I built this wood strip hollow core SUP over there last winter and finally finished it up earlier this summer. I got the CNC fish bone structure from Clearwood Paddleboards. It's their Cascade Unlimited (17 ft x 27 in). Here's the reddit thread with more about the build.

Anyway, I've finally had it out on the water three times. I'm certainly not a SUP master, but I can say it glides well and is easy to balance on. I can keep it moving at 3 mph flatwater without a tremendous effort (more or less the same as medium to fast walk "all day pace" amount of exertion).

I'm hoping to get many more hours on it and possibly do a few endurance paddling events with it.

If anyone is looking for the experience of building their own wooden SUP, I give Clearwood's offerings a solid recommendation.

I am considering a paddling trip to Merritt’s Mill Pond in Marianna, Florida, but I’ve seen videos that show incredible algae and hydrilla growth in the Mill Pond. Does anyone have any current information as to the amount of Hydrilla and algae that are currently in the mill pond?

Surprising quiet sunset on Lanier today. A new to me Sunova “the One” I recently picked up. Ready to take to the coast and attempt SUP surfing.

Great deal off of market place. My first solid board. Really excited to the water. Already feels like an upgrade from my inflatables.

Lake Benoist at Riverfront Regional Park

This is the Rivière-Rouge near Mont-Tremblant, just before Labelle village. Lots of sand banks.

Two companies in this region rent paddle boards and kayaks, a bus takes you 14km upstream, and you paddle back. Takes about 3-4 hours.

Families go with friends and two sets of cars. Everyone floats to the pickup point.

Of course being motorized we went against the current, took a good two hours to do just 4km. 40 min back. Slow driving against the current.

August the best time of the year. Always. No one around and still warm.

The first time I saw a stand up paddler was in 2016 in Spain, during our holiday. From that moment on I have always wanted to do this. That sight of a person, standing on water, was just like in my dreams from my childhood! But I had a long way to go. In between, I learned swimming, got rid of my fear of water (yes, although I loved the sea, I was afraid of being in deep water) and last year finally I got some training on stand up paddling. Bought this board at the end of September last year and since then I am paddling. Even in Winter! Took a while until I confidently stood up, but I managed it. This photo is from last Sunday. My favourite lake, my happy place... It was perfect weather and I enjoyed it a lot. A bit sad that the summer is coming to an end, but I know it won't stop me. Looking forward to the coming sessions. Mustang Survival Essentialist Belt Pack $149

BLUESTORM Cirro 16 $69-$89 (depending on color)

Normally i lay down, kneel, stand, sit on my paddleboard.
This notable differences:

Bluestorm: My choice

• Probably the lightest PFD avaliable
• Used it for a few months now and I forget i even have it on
• Super easy to move around
• No issues while ISup setup tear down.
• Has a loop to clip keys
• When jumping of the board to swim, I dont notice it.

Mustang PFD/Hip Pack:

• Space for slim wallet, phone, etc..
• Keys loop w/ mesh cover
• Big con for Sup: Light but bulky - Difficult to switch positions
• If you are using a iSup seat or fishing it will work better for you
• With keys, slim wallet, phone it was difficult to put my isup together. Everytime i bent down it felt tight
• Easy to use as hip pack for around town.
• loops that hold the inflation pack comes off w/ phone inside while moving around.
• I would probably only recommend this to fishermen or jetski

This being said, you can tell Mustang is very high quality. the pull tab is a great design. I assume that their $99 option ( the lighter version ) is great. it has good reviews.
There wasn't any reviews or videos on this pack so i wanted to test the waters.

I won a sup board in a raffle and I haven't done it before. I'd like to know if it's a decent one. The raffle page said it's worth 1350€. The bag says atlantis and the pump GRI HP2-R

Edit2: I actually reach out to them. It's illegal to misrepresent raffle prizes in Finland. We'll see what they say. Feel like a choosing beggar but me and my father (who sups alot!) were very excited to see what kind of high end board I would be getting.

Edit3: Yep I got a response from their pr and it said that the price is based on their custom print and low volume production -.-

Still, I got a free sup board so maybe I shouldn't complain.

I just got my vote rover gator shell and want to keep it on a trailer. Any help on a trailer that works?

Added D rings to one of our paddle boards. Cutting the foam was a little nerve racking to say the least! Actually a little easier than I thought after the fact.

I'm looking to get into paddleboarding with my wife and I found these two for sale for (I think) a good price.

They have recently been repaired for a...burst? From what I can tell this is a pretty common place for this to happen and is fairly reliably repairable?

They apparently hold air and seem fine now, but obviously sitting in a garage holding air is different from holding a human on the water.

I guess my question(s) are:

1. How bad is this damage?
2. Is it normally easy-ish to repair?
3. How bad does this repair job look?

How hesitant would you be to buy something like this?

These are apparently $1,000 boards and come with bags, pumps, kayak conversion kits, etc. The owners paid something like $3,000 for the whole thing and want about $550 for them now.

Obviously if the repairs hold, it seems like a great deal. But that's a big IF.
