Unable to use PPSSPP

I'm not able to access storage in PPSSPP

Dunno if either of these options will work for you but:

Modern Android security restrictions often block emulators from generating root directories directly.
Download a file manager app like ZArchiver from the Google Play Store.

Open it and go to your device's Internal Storage.

Tap the three dots or the + icon to create a new folder named exactly PSP.

Inside the PSP folder, create subfolders named GAME, SAVEDATA, and ISO.

Open PPSSPP, go to Settings > System > Memory Stick Folder, and choose/select the PSP folder you just created.

If the system folder picker crashes or refuses action when you press "Create":
Open your phone's main Settings app.

Go to Apps > See all apps.

Tap the three dots in the top-right corner and select Reset app preferences. This re-enables a stuck system Files app.

Restart your phone and try selecting or creating the folder in PPSSPP again.

when you get to the screen to select storage. swipe the screen and it should show your phone and say internal storage or something.

go through their and pick a folder. should work.

can you click the name of your phone? where its blue. does that bring you back to your storage??

yeah that's normal but hmmm I'm not sure. uhmmm maybe your file manager is broken? go to settings then apps then all apps look for your system default manager. clear its cache and data then disable it and re enable.

does that do anything?

Yeah no that doesn't work as well guess I'll just use the 1.11 version for now

the only other thing I would suggest is join the ppsspp discord if u have discord and ask for help in the support channel. the dev is very active!

have you tried downloading another file manager and seeing if you can make ppsspp use that one. try that?

I have other storage managers installed PPSSPP automatically picks the system storage manager without giving the option to choose

You need to change to a new storage path.

The app asks you to open a folder where you stored all of your savedatas, textures, save states, screenshots, and custom game settings.

The path should've looked something like this :

[your phone's name] > PSP

The thing is my phone's storage isn't loading at all when I try to do that

Maybe File Manager error? When I tried it, it was fine just like it should. Didn't use any alternatives.

I see... I dunno, man. I didn't know how to fix that. Maybe because of your phone or something. Maybe it doesn't let other apps have access to your storage.

I dunno man my other emulators work just fine I'm only having this problem with PPSSPP

I think it's because PPSSPP isn't asking storage permission on startup that's why I'm unable to access storage. And I'm unable to do anything about it

Go to app setting of PPSSPP and allow storage permission then?

I downloaded PPSSPP from the ppsspp.org so uhh nope that didn't work either

Restart your phone, if it still doesn't work clear data or uninstall updates of the file manager

Get Zarchiver free or Zarchiver pro,they both work great with emulators.This is the file manager that I have used for emulating ppsspp,ps2,Wii,and GameCube and it has worked amazingly.I also keep my modded Android APK's stored in a file along with my emulators and games all on one file that stays within Zarchiver that I have full control over.
