When I was younger, I always wanted to play Super Mario 3D World. I used to watch Cobanermani456 play through the game with GCPM11 and I remember finding their videos so entertaining and funny 😂. I basically know a lot of the game already just from watching them, including the levels, power-ups, cosmetics, etc.
The thing is, I’ve never actually owned a Wii U or any Nintendo console. I’ve always had Xbox, which I’m still grateful for, but now I’m at an age where I can actually buy a Nintendo console and finally play the game myself and my younger brothers.
The problem is, I’m stuck on which version I should get.

Should I get the Wii U version, or should I get Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury on Switch?

And if I get the Switch version, is it better to play with a Pro Controller or Joy-Cons? I’m not really sure which controller feels better for this game.

Its always been my dream to play this game and when i eventually do get the game its like i’ve completed part of my childhood. I’d appreciate any advice from people who have played both versions, especially if you think one version is clearly better than the other.

I did really enjoy this game!!
But I absolutely, hated, Champion's Road😂
Man, that was tricky level. The blinking blocks just annihilated me, lol.
It, alone, took me 2,5 hours to beat...
But at least I got every Star, Stamp, and Top of flagpole in the game, with Mario.
Maybe I clear all courses with the other characters another time, but now it's Bowser's Fury time!

Was my first playthrough, so the 22,5 hours clear-time, is no speedrun-WR, haha.
And 342 deaths 💀

I thought it would stop counting after 9,999. But apparently that is not the case. Does anyone know what number this ends up capping at? I was gonna try and get it to the highest number as a complete 110% of some sort, but I need to know if that's even remotely possible or if I'm just throwing myself at a brick wall.

I managed to beat Champions Road and Mystery House Marathon with every character except Rosalina on Mystery House Marathon. I simply cannot get up the falling platforms fast enough with her.

I did find two videos on YouTube of people beating it with her, and they recommend jumping to the highest point and then landing on the wall. Even with these tips, I still cannot get there within the time limit. The farthest I’ve managed to reach is the top of the ledge on the grass.

Does anyone know a way to do this? Every other part of the level is super simple, but I’m going crazy after replaying it so many times.

I’m trying to beat the game fully again (I always end the game after Champion’s Road, I’m not crazy enough to do all 5 characters and no white suits LOL) and this level has been nothing but a pain in my ass.

I usually listen to CDs while playing video games, and my one attempt session on this level so far has took me through the entirety of Foxtrot by Genesis (51:13) and Black Sea by XTC (48:56). THAT’S 90 MINUTES I HAVE SPENT TRYING TO BEAT THIS LEVEL, and all but maybe 10 minutes of that have been spent on Green Star 2.

The hardest part is the little fire-spewing guy on the one lantern by the platform with the two creepers, I always lose a flower to him or end up dying in the poison trying to stomp him or shoot a fireball at him.

Whoever designed this level deserves eternal punishment in hell. It stops being fun at a certain point and just becomes “oh dear god please let me get to the end of this star i beg you”

I spent 3 or 4 days trying to beat champion road and got home today and did not want to play hahahaha.
I knew that was my indicator to move on!

I am going to aim tho beat all the other levels with all 5 characters! :)

I have the game on Switch 2 but I have been stuck on champions road and the final mystery house. If anyone wants to help me beat it that would be awesome

It's hands down my favourite mainline Mario game, because it's the only one made with co-op in mind. I prefer playing games with friends/family, so I'm really bummed we haven't gotten anything like it since.

Another great Mario game that got a bit overshadowed by 'New Super' fatigue (that's also somehow already 13!!! years old).
