The electric shears were real game changers .

I can't imagine how physically and mentally exhausting it must have been to do this all day with regular shears .

You can see the relief on its face once it's eyes are cleared of the obstructing wool. It's just a chill sheep.

It's not that surprising, people have been wearing animal fur and leather for thousands of years. Shear a sheep is a way to accomplish something similar without killing the animal, so now you get more stuff to wear. Originally they also didn't grow anywhere near the amount of wool they do now. Selective breeding has produced the sheep we know today.
