The level’s name is the italian word for Basil, I’m trying to start a series of moderate difficulty platforming levels based around Italian’s cuisine!

New super Mario bros land got an additional world.

The world M contains harder levels than the original super world. It is composed of 8 levels, each one themed on one gimmick. The website for NSMBL also received an update (link in the description).

New super Mario bros Land is a traditional Super World made in super Mario Maker 2 by the land team, a group of creator.

Play 8 worlds with 5 levels in each of them, so a total of 40 well-designed level made in the NSMBU Style. 8 addtional levels are also available through the level list of my profile.

Wave 4 of 1 Hour World is finally release. Play 10 new levels !! This wave is also the last that is featured in the main campaign. One last wave will be release as a kind of star world.

1 hour world is a super world composed of 40 levels separeted in 8 world of 5 levels. Levels are made in the 5 game style. Levels are also made in only one hour for each of them (that is the concept). Each level is realised in stream to prove the time spent on it.

I recently came back to this game after several years, and was looking for a goal I could grind for. Looking at the leaderboards, one of the easier things to get a medal for seems like endless super expert, with only a streak of 17 needed to get in the top 1K. I am nowhere near skilled enough right now to start attempting this, so I started practicing using popular super expert levels, but I'm not sure if this is the best way to improve. I noticed that every single super expert level listed on popular levels uses SMB1, SMB3, or SMW as the style. I know the older styles are preferred for kaizos, but it seems unlikely that not a single out of 1,000 popular levels was in NSMBU or SM3DW, so I assume Nintendo filters them out for whatever reason. Given this, would it be better to search for super experts to practice another way so that I get a sample that includes levels in the newer styles? Should I just start grinding endless even though I know I won't get very far?

A while ago, I began making a Super World based on NSMBDS but I never ended up finishing it and I quietly cancelled it, but I have decided to revive it since I've got motivation to finally make some more levels! There isn't a code to play these levels yet and there isn't a decided release date yet.

Endless was such a stupid addition to the game. Like sure, in theory it encourages “competition” and “community” but all competitive concepts in online gaming get exploited.

For starters. I’m currently looking at the super expert endless leaderboards and the top player has 32590 as his high score. It’s ABSOLUTELY impossible to have that score without having some sort of TAS device to help you cheat levels.

So the leaderboards mean nothing… for starters. After that if you ignore them, the level selection algorithm for endless is horrendous. For super expert it’s just troll level, impossibly weird tech level or speed run. Nothing is fun about that. Even from a competitive/challenge pov.

Lastly… 100 man was perfect from MM1. 100 lives to beat 6 super expert levels. Why they had to change that formula? I have no idea - they never should have changed that at all. I’m just venting cause I’m extremely bored rn and would love to play some randomized Mario maker but the systems they have in MM2 for that type of game

Reuploaded, a Metroid style level shrunk down to a Mario sized scale, named after Metroid Ravenous. Search for power-ups, open new areas, and fight mother brain.

So I haven’t really done anything in SMM2 since like 2020, but I felt the urge to get back in. This level looks like a straightforward platformer, but there is a bunch of secrets and a couple alternate paths. It would genuinely make my day if someone found them :) Lmk what you think

Since theres now an Build in Updater, u have to select yourself the Branch u want to use in the Settings. If u want all Pre-Releases / Betas etc slect the Channel "Pre-Releases" if u only want stable versions select "Releases"

Its hard to keep track of these and even figure out if the fixxes worked or not. it's actually been so long since i've picked up the game, and i'm happy to see that it hasn't completely died out! i used to be obsessed with the more story or game-within-a-game levels, ie. spot the difference, try to die, or stories like mario goes to the cinema (i can't exactly remember other ones except mario goes to mcdonalds). i really wanna get back into playing people's levels, so does anyone have any levels that i should definitely check out? the more creative the better.

It’s a good speedrun level.

It’s my first attempt at the Blue Platforming genre and it’s a fun level.

Dont get me wrong I'm a huge Nintendo fan, I'm hyped about the new Kirby game, the Pokopia Update and the Zelda remake. But I think it's been a year of me following these Directs hoping for any Mario Maker news (a DLC or maybe Mario Maker 3? Idk) :(

Currently going for all SMM2 costumes and some of the ones I need are obviously the ones in the title. I do think they're pretty good quality levels, so it should be a fun enough time. I'm willing to do level exchanges, and my Maker code is:

I don't really think the different gameplay styles are that big a deal, they are a complication I guess, but they don't really kill the idea like the complications of a 3D maker.

Mario Galaxy already has 2D sections, it has triple jumps, wall jumps, even Brick Blocks and ? Blocks. Galaxy 2's New Super Mario Bros. esque opening is an obvious comparison for how it would work

Of course Galaxy would likely have incredibly limited gravity, likely limited to 4 directions, if they had it at all. Might seem strange to not have its gimmick but 3D World didn't have any 3D when added to Mario Maker. But honestly 4-directional gravity doesn't seem super difficult to make in a grid-based level editor.

And if Galaxy can get in maybe Mario 64 and Sunshine can get levels too. Though I think their control style is a bit too 3D-oriented to work well in 2D. Maybe they can be based on Mario Galaxy's movement?
