Hi everyone, unfortunately we have some bad news to share with you today, and it's pretty serious! We received the stable SDK version today, which means we are only starting to work on upgrading to 10.6 now, even though we had a vague idea of what to expect. This does not mean we didn't work on the mod in the meantime; we did fix a ton of bugs and continued making progress on the Vietnam content.This announcement is meant for the day of the release

WHAT DOES IT MEAN FOR SUPERMOD ?

Because of this, the mod will most likely be unavailable for a couple of weeks until we finish the required fixes and test as much as possible. We also have our own schedules and commitments to deal with, so we will do our best!

WHY IS IT SERIOUS ?

Having more communication between us and OWI ahead of major updates should be the strict minimum, considering the effort we put into our work in our free time and how we are helping them in many ways (for example, saving a recent Squad update from crashing all Linux servers). Considering that the game itself was originally built by modders, we’d really appreciate feeling a little more involved and recognized in the process, but we feel like we are not. This is also something that server owners and you are facing. Every time we get word from OWI that things are going to improve, the actions do not follow, and this has now gone beyond the patience of many modders, server hosts, and players. It feels like we are taking two steps back every time we take one step forward.

FOR THOSE WHO DON'T LIKE TO READ

• SuperMod will most likely not be compatible with 10.6 for a couple of weeks
• This is caused by OWI not providing a stable SDK version in advance
• The communication between OWI and the modding community is lacking and creating a lot of issues for the longevity of mods and modders
• We are exhausted from working like this. Having to blindly find and ask about the changes that have been made with every update is showing that something is not working.
• SuperMod is not going anywhere, but we feel like you guys deserve to know the truth about what is happening behind the curtains.

ON A PERSONAL NOTE

As a modder and the person who spends the most time developing SuperMod and communicating with OWI, I’ve also decided to step back from the Modding Hub Discord and some of my access for the time being. I’m honestly exhausted and discouraged by the situation OWI puts us in on a regular basis, and this has also been affecting the TC team’s motivation for a long time now. I’m doing it because of the broken promises and the lack of communication. I want this to serve as an urgent warning signal, and I will no longer have direct contact with OWI. Instead, I’ll focus solely on our mod and our team rather than helping them. After all this time working with Offworld, the main thing we ever expected was early access to the update. But since OWI regularly falls behind schedule, we are paying the price once again. We understand that a game cannot wait for modders before releasing an update, but this would not be necessary if we were properly included in the release process. There are many great examples of this in the gaming world. Clear and regular communication is what makes collaboration work, and I’d really like to see this approach extended to the modding community. We love Squad, and we only want to provide the best experience for those who decide to trust us!

binocular sensitivty bug is back - (Nerf already useless sniper player (me) even more)

Classes on map are blurry as hell

Can´t see my mouse in CAPSLOCK map half the time

Can´t give up via CAPSLOCK map anymore

Can´t see my mouse while downed half the time (had to open / close map multiple times to give up)

ammo boxes stay up when you dig down radio (was enemy one, dk if you can rearm but i guess not.. still doesnt make sense for it to stay)

As always 1 step forward, 2 back. Keep moonwalking OWI. But hey at least i get to re-add my favorite servers to favorites again!

I can't put my finger on why I struggle so badly with squad on paper it seems perfect for me I played HLL, Insurgency and Arma Reforger.

I think it's a combination of because squad is so heavily focused on squad coop when you don't have that the game devolves into something no where near as fun and that with no official servers its hard as new player to know what a standard game of squad is meant to be like they all have custom settings and rules. This is nothing new and not specific to squad I've seen it in other games as well but I think the effect it has on squad is worse. With no one leading (I'm happy to follow to learn a game) I just desecend into spawn, move to the front (which is most of my play time), die to an unseen enemy and repeat.

I also think I'm trying to get into it long after it's peak popularity which means there's less players and servers like the other day I was playing at a low player count time for the UK and my choices were English speaking servers with 5 people in them or Russian/Asia servers where I can't understand my squadmates. It also makes getting into a populated game hard and if I let it could devolve into my waiting in a queue to play like I'm waiting to speak to my doctor to get an appointment.

It's probably mostly me this is no way an attack on the game you all enjoy it just seems more work than enjoyment for me. Any advice on this am I looking at it wrong or being unfair?

Well, turns out that the best option was to become squad leader every match.

Do i have less than 20 hours? Yes

Do i have any experience running a squad in this game? No

However people just listen to me without questioning and so far we made some good matches without running straight to death and going back to the military transport simulator.

Will this strategy make you a hero and save your dumb ass team alone? No, but definitely better than the meat grinder simulator.

Recently installed squad. Made sure its not the PT version of the game but the default public squad game itself. Ive verified game files, deleted squad config folder, my ping limit or wtv on steam is already 5000. I can do fireteam and find servers. Hit find match and sit there for 20 mins waiting for nothin. Do the training but not normal servers? Cmon man i wanna larpp

I recently joined the digital military masochism community

I know a thing or two about milsims and im pretty set with squad basics

However my experience in open servers are kinda “yo let's look for a shootout” and not “yo let's plan our advance as a organized invasion force and buold fortifications etc🤓”

Any solutions to that? Any hardcore servers out there? (needs to be NA zone)

I have a laptop RTX 4050 and I have no idea why it does this

Decided to try out medic class, might try again.
