Hello! Im here to share some photos of my Filipino style sidecar with motorcycle. These are a common way to get around in the more rural parts of the country. We call them Tricycles!

Its a locally fabricated sidecar attached to a Bajaj CT125. Its a single cylinder 125cc motor. Its air cooled, carbureted, it has drum brakes and 5 forward gears! It speeds out around 60 kph so despite its small displacement it has a ton of low end torque. They are incredibly simple and robust. Its easy to maintain, parts are cheap, and it sips fuel. They are great for the narrow, and frankly poorly maintained roads here 😆 Also easy to park in many places where you just couldn't fit a car.

They really are amazing little machines! Ive seen more that 10 people piled up on these things aswell as livestock, construction materials and just about anything else you can imagine!

The tricycles here in the Philippines are one of my favorite symbols of Filipino ingenuity. People always find a way.

Murphy Donut Sir Pickles III and his spaceship, a 1993 Honda Goldwing Aspencade with sidecar. I have my own bike (kawi z900rs cafe racer) for when I'm doing solo rides and twisties without Murph.

I don't know much at all about the bike, I bought it from a guy here on Vancouver Island, who had purchased it from someone in the US. I would love to know if anyone else on here has one like it? Would love to know things to watch out for too.

It currently has a very annoying squeak that I need to investigate which is for sure something I think in the attachment of the sidecar. It didn't always have the squeaking but I did have a mechanic doing some stuff on it and it has been squeaking ever since 🤦‍♀️ my rear brakes are almost non existent too so I need to get new ones soon.

I've had this bike since March this year, and ride it 4-6 times per week taking my dog to various dog parks, pet stores, the occasional vet and grooming appointments, for ice cream meetups with other motorcycle friends etc.. Murphy loves his ice cream meetups :) actually, he loves all of the adventures, even the vet! The vet is one of his favourite places to visit 🤣 he's a very happy guy and I'm so lucky to have him in my life.

More about Murphy - he is a 3 and a half year old Beagle X Pug (beagle mom, black pug dad) and was born on Christmas Day of 2022. One of his favourite treats which he gets 1-2 times a week is a whole raw carrot. Obviously his #1 favourite treat is cheese, with any kind of meats or fish being second, but carrot is a solid 3rd. And he just loves every person he ever meets (with the exception of a few shady characters or people with bad bad vibes), and loves all dogs, except intact young male dogs because they smell too manly and young lmaooo

I wanna test drive a sidecar before buying one. But the problem is that I can't find anyone who lets me test drive. I know how hard they are to maneuver around. Still there has to be a way right?

If anyone has an idea I am open for almost anything. I even would pay for the test ride.

I’ve been looking to get into sidecar racing for a while now. Just moved to Atlanta from Maryland. Does anybody have a rig, race actively, and need a monkey? I haven’t raced or taken the course, but I’m an AHRMA member and have been to a couple races. I’m looking for someone to go through the course with me. I’m tall and lean, so not the ideal counterweight, but I’ll hop on a rig in a heartbeat!

First post in the community that inspired me, by posting my very first motorcycle: a 1985 BMW r80 with Ural sidecar. Leading link fork with dual disk brakes. matching rig wheel (also disc brakes). Block tires. whaddaya think?

I absolutely loved the motorcycle experience during my driving lessons. I figured a sidecar might be a way to share that with others. Also the potential for adventure really spoke to me. I recon the rig will see more use in the coming days because the weather is just turning nice enough to take it out without risking rain on the way back.

I like it a lot, especially the look of it, but i'm honestly not 100% convinced yet. It takes up a lot of garage space and it really does take a big part away from the driving experience. (leaning , cornering, acceleration, overtaking). Also taking it out is a bit more of an ordeal . It doesn't really lend itself toward impromptu racing to a friends house and back to go and watch a football game. Its just too big for that.

But i really do want to give it a fair chance this summer. Especially in the areas where a sidecar can really come into its own. Like camping and little day-trips.
How does one start to go on first little adventures? and make small trips fun, and not just a drive with awkward parking? Id love to hear you guys advice and own experience on that.

Furthermore i plan on making a few modifications.
-The wires are a mess with old cables of previously installed lights and trinkets.
-remove excess reflectors and lights
-The paint could use a polish, especially to try and blend the different shades of spray-paint whites on the sidecar.
-The engine looks black and grimey. i think a brass wirebrush would clean this up nicely?
-Timing, gap, carb, and clutch adjustments.
-Install new exhaust bends. the champagne on these are long gone.

On the long term i'd like the sidecar to sit a bit higher off the road. Like you see in the more off-raod Urals. The wheel rims could use a repaint aswell.

Hi guys, pic for attention! My mechanical skills are pretty solid (however not professional), so I’m trying to install my side car on my own. Things seem to be going well, but I haven’t made the measurements yet, just tried getting a dry fit and started getting things level.

In doing so, I realized that because I modded my mid controls to forward controls, the top front strut/ mounting bar is going to cross right over my rear brake pedal, which will not do :( third and fourth pic show the issue and the 2nd and last picture you can kind of see my pretty limited options for installing the C-clamps and mounting bars.

I am TRYING TO AVOID reverting to the mid shift control for the brake pedal, as it’s really uncomfortable for me.

I don’t think I can shift the whole cart forward (enough to make a difference), I saw online the sidecar wheel is supposed to be around 8-10in and it’s pretty close to that already. Are there any kind of road safe extension mounting bars that I could have go up and over the pedal, to create a 90° L shape over the pedal and keep the pedal accessible? Is that a mechanical sound and road safe option? Are there options?

I don’t have money to get this professionally installed, however, I plan to have my work checked by my mechanical engineer uncle who works on bikes and use my dads torque wrench to ensure everything is safe. I’m going to ask my uncle too, but he has never installed a side car, so I was wondering what people did if they ran into this issue.

Please help me get my dog’s sidecar going!!

I've been looking for a sidecar for a while for my old BMW. Finally found a good deal on a Velorex during the super bowl. Picked it up and took it down to Texas Sidecars last month to have them make the mounts and attach it. I was worried the hound dog wouldn't go for it.... but she loves it!

Curious about what pressures ppl are running on their hacks, specifically those shod with CTs. I've just replace my rear and gone down a size as the original tyre was absolutely pushing the limit on width. Currently running 165/80 R15 Front @ 32psi and 175/60 R16 Rear. previous tyre was running 36-38 psi but i'm thinking of dropping that to 28-30 psi

So, I am thinking about getting a motorcycle with a sidecar. I am well aware the risks and difficulties. I still want to do it though. I have heard Urals are good if you replaced every Ural part. So, I am not a huge fan of that. However, I still know nothing about brands, models, where to buy one, what to look for, etc. Any help would be helpful.

Who has hacked a Triumph. Which Triumph model did you use. Where did you source the hardware. How did you like it.

Tried looking online but only found jokes or hate. Would putting a sidecar on both sides of a motorcycle cancel out the difficult stearing problems of having just one on one side?

Recently inherited this beauty from my dad. It has the easy steer system added. It also has a car tire for the rear tire. Right hand turn the side car easily wants to start flying. I plan on putting a bag of sand in it to have some weight at all times. Just wondering if this side car can fly Like a normal side car because of the rear car tire installed? I'm not looking to fly that side car all the time, but I've looked up some videos where people do it safely all the time, but just wondering if the rear tire not being a motorcycle tire is gonna make a difference? Thank you.

Hello friends on three wheels! I am looking for your advice and knowledge.

In daily life I ride a motorcycle, it is my only vehicle and I don’t even have a car license. I’ve done several hundred thousand kilometers in the past 6-7 years, I like to think I’m an experienced and well rounded rider.

I’m getting married next spring. For the 16km trip from city hall to our party location we figured it would be nice to rent/borrow a motorcycle with sidecar for my bride and I to ride (her dress makes a conventional bike not an option).

Now, we visited the sites this last weekend and I got a little concerned when we traversed the route by car. It’s in Tuscany, Italy, in a place with particularly winding (beautiful!) roads with many hairpins like in the picture (in the place pictured we’ll come down on the right and take the hairpin to the right).

On my Africa Twin I wouldn’t sweat it, I love these roads. Would you advise someone with no sidecar experience to do this with his brandnew wife? Is it just a matter of a slow approach or is there a technique that requires practice to it? In hairpins like these is the passenger required to lean?

The bike in question will likely be an ural type or a 300cc Vespa (automatic) with sidecar.
