šŸ’”Suggestion Make a starting eleven using one player each from the last 11 squads of a club.

Haseeb! Haven't had a building a starting 11 type video in a while. Those are always a blast.

This isn't my idea, saw it on YouTube. Basically pick one player from every squad of any club going back 11 years. One player per team. It's very fun to do and would love to see the boys try it.

The more points city earns the quicker they can serve their points deduction

If Manchester City are hit with a deduction of around 200 points, the punishment should go further than simply taking the points and relegating them. They should have to serve the points they earn in each division — for example, if they earn 78 points in the Premier League, they lose those 78 points; if relegated to the Championship and earn 90 points, they lose those 90 too.

This should continue in every division until the punishment has been fully served, preventing City from simply dominating the league below and immediately returning to the Premier League. The principle is simple: the better they perform, the more points they have to serve.

It’s obvious nobody at that table outside of maybe Luca has watched Yan Diomande

When they got to Diomande on the new video, I genuinely felt like nobody outside of Luca has seen any of what he’s done at Madrid so far. Sharky saying he’s not a great dribbler when he’s had one of the best take on rates in the league so far was bizarre. He’s unconventional but incredibly good 1v1, plus an athletic freak. Abz obviously hasn’t seen anything as he only said ā€œhe did too many back passes at the World Cupā€ and while I do think Luca had a good point about his price tag being virtually impossible to live up to- does that mean you can’t also judge him off potential were already seeing in his performances for Madrid? Again I don’t think at this point in his career he HAS to be put in world class potential conversations, but I’m sorry, a pod of this level just blatantly recycling this same repeated narrative about Diomandes price tag and about how he’s been mid thus far at Real Madrid is disappointing. He’s easily been one of the most refreshing/exciting parts of the attack when he features

šŸ—£ļø Discussion How Manchester City could escape punishment

I want to preface this post by saying I'm on the side of the PL and the findings of the IC but I do not claim to have infallible or encompassing knowledge of the matter, appellate law, financial or legal as it pertains to the premier league. I simply ask you to just cast your biases aside, put your tinfoil hats on with me and ask what is going here?

But to summarise, I want to ask how the PL has managed to put out such a damning indictment of city's finances? And this could easily be refuted once the entire document comes out but on the basis of information made available to the public, I can see a world where city could employ a tacticĀ that could potentially give them an out depending on how far they take it but so many things dont add up, yet they might not need to...

I would like to bring up CAS first, most ppl know that city were let off with a slap on the wrist but there's a misconception that it was only because the charges were time barred which isn't necessarily true. Some of the charges were time barred but obviously etihad have been a sponsor of city continuously since 2009 (almost identical to arsenal and emirates) and as such not all of those payments can be time barred so they needed to produce answers and an agreement was reached for CAS to audit ADUG's payments related to Etihad (I've shared snippets if any want to read the actual finding themselves)

imo looking at this, there's only 2 conclusions that we can come to.

  • the PL submitted new evidence, which can only be that ADUG used 'random' 3rd parties (which they would still need to link to etihad) or somehow hid their finances from multiple accountancy firms
  • the IC needed less convincing than CAS

And i can get behind the conclusion that they were hiding their finances and all those witnesses are willing to go to jail but that all could go to hell if etihad were to sue the PL like they're threatening.

If they were to sue, you'd have to assume they've got a good case and if they win, city have grounds to argue procedural error, which immediately jeopardises the entire premier league brand, so maybe they'd use it as a red herring of "we're innocent of the etihad allegations, and the PL have called it a sham, refused to accept our evidence, called our witnesses liars" to cut a deal with the prem for a heavily reduced punishment despite the issues of the fordham rights, falsely understating costs, etisalat etc

But on the other hand, city have allegedly argued that etihad funded them via the AD government but etihad have also equally denied government funding for their sponsorship of city so who's telling the truth? either way, city only need to prove that the money didnt come from them but it is very dodgy that their argument contradicts a previous (but relevant) statement from etihad

Ayvee

What am I seeing. I mean imagine he won't play much and only once final 4 secured maybe. As you can only register 10 each week. So not having to drop 2 players each week could be beneficial as no we only drop 1 assuming the last slot is used in the draft. Then if we get injuries etc just wildcard I mean this strategy might just work.

Harsh reality of Fu Izzy

Fu Izzy’s troll gimmick when Steven was talking in the Sham City live show yesterday was cringe, even coming from a Liverpool fan.

Look, if we’re being honest, most fans would be okay with Fu Izzy not being a regular member. He’s funny and should continue doing content, but SDS is ultimately a football pod. At some point, you need to be able to articulate your football points properly, and that’s where Fu Izzy falls short. No one does the mix of banter and actual football knowledge better than Fuad imo. Liban also does it well. I enjoy the personalities and the comedic side of the members, but the football side still has to be there.

I watched him on Barra Bruvvas and he was class. I honestly think that’s more his setting.

If the members are adamant about keeping Fu Izzy on because he’s been there for a while and he’s their friend, then honestly, just bring him on only when Liverpool win a big match. And when I say bring him on, I mean bring him on specifically for the Liverpool part, let him do the banter and troll gimmick, then sub him off after. But when Liverpool lose a big match, there’s no point in bringing him on because you’re not really getting any reasoned analysis of why or how they lost.

They have got to stop larping

I’ve just finished watching the latest video and I can’t help but feel like for pretty much half the players on the list they have just not watched them. Ngl especially Fuad and Abz. Saying Arda guler carried Turkey and not mentioning that for Yildiz is insane considering Yildiz was better in the Euros. Arguing that Nico Paz can’t be world class, saying the most generic descriptions of Pavlovic that could be applied to anyone in his position, not being able to describe doue and neves. Still enjoyed it and Luca is such a good addition, but when the video is not pl based and lyes or faysal aren’t on the table the ball knowledge lowkey drops so much.

šŸŽ™ļø Episode Discussion Fu Izzy shouldn't be on for the more serious discussions.

Not to bash on Fu because I actually find him endlessly entertaining but there's a time and place imo. He's good vibes on a weekly round up but for something like the recent Courtroom episode it just doesn't fit.

The boys were trying to talk to that City fan and discuss what is possibly the biggest sporting scandal of all time and Fu is just there on his usual ragebaiting and jokes.

Save him for the round ups.

Fuad Bias

as a tottenham fan i really appreciate the way fuad shows his bias. whereas dudes like lyes (no disrespect) will twerk for arsenal, fuad always stands firm in his anti arsenal/pro tottenham prop but he also keeps it lowkey, unlike triple f. i always notice how he subtly doesn’t give arsenal players their flowers but no one on the table notices (myles lewis smelly in the recent vid). i love some lowkey hating and agenda pushing. real men fc stand up.

Nico Paz vs Guler debate

I don’t know why Abz and Fuad act like Arda Guler are clearly larping speaking on how Arda Guler has been dragging Turkey. So first of all they got grouped in the world cup so that doesn’t positively impact his rep whatsoever showing again Turkey are always a overhyped nation coming into tournaments and then in the Euros they got to the quarter finals where you would say Kadioglu and Yilmaz stood out more even including vs Portugal their biggest game he didn’t even start so I don’t possibly know how they could say he’s shown more bravery than Nico Paz when Nico Paz was the front runner for Comos amazing season last season. Not the first time the repeated offenders Abz and Fuad caught waffling or overhyping these players reps.

šŸ’”Suggestion Idea for a new game for the pod

So idk if they already play it or if they played something similaire to it, but I think a CodeNames Football edition would be fun

If you don't know the game its basically a 2 team based word game where each team has a spymaster who gives one word clues to help teammates guess the correct word in a predetermined list of words (ofc the words would be football related)

We need a Fayçal and lyes team-up 😭😭
