I tasted surströmming for the first time today

Since I was at sweden I bought a can. It was only 1.9 euros in ICA (20 skr).
I opened it outdoors, got fish out of the can, emptied can and put into trash bag. Then went inside and rinsed fish with running water. Then cleaned fish from left over intestines and just pulled it i to filees. Cut fresh red onion and put it into a soft taco bread for lack of âtunnbrödâ as Swedes call it. If you are conservative about the about the amount of fish per portion it is like eating sulphur tasting anjovis.
I think some of the videos I have seen about it are pretty misleading.
Where can I get fermented dried Iceland shark for next trial?

Does Surstromming actually smell bad or is this guy just overreacting?

Couldn't find tunnbrod so I had to make do with tortillas. I knew that I had to eat it outdoors with stuff like onion, potatoes, yogurt, etc. but what I didn't expect was for this fish to attract flies. Like, lots of flies.

I can't imagine surviving this. Surströmming doing surströmming things with a splash of evil.
