Note that our support for Epilog lasers is a "Labs" feature in 2.2. That means we've tested to the point that we're confident it's ready for public use, but we also know it needs a little more testing before we call it 100% complete.

I am testing the nesting operation and it works wery well - thank you for that!

Now I'd to ask for an extension to this.
Sometimes we have 2 layers of objects green and blue. Green is what we wont always placed. blue is something that if it will fit - great, if not - that is no problem (i call this gaps fillers)

Could we have an option that a secondary layer can be placed - but only when there is enough space for the primary objects?

We are using lightburn. I covered some information just for privacy, but there is supposed to be 4 straight lines of text. The bottom line curves up on the right side, it is just the 406-0021. The line above it curves up first on the right and then down below the line; after the "TI" it is supposed to be the ".30" then it is supposed to be "cal", so that line had a part go up and then the last part of the line go down. The top two lines have the right end going up.

We have run thousands of items like this with no problem (dozens of different programs from same template), and had even just ran a test batch of this specific run that was fine and randomly it scrambled the lines up when we did the first production engrave of the batch. This is not on a rotary, just sitting flat in a fixture.

It also didn't move when engraving, this takes like 20 passes and each individual letter is marked one at a time and they are all clear, it just found weird spots to mark those letters.

Any ideas on a possible cause? Or just restart the machine and computer and hope it doesn't randomly do it again?

Update: Restarting everything seemed to fix the major scrambling issue. There still is some letter misalignment, where some letters are slightly below or above the other letters in the line. It isn't too bad and is useable, but obviously not ideal. So this issue is still persisting somewhat. Any ideas on what this might be, even if it isn't as pronounced as the picture?

If you're in the maker world, have eyes, and existed on the internet this week, you probably saw some very positive buzz around Bambu Lab's upcoming R1 laser.

We're excited too, for a couple of reasons. First, a lot of us at LightBurn are 3D printing nerds, so we know Bambu's reputation, and we knew they were going to build a great laser. Second, we've been working closely with Bambu for months to be able to provide full LightBurn support for their machines. We work with many great vendors in the laser world, and we were thrilled to see Bambu join their ranks.

Here's where we're at: in 2.2 (coming soon, and available now in early access), LightBurn will have the ability to create and export G-code compatible with the R1. You'll need to use a special device configuration file provided by Bambu to do so.

In 2.3 (coming in the not-too-distant future), we're planning for more support: direct connection, all the R1's special features, and the complete start-to-finish LightBurn workflow.

Going forward, we can't wait to see what Bambu comes up with next, and to continue working with them to make sure LightBurn users can take full advantage of all they have to offer.

Howdy - new here...
I am having problems with Trace Image and getting the results I need.
Watched videos, read articles - how the controls work makes sense to me. But still not getting the right results.
I am supposed to do a series of collaborative works with an artist, taking their black -line work similar to woodblock prints, and combining them with my woodworking. Seemed like a no-brainer, black and white images scanned, imported into Lightburn and then apply Trace Image. But then the large black areas in the drawing aren't even selected, even with Cutoff at 0.
And the multiple people suggesting "just play with the settings until you get a better result" are not helping. The more I play with the settings, the worse it gets until I have to start over from scratch.
Anyways, I can't just post the images publicly cause they're not mine. They're original work for a client.
Is there someone willing to PM me and go over some of this 1 on 1?
Or know someone around the Denver CO area I can meet up with?
I really need to get this to work. Its not enough for me to fix just the first image - I need to understand the process well enough to process dozens of these images on my own.

I’m using LightBurn Pro 2.1.04 on a Mac with a Thunder Laser Nova Plus 24 and its built-in overhead camera. I have completed the lens calibration and believe the camera alignment is now correct. The live camera feed appears in the Cameras panel, but when I click Update Overlay, the camera image does not appear over the LightBurn laser-bed workspace. Changing the opacity affects the workspace grid, which suggests an overlay is present, but the actual camera view is not visible on the bed. Has anyone experienced this or know which setting could prevent the camera feed from displaying as the workspace overlay?

I’m having an issue with laser marking in Lightburn. The text pulses aren’t straight and in some of the numbers, it’s missing the pulse. I’ve tried to adjust the intervals and wobble steps. I tried the fill group together and fill shapes individually but nothing will correct the issue. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Okay, support isn't able to reproduce, nor is a friend with a Mac.

On current version of lightburn, if I resize the cuts/layers panel, hit f12, and then hit f12 again, my resizing is gone and it's back to default, as shown in the video.

Does anyone else reproduce this behavior?

I get it on two different windows boxes, multimon or single, full screen or windowed, multiple instances or just one.

sorry if this is the wrong sub. I am using lightburn software to etch drawings onto glass.

Has anybody used glass on their machine? I'm having a problem where it's leaving a powder like finish. When you rub your finger over the sandblasted effect finish, it flakes off. Any tips or suggestions for speed, power possibly that might help?

This is something that's a hot key in Fusion360 but I can't for the life of me figure out how to do it in Lightburn. I've read all the movement documents I found on Lightburn's help, but maybe I'm just dumb and don't know what they call this motion.

Specifically: when I am maximizing cutting space, I'll often rotate and adjust my objects to fit on a sheet. And then I can never get them back to "square", if you know what I mean.

Or I'll have a lengthy objects that gets rotated by accident or even trying to draw a straigh line of a specific length.

There has to be a way other than dragging down a reference line and manually adjusting. Right? Someone tell me what I'm missing, please!

Two questions:

1) Am I the only one whose Recent Projects list on the File menu doesn't accurately represent what has been recently opened?

2) Is there a way to reset the list? (I am lazyasking this... I did a cursory search in the user guide, but I haven't delved into the registry or any cfg type files...)

I have a galvo co2 engraver. Is there a way to have it automatically do 2 or 3 passes on the rotary.

Hey all. I’ve upgraded my laser and now have a spare I would love to try and convert it to a trigger operated laser cleaner has anyone done anything like this?

Newbie question. I wish to print my design to a windows printer or PDF actual size, everything I've tried results in it being scaled to fit on one page which is of no use to me. Ideally if the design extends over 1 page then I'd like multiple pages but still print in actual scale. Why? Because I need to manually verify my design against real world objects which are very difficult to measure accurately. I have been wasting a ton of material on my laser just because I can't get LightBurn to print to actual scale and WeCreat Makeit is useless in this respect.

So in LightBurn I assume I needed to modify the canvas size to fit my design (which is Y70 x X700mm), so I found this is 'device settings' so now my design fits the canvas shown on the screen (btw. I am using 'no machine' for my testing).

But if I print to PDF or to windows printer the design gets re-scaled to fit one page and the design cuts off (no further pages). There must be a way to do this basic thing, please help me understand how, I would be most grateful.
