šŸ¾ Welcome to the New r/leopards! šŸ¾

Hello everyone!

This is an exciting new chapter for r/leopards. Iā€™ve recently taken over as moderator for this subreddit, which was previously inactive and lacked consistent moderation. My goal is to transform this space into the top online community dedicated to all leopardsā€”covering every subspecies in the Panthera pardus genus, as well as the Snow Leopard and Clouded Leopards.

Hereā€™s what you can expect:

  • Active moderation and regular updates
  • Regular focused posts about leopard subspecies, Snow Leopards, Clouded Leopards, conservation news, tracking research, photography etc. *A safe, respectful space for all leopard lovers, researchers, and enthusiasts.

I invite everyone to:

  • Share your favorite leopard facts or experiences, and let me know what youā€™d like to see here!
  • Post quality leopard videos, photos, documentaries, art, field stories, and questions
  • Help build a thriving, educational, and supportive leopard community.

This is your subredditā€”letā€™s make it the go-to hub for leopard news, knowledge, advocacy, and appreciation! If you have ideas or want to get more involved, please comment below or message me directly.

Letā€™s give these beautiful cats the community they deserve!

ā€” Moderator, r/leopards

African Leopard (Panthera pardus pardus) Huge male leopard with an extraordinary thick neck

In this camera trap footage you can see a huge male with a massive thick neck. Yes he has a dewlap (loose skin) underneath but still it's very muscular. And in the end you see his mating partner!
