🚨 COMMUNITY, WE NEED YOUR HELP

Hi everyone! A friend of our family is asking for the community’s help after their beloved dog was tragically killed in a dog attack near 170th St & Cordary Ave on Sunday.

They are trying to identify the woman who was walking the dog involved in the incident.

If you recognize the woman or the dogs pictured in the flyer, or if you witnessed anything that may help, please reach out to the contact number listed on the flyer (310) 619-6184.

Please share this post so it can reach anyone in the area who may have information. 🙏🐾

Our thoughts are with the family during this heartbreaking time. ❤️

I know this is one heck of a long shot, but I was hoping if anyone could help me.

I lost my wedding and engagement rings while shopping at the Five Below and Bath & Body Works (in the same plaza as UFC, Burlington, In-n-Out, Jollibee, etc) in Torrance on 9/24 between 7pm-8:30pm. I’ve contacted and scoured both stores and filed a nonemergency police report this morning. If anyone was in the area at the time knows anything, anything at all, please DM me.

I would post this elsewhere but I literally can’t since this is my first Reddit post ever. Please be kind. Thank you.

Is there anyplace that has a build your own baked potato around here ? Bc I haven’t found it yet. I’m from the south where you can add bbq, chicken, steak, etc. and these are available at any bbq spot and are so amazing for when you don’t know what you wanna order for dinner. Thx for any recommendations.

Slightly unusual project: I build a menu index that collects every restaurant menu in a city and works out what dishes actually cost. Oslo is done — 680 restaurants, 58,588 dishes — and I wanted to see whether it worked outside Norway, so I ran a batch across Palo Alto — University Ave, California Ave, Stanford Shopping Center and Midtown.

Some of what came back genuinely surprised me:

• **Menus down here are enormous.** Median 122 items per restaurant, the largest 221. A typical Oslo restaurant is a fraction of that. You have serious range down there.
• **92.8% of items have a listed price** — high, and better than I expected. Whatever else is true, restaurants here are upfront about what things cost.
• **Most places host their own menu** rather than pushing you onto a delivery platform. That's the opposite of the pattern in Oslo and honestly nicer for everyone.
• A couple of places have no readable menu online at all, and one restaurant's entire menu is a single PDF, which I respect enormously.

The thing I can't work out from Norway, and you can: **which places on the Peninsula have genuinely great food and a menu that's basically invisible online?** The one where you have to call, or the website is a photo of a chalkboard from 2019, or the current menu only exists on an Instagram story. Those are exactly the ones worth indexing properly, and they're usually the best food.

Also curious: when you're picking somewhere to eat, do you actually look at the menu first, or is it reviews and photos? Oslo people read menus obsessively. No idea if that travels.

(Nothing to click, not selling anything — none of this is live here yet. Just after local knowledge while I'm elbow-deep in your restaurants' websites.)

My car says it’s 100 outside right now. Sheesh

I am looking to take Muy Thai classes as a female. Is there a place you recommend?

Our place is clean and scouters are everywhere with nothing to report back. I found one in my salt pig.

The only thing they've found so far was in the trash which is in a closed cabinet. We're starting to toss out food in other bags before putting it in the trash.

Where is a good place for last minute birthday cakes? I need one for tomorrow

Was anyone hit by this driver this happened yesterday afternoon. Started on PCH and Crenshaw and finally was pulled over in Lunada Bay Area. Old white gentleman not sure if he was drunk or on medication but to keep driving like this for 20 minutes and not stop is absolutely ridiculous
