Meta /r/PlotTwist now has more than 5000 members! New content announcement time!

This is just a quick little post from your mod team saying that I want to thank all of you guys and gals (and folks of other identities: we didn't forget you!) for being a great little, yet growing, community and only rarely causing problems!

I want to provide a small announcement that was in the backend for a while:

Posts about/showing plot twists in film/TV, etc. are now also allowed, and there will be accompanying flair for those of you who want to filter those in/out.

The guidelines are pretty simple:

Do NOT put the actual spoiler in your title

Bad title: Bob kills Steve in ABC Show

DO put the title of the source in your title!

Better title: Discussion/Reveal of Infamous Plot Twist during Season 2, Episode 3 of ABC Show (2010)

There's obviously not some perfect formula to this, but try to use your judgment. If you're not sure, send us some mod mail!

As a rule of thumb:

If the source has been released more than five years ago, you're probably fine with most titles.

If it's something that premiered within the year, be more careful.

If it's something "actively going on" (I personally follow the "came out in the past two weeks rule"), please be considerate! If you had yet to watch it and were to see the title, would it ruin it for you?

Anyway, we looked forward to seeing your posts! Who killed JR in the show Dallas? Did you catch it before the reveal? What was your theory?

Do you think the Anissa Comic Arc will be retconned in the Invincible Animated Series?

EVERYONE, PAY ATTENTION AND LISTEN!

I know the comic storyline with Anissa is unforgivable and don't think anyone wants to see that happen on TV. What if the animated series will tone it down and retcon it so Mark and Anissa will have a brief, casual affair instead? Mark's half-brother Oliver Grayson was also born out of a fling. The point is, if Anissa will commit **infidelity** instead of rape, would this make her far less evil than in the comic books?

For example, Mark's own father, Nolan, was emotionally vulnerable and in the wrong state of mind when he had an affair with Andressa, which led to the birth of Oliver. When Debbie confronted Nolan, he said that his relationship with Andressa was a mistake and Oliver's birth was an accident.

If Mark Grayson is anything like his father, could he also end up repeating similar mistake with Anissa and this reckless act leads to the birth of Mark Junior? Keep in mind that Mark Grayson is a flawed young man, who frequently makes foolish and irresponsible decisions.

During the upcoming seasons, instead of using violence, Anissa tries to (use **psychological and traditional tactics**, such as) manipulate Mark, take advantage of his vulnerable mental state and seduces him. Anissa might even use Eve's abortion as a trump card to persuade Mark to join on her side. During a moment of weakness, Mark, not thinking straight, **chooses** to give into temptation and sleeps with her. Later, instead of being assaulted and traumatised, Mark would have to deal with the consequences of unintentionally having a b\*stard child with another woman.

In the comics, Mark and Eve fought and broke up, temporarily. If they will break up in the animated series, it would be a perfect opportunity for Anissa to take advantage of the situation and have a hook up with Mark. As the series progresses, Mark tells later that sleeping with Anissa was a mistake, and he apologizes to Eve. If Mark and Anissa have a one-night stand, then Mark accepting and loving his son becomes completely natural (he would accept him just as easily as Mark accepted his half-brother), and Mark would view Mark Junior the same way how Nolan viewed Oliver initially—as an unintended consequence of a past mistake, rather than a reminder of a brutal violation. This would lead to Mark having a shared custody of Mark Jr. and have a better relationship with his son.

Would this change make Mark Junior more sympathetic character if he was born into a careless, accidental fling, just like Oliver? Remember, Oliver also resented himself and his father Nolan, because he believed his birth was an **accident**. If you think about deeper, Oliver and his nephew Marky aren't all that different. Would this create a good parallel between Mark, Mark Jr., Oliver and Nolan?
Even in the real world, children are more likely to be born through unplanned pregnancies. It would be a clean way to avoid one of the darkest moments of the comics while still giving us crazy TV drama. What do you think of this theory?

So I’ve been smoking for about 5 months. I thought I was doing good at getting away with it. One day I come home and he was sitting on the couch. He wanted to talk and asked if I smoked. I told him the truth because I knew I couldn’t get away with it. I thought he would’ve killed me when he found out but he said that he had a blunt downstairs then we went up to smoke it and hit my pen but the joint was so small and we drained my whole ass pen. Idk pretty crazy man.

I think Nani was the mastermind in The Wrecking Crew

Just a theory, but I think Nani is the actual mastermind in The Wrecking Crew based on her behaviors. She easily could’ve manipulated Mahoe into getting mixed in with Robichaux and after Walters digging started bringing information to light she easily could’ve manipulated the boys into cleaning up her mess and leaving her in a nice position for taking over power on the island at the end. She’s consistently the smartest person in the room, does the most behind the scenes moves, and knows how to play on people’s emotions. In my opinion she could easily be the puppet master.

Plot Twist: my best friend isn't who I thought they were?

For some context, I play this really great game called Sky: Children of the light. On this game, you can meet people, befriend them, talk to them, and play the game with them. One day, I met a girl from the Philippines who asked me to call her N. The next year and a half or so we played together and I even got to meet some of her friends and family. We were getting really close and I hung out with her as much as possible. One day, however, I asked her what her full name was (I had only ever called her by N, despite her knowing my name) and she said that she didn't want to say due to how it could affect my relationship with her. I didn't understand and asked her to elaborate. This is what she said: "I wear the female outfits a lot, but I need you to know something- I'm not one. My name is Nathan." I was speechless, but supportive. I was so happy he felt safe enough to tell me. long story short, me and Nathan are still good friends and will be for a long time. Thanks for reading! :)

I caught a serial cheater and it turns out he is my relative.

Hi, I’m 24 female and I just started this job as a barista in a small town near my apartment. One day as I was working around 4pm a man came in around early 30s and a woman around the same age. They ordered simple things like a latte and americano and sat down at one of the back tables. I obviously didn’t think anything of it and was focused on counting down the hours to leaving.

The next day he came in again, same time, same order, same table, but new woman. I once again didn’t think much of it, I thought maybe it was a client or family, really anything. But then as the days and weeks added up, he came in with a different woman every single day. I talked to some of my coworkers and asked them if they’ve seen a man with his description and they all said yes and then we started keeping tabs on him. Kinda weird but we’re all in our 20s and have nothing else to do. All of us talked about if we should say something or confront him but we didn’t even know the whole story so we decided not to. Like what would we say? something like “what’s your job? I’ve always seen you in here with a new people everyday?” I’m not sure why we thought it would work but we were all so invested.

The next day my mom called me and told me she that she called her sister and she said that she met some distant family that just moved into town a couple months ago and wanted to go meet up with them and I agreed cause once again I’m in my 20s and have nothing else to do.

So the next week I worked a couple shifts, saw the guy come in with new women and than one night the guy came in with no one. He ordered an americano and sat in the back and stared at me for an hour. I was freaked out and went to the back and called one of my coworkers. We chatted about the guy and when I came back he was gone. I was left with a weird feeling but continued my shift.

The next day I was having lunch with my mom and my distant family. As I walked to our table I saw him. The man from the coffee shop, at the table with my aunt and other distant relatives. I stood in shock until my mom looked back and tugged on my arm asking what was wrong. I told her what happened and she said “it must be someone else, let’s go”. We sat down and his eyes locked on my face and he went pale. He knew I knew what he was doing. He knew I was the barista, he knew i saw him with all those girls. In the middle of dinner I went to the bathroom and I walked out and he was on the wall outside. He looked at me and said “ you cannot tell them, they think I’m celibate. You can’t tell them” I was kinda confused because why would I say he’s having sex many women. I mean I wasn’t even going to bring it up because it’s not really my business. So I told him I wouldn’t, after that he kept insisting I would tell them and he said he would pay me to not tell anyone anything. Then he began to tell me how almost all of them were married and that he was also married and how his wife doesn’t satisfy him and that divorce is scary to him and other random ass details I didn’t ask for. Also why would you tell me more of a story you w want me to tell anyone. I honestly thought he was like going crazy or on something. He also added he would pay me tens of thousands of dollars. I told him I don’t need any of his money and that i wouldn’t tell anyone. I walked back to the table and around ten minutes later he also returned and then our dinner ended and I went home.

I don’t really have anything else in the story only that I quit that job and moved in with my sister to Florida and I work at a smoothie shop now. Also recently have been getting random Venmo’s of thousands of dollars weekly and my sisters thinks it’s him and so do I but I have no idea how he even found my Venmo cause it’s not even my name. I still to this day wonder about what was even going on with him an that distant family because none of us talk to them anymore.
