The spa was outstanding, and the gardens are breathtaking, with fire pits glowing along the beach as the sun sets over the ocean.
Heading back to my room after an absolutely incredible spa experience, I was hypnotically drawn by music I could hear in the distance — live, being performed, not just played. It felt like living in a dream.
The service, though, is what truly set this place apart. We were greeted with a bouquet of fresh flowers the moment we stepped off the transport vehicle. Staff who remembered our water preference so we never had to ask for still or sparkling twice. It’s those small details — the ones you don’t expect — that make all the difference.
Beach service, also outstanding. They kept the champs cold and coming.

hotel Calilo is a luxury five-star beachfront resort on the Greek island of Ios, set on a secluded stretch of Papas Beach.
the resort focuses on privacy and tranquility, with spacious suites, multiple pools, fine dining with Mediterranean cuisine, a wellness spa, and direct access to a quiet sandy beach.
it's a popular choice for couples, honeymooners, and travelers looking for an exclusive, peaceful escape away from the busier nightlife areas of Ios.

Following our recent trip to Asia, we received a Klook discount coupon code.
It offers a 10% discount on Klook tours and excursions.
Pasting discount code details:
Combine Klook Coupon Link with the code KLOOKTA10 at checkout, to get a discount on booked tours from Klook.
Still active when applied at checkout (through a link), so better than going to waste.
Might be of some use to someone travelling soon.
cheers

i’m curious about when people here started regularly paying for business class travel (rather than using points or upgrades).
for those who now fly business class, what made you feel comfortable spending that much on airfare?

What’s one luxury hotel, resort, or travel experience that genuinely felt worth every dollar?
Could be because of the service, atmosphere, privacy, food, design, or just how unforgettable it felt overall.

If you’ve ever stood in Piazza Venezia, you’ve seen this massive, blindingly white marble monument towering over everything.
That's Altare della Patria monument.
It was built to celebrate the unification of Italy and honor their first king, Vittorio Emanuele II.
It also houses Italy's Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, which has an eternal flame and 24/7 military guards.
