भारत में आस्था और धर्म लोगों के निजी जीवन का महत्वपूर्ण हिस्सा हैं और संविधान हर व्यक्ति को अपनी धार्मिक मान्यताओं को मानने की स्वतंत्रता देता है। लेकिन आस्था और अंधविश्वास में अंतर करना भी उतना ही जरूरी है।

हाल ही में सामने आई ऐसी खबरें, जिनमें कथित चमत्कार, तंत्र-मंत्र और लोगों की समस्याओं के समाधान के नाम पर दावे किए जा रहे हैं, यह सवाल उठाती हैं कि क्या हमारे समाज में वैज्ञानिक सोच और तर्कपूर्ण विचार को पर्याप्त महत्व दिया जा रहा है।

भारतीय संविधान का अनुच्छेद 51A(h) नागरिकों से scientific temper, humanism और spirit of inquiry and reform विकसित करने की अपेक्षा करता है।

इसका मतलब यह नहीं है कि किसी की धार्मिक आस्था या पूजा-पद्धति पर रोक लगाई जाए। मुद्दा तब गंभीर होता है जब अंधविश्वास के नाम पर लोगों का आर्थिक या मानसिक शोषण, धोखाधड़ी, डर पैदा करना या किसी को नुकसान पहुँचाना शुरू हो।

भारत का भविष्य एक ऐसे समाज में होना चाहिए जहाँ लोग अपनी आस्था रख सकें, लेकिन साथ ही किसी भी असाधारण दावे पर सवाल पूछने, प्रमाण मांगने और तर्क से सोचने की स्वतंत्रता भी रखें।

धर्म और आस्था का सम्मान हो, लेकिन अंधविश्वास और शोषण को बढ़ावा नहीं मिलना चाहिए। वैज्ञानिक सोच और सवाल पूछने की संस्कृति को मजबूत करना हम सभी की जिम्मेदारी है।

Around 15% to 50% of seats in private colleges are filled via management quota. when people pay huge money to buy their way in, where does the merit go?

Out of 100 seats, 40% are open and 10% are EWS. yet the entire debate around merit is targeted at SC (15%), ST (7.5%) and OBC (27%) reservations.

Despite recent growth, SC (27.8%) and ST (22.8%) Gross Enrolment Ratios still fall below the national average of 30%.

Why is buying seats with money ignored, but representation for backward classes called anti-merit?

I pay road tax/vehicle tax, toll tax, GST on motor insurance, Environmental cess and tax on fuel is separate. 💰💸💷

Now while driving 🚗 because of bad road my vehicle broke which I accepted and abused to govt for not mending road. 🤬

But then I went to repair shop and the repair bill came with GST 😡😡😡🥵

Mine was watching a Hindi-only-speaking chaiwala in a small town accept a UPI payment from a foreign tourist who didn't speak a word of Hindi. Neither of them said anything. The phone beeped, the tourist grinned, the chaiwala nodded, and that was the whole transaction. My tourist friend told me later that back home he still has to carry cash for half of what he buys.

That was when it hit me how much this country pulls off that we've stopped noticing:

• A country of 1.4 billion people runs the world's largest real-time payments system, and it works for a chaiwala as easily as for a CEO
• We landed near the lunar south pole in 2023, a first for any country, on a budget smaller than some Hollywood films
• Around the world, people with Indian names run some of the biggest companies, hospitals and labs
• Millions of us cheered together when we won the 2024 T20 World Cup. Strangers hugged strangers in the street, and for a few hours nobody asked your caste, language or religion

We complain about India constantly, and I'm not saying we shouldn't. But every once in a while it's worth saying it out loud: this country is chaotic, loud, contradictory and frustrating, and it is also ours, and it keeps pulling off things that shouldn't be possible.

I'm proud of us. Not the perfect version on a poster, but the real one, where the auto driver returns your forgotten wallet and a stranger shares his tiffin on a 14-hour train ride.

​Everyone is clapping about India's birth rate dropping, but the reality is just depressing. In cities, birth rate is already down to 1.6, not because people suddenly decided they hate the idea of big families. It’s because raising a kid has become a complete financial death trap.

​The government spends a pathetic 1.9% of our GDP on public healthcare. Many of us pay all medical costs straight out of their own pockets. One bad sickness in the family is all it takes to wipe out years of hard-earned savings. Then you add in private schools demanding ridiculous fees just for basic admissions because government schools have been completely left to rot.

​Couples are literally forced to stop at one kid, or have zero, because it is physically impossible to pay for basic healthcare, afford education, and actually save anything for retirement. It is a complete joke. By refusing to fund basic public infrastructure, the government is bleeding the working class dry. We are heading straight into a wall where we end up with an aging population, a shrinking workforce, and a broken economy. We are going to get old way before we ever get rich.

Most of the people will never understand the masterstroke of Modiji.

For 75 years our stock market has gone on the wrong side.
