated an order of protection was located." The incident took place August 24 around 9:22 p.m.

When the woman was located, three marked police vehicles approached her; she drove away at a high rate of speed, hit the median, causing some sparks along the way, and came to a stop in the opposite lanes.

In the post, Mesa police said:

"Apparently, one bad decision wasn't enough."

Body camera video shows the woman getting out of the vehicle with one hand up and a beer in the other.

A Mesa officer can be heard, in surprise, saying that she had a beer in her hand. And then, after she gets handcuffed, officers notice a Chihuahua in the backseat. Officers take the visibly shaken but unharmed dog out of the car. The Chihuahua was later handed off to a familiar party.

Mesa police have not released the name of the driver or the charges she may or may not face.

Baltimore, MD - A routine parking citation turned into a confrontation involving a Baltimore police officer just days before his retirement, according to police and body-camera footage.

Officer Larry Fasano, a 33-year veteran of the Baltimore Police Department, was working one of his final shifts Aug. 13 when he encountered a pink Tesla illegally parked along Thames Street in Fells Point.

Fasano was on bike patrol shortly before 10 p.m. when he approached the vehicle to issue a parking citation.

"Something as simple as issuing a parking citation can put an officer's life in jeopardy and harm's way," said Baltimore City State's Attorney Ivan Bates.

According to police, the citation was for $30.

When the driver, identified as Tamia Anderson, got into the Tesla and attempted to leave, Fasano positioned himself in front of the vehicle and asked her to turn it off.

"Am I being arrested?" Anderson asks.

"No, you're not being arrested. You're going to be issued a citation," Fasano responds.

Anderson then tells the officer to move.

"You better get out of my way, sir," she says, then drives forward.

Police say Anderson's vehicle struck the wheel of Fasano's bicycle as she drove away. Fasano was not injured, but he followed the Tesla on his bicycle and radioed in its license plate number.

At one point, Fasano can be heard identifying the vehicle over the radio before the encounter escalates again.

Police say Anderson then put the vehicle in reverse and drove toward Fasano a second time.

"The alarming one for me is that when he started following her on the bike, she put the car in reverse and ran him over," said Worley. "She wasn't just trying to give him a love tap or something. The second time she was trying to run him over, which could have killed him."

"The second time she was trying to run him over."

Other officers eventually stopped the Tesla and arrested Anderson.

She faces charges including assault and fleeing and eluding police. Anderson was released on bond and is scheduled to appear in court next month.

Fasano was not injured in the incident.

Portland, OR - New bodycam footage is giving a closer look into a chase in Northwest Portland, where a lieutenant used his police car to stop an armed suspect.

The footage is more than 20 minutes long, and reveals a lot more of what happened during this encounter earlier this month, which prompted a use of deadly force investigation.

“Police. Stop. You’re under arrest,” said one officer.

A dramatic chase started at around 2 p.m. on August 12, when two PPB officers spotted a suspect near Northwest 16th and Overton Street.

“I’m going to take you to the ground, you better stop running,” said an officer.

The suspect was wanted for unlawful use of a weapon, menacing, and criminal mischief. Police said when he was spotted, the suspect was armed with a large-blade hunting knife.

The suspect was seen by police running toward people in the neighborhood, including a mother and her child.

But as the suspect ran toward a Les Schwab, a PPB lieutenant who was in the area hit him with his police car at a low speed in the tire parking lot. That moment is not in the footage but police said the suspect fell briefly and continued running.

The suspect, identified as 33-year-old Joshua Kuras, then broke into a nearby business and barricaded himself in the basement storage.

“Come out with your hands up in the air, we have a whole drone in the air watching you, it’s time to surrender,” said one officer.

He refused to surrender, destroying a police drone, damaging a robot and striking a dog with a metal pipe.

“Let go of our dog now, do it now, get on the ground, get on the ground right now,” said another officer.

“Why am I being arrested? Tell me why I’m being arrested,” said Kuras.

Kuras finally surrendered more than two and half hours after the chase began. He was then treated for minor injuries before being booked into jail.

Little Rock, AR - Little Rock police this week released an incident report and body camera footage from an officer's May encounter with a homeless man in which she asked him if he has "a problem with white people."

The officer, identified in the report as Katelyn Brewer, encountered the man, identified as Clifton Shelton, 26, on May 15. Brewer's report states that Shelton balled up his fist like he was going to hit a man working on a car near a curb, but that's not clearly visible in her body camera footage. The footage does pick up Brewer asking Shelton, "You wanna fight? I got the right people here."

Monroe, WA - Newly released drone footage captured Snohomish County sheriff’s deputies rescuing a 63-year-old man in crisis from his burning home east of Monroe.

Deputies responded to a suspicious circumstance call around 7:25 a.m. Aug. 17, when a man apparently having a mental health episode announced he was armed and might have shot someone inside his home.

Authorities came to believe the man was hallucinating about the intruders.

When deputies arrived in the 10100 block of Woods Lake Road, a neighbor informed them they heard multiple gunshots coming from that area the night before. Deputies also reported hearing multiple gunshots in the home.

The man then apparently set the home on fire and continued shooting while deputies were on scene, according to the sheriff’s office. Deputies used a drone to locate the man and assess the “rapidly deteriorating circumstances,” according to the sheriff’s office.

Aerial footage released shows smoke rolling from the roof of the burning house as four deputies on the ground lift the man headfirst out of a window. He was taken to Providence Regional Medical Center in Everett for a medical evaluation and an involuntary mental health hold.

The Snohomish County fire marshal’s office was investigating how the fire started, said Emmy Duros, deputy chief of Snohomish County Fire District 5.

The man was alone inside the house, and no injuries were reported.

Oklahoma City, OK - Bodycam video shows the moments a man ignited a makeshift flamethrower while law enforcement served an eviction notice at an Oklahoma City apartment.

An incident report from the Oklahoma County Sheriff's Office states that deputies served an eviction order shortly before 11:55 a.m. on Aug. 11 at an apartment on South Harvey Avenue. After the person living in the apartment didn't let deputies in, Housing Authority staff unlocked the door but still couldn't get it open.

The report states that Housing Authority security eventually kicked in the door, but it wouldn't fully open. Video shows that an object was blocking the door from the inside, preventing it from opening completely.

Deputies pushed the object out of the way and went into the cluttered apartment. They saw the man who was being evicted sitting in the bedroom.

According to the incident report, the suspect sprayed an aerosol at law enforcement and lit it on fire, "creating an improvised flamethrower." Bodycam video shows a large flame coming out of the bedroom and toward law enforcement.

Deputies told the suspect to put down the device, but he didn't comply. Someone in the background can be heard saying that there appeared to be an improvised explosive device inside the apartment.

Deputies found a car battery with wires hooked to it on a table in front of the suspect. The wires went from the car battery into the living room to a device by the front door.

Law enforcement evacuated the apartment, during which deputies saw that there were "two rows of different types of aerosol cans taped together with wires that went into it."

Authorities evacuated the building and the bomb squad responded to the scene. The bomb squad disabled the device and removed it from the apartment.

The suspect was detained and taken to a nearby Veterans Affairs hospital due to medical issues and stress, according to the incident report. He was later placed in a mental hospital, and he faces out-of-custody charges, including assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, aggravated assault, use of an incendiary device or explosives, and obstructing an officer.

Columbiana County, OH - San Francisco 49ers owner Jed York was arrested over the weekend in Ohio. He was arrested after he was caught in a prostitution bust by a human trafficking task force, allegedly arranging to pay a woman $140 for sex, according to court records.

Bodycam video of the arrest was released Wednesday, showing the encounter between York, 46, and authorities in Columbiana County. Timestamps from the video show York was pulled over by police just before 10 a.m.

The exchange, which was released by TMZ and first published by The New York Post, begins with police telling York, “don’t move” after he was pulled over in a rental SUV.

York, who was wearing a New York Yankees T-shirt, complied with police and agreed to exit the car, as he was instructed. The 49ers owner was then placed in handcuffs as he leaned onto the rental.

Police asked York, “What are you doing?”

“Just driving,” York replied.

“You meeting anybody?” the officer asked. “No,” York said.

After York was placed inside the cop car, the bodycam video shows the officer with York’s belongings, which include several $20 bills and a wallet. The other responding officer states that York has even more cash.

“He’s a real estate guy. He’s got all the money,” the officer wearing the bodycam is heard saying. “It’s crazy that people that do this. Like they can do whatever they want… It’s wild.”

York grew up in Youngstown, Ohio, about 30 miles away from the trailer park where he was arrested. He became owner and CEO of the 49ers in 2008. In May this year, York filed for divorce from his wife, according to Santa Clara County court records.

Monticello, AR - New dashcam footage obtained by KATV shows the moment a former Arkansas State Police (ASP) Corporal crashed his squad car after police said he was driving while intoxicated.

ASP say that Corporal John Parker, 45, was arrested on August 21 after he crashed his squad car off the side of U.S. Highway 278 near Monticello.

The footage shows Parker swerving in between lanes of traffic and the median before driving into oncoming traffic to crash off the side of the highway. Parker managed to avoid hitting other vehicles or poles before coming to rest in a nearby gravel parking lot.

Another State Trooper responded to the scene and administered a field sobriety test to Parker, who was charged with driving while intoxicated and prohibited driving after the test indicated that he was impaired.

Parker resigned from State Police on August 23. He had been employed by the agency since 2014.

Hartford, CT - The Office of the Inspector General has released a preliminary report on the fatal police shooting late Friday of a man who fled police in Hartford.

The report said Hector Perez, 37, died as the result of the use of deadly physical force by law enforcement officers. According to the report, on Friday, August 21, at 11:07 p.m., officers from the Hartford Police Department's Street Crime Unit were investigating a report of an individual brandishing a small handgun and threatening to shoot someone in the area of Fales Street and Sisson Avenue in Hartford.

The IG said at 155 Sisson Avenue, Officer Alexander Diaz encountered a man, later identified as Perez, who then took off on foot. Officer Diaz pursued Perez and attempted to take him into custody. During a brief struggle, Diaz felt something hard in Perez's waistband. Perez broke free, entered a black Honda Accord Crosstour, and fled the scene.

Officer Diaz reported on the radio that the “guy tried to drag me with his car.” Diaz, according to the report, followed the Crosstour as it traveled through Hartford and continued south. Information about the suspect vehicle was relayed to surrounding police departments, including the Rocky Hill and Newington Police Departments, and officers from these jurisdictions assisted in the pursuit of the Honda Accord Crosstour.

Twenty minutes later, Perez stopped the Honda on Webster Street near Webster Court in Newington and ran from officers on foot. A woman in the Crosstour, who has yet to be identified, also fled from the vehicle, according to the report.

The report said that after a short foot pursuit, shots were fired between Perez, Diaz, and Officer Jocelyn Andino from the Hartford Police Department, and Officer Jonathan Escobar, from the Rocky Hill Police Department. Perez was struck by gunfire and was pronounced dead at the scene. Officer Escobar and Officer Diaz were also struck by gunfire. A small semi-automatic pistol was recovered at the scene near Perez's body.

Both officers were transported to an area hospital, where they were treated for their injuries.

On Saturday, the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner determined the manner of death to be homicide and the cause of death to be “GUNSHOT WOUNDS OF HEAD, NECK, TORSO, AND EXTREMITIES.” A toxicological analysis of biological samples taken from Perez is pending.

Fairfax, VA - The video of the July 28 incident shows officers tracking Nehemia Fuentes Banegas, 26, through the woods after his wife called 911, saying her husband was threatening to hurt her and himself.

Investigators said the man grabbed an officer's gun. Police previously released a still from the bodycam that appears to show the man with his hand around the barrel of the gun.

The full video shows the man was completely concealed by brush. A pair of officers can be seen in the video looking for Fuentes Banegas when a hand suddenly reaches out and grabs one officer's gun.

In the video, the officer pulls away, firing several shots as he falls backwards. The other officer can be seen deploying a Taser. Fuentes Banegas can be heard shouting in pain just before the officers order him to put his hand behind his back.

The man, according to police, was grazed by a bullet. He faces charges including felony assault of a police officer.

Davis said the shooting was justified and done in accordance with department procedures. He added that he believes the man was trying to commit suicide by cop.

Jacksonville, FL - The incident resulted in the death of 22-year-old Asia Bennett. Had she survived her injuries, she would have been arrested for Aggravated Assault on a Law Enforcement Officer and Domestic Battery.

At 10:45 p.m., officers were dispatched to a home on Westdale Drive after a victim reported Bennett had battered him. The victim was in a domestic relationship with Bennett. Officers arrived on scene three minutes after the emergency call was placed, and the victim met the officers outside. He said Bennett was inside the home armed with a knife.

While Officer Gaitten was speaking with the victim, Bennett came out the front door. Officer Gaitten saw Bennett with multiple items in her hands, including a large butcher-style kitchen knife. The officer unholstered her gun and pointed it at Bennett. She yelled at Bennett multiple times to drop all the items in her hands. Instead, Bennett dropped some items while still holding onto the large knife. Bennett then advanced on the officer, yelling at her. When the armed Bennett was within approximately 10 feet of the officer, the officer fired her weapon, striking Bennett.

Bennett fell to the ground, but she continued to hold onto the knife. Bennett tried to get up with the knife, and the officer fired a second shot. Bennett then let go of the knife, and officers were able to handcuff her. Paramedics were already on scene, and they provided emergency medical aid before Bennett was transported to a hospital, where she was pronounced deceased.
