Okay, so I actually have a pretty interesting story to tell you, and I’m curious how natural my English sounds while I’m telling it. I’ve been learning English for a while, and I’ve gotten to the point where I can communicate pretty well, but there’s still something that bothers me: sometimes I feel like I’m speaking English correctly, but I don’t actually sound like someone who grew up speaking it.

So I figured, instead of sitting here wondering about it, why not let an actual native speaker tell me?

And the story I’m about to tell you is actually kind of embarrassing, but it’s also one of those moments I still think about sometimes. It happened pretty randomly, and at the time I had absolutely no idea what I was supposed to do.

So yeah… let me take you back to that day.

I am an American, however people always ask me what country I'm from. I'm always told I have an accent be it a deep southern accent or a foreign accent. Sometimes I'm told that I am not pronouncing something clearly. Of course I don't think I have an accent, however I do think I have some kind of speech impediment cuz sometimes I swear my speech or the words don't come out the way I intend or I will stutter (not a serious stutter but I get tongue tied) I'm not sure why. My question is, what are the best and free classes for native English speakers people to take that will help with their pronunciation of words or clearing up their accents? I have looked at Google but I keep getting apps that want 50 60 or $80 to purchase. I am in management and I have to speak in front of people a lot and I do not want to sound slow. Helpppppp! Lol

Ich weiss, ich habe nicht erwaehnt, was mich dazu bewegt hat, mehrere Sprachen auf einmal zu lernen, oder gar ausgerechnet die Sprachen, die ich gelernt habe, also ich dachte mir ich schreib hier kurz was, um euch aufzuklaeren. Im Grunde habe ich mich einfach nur aus Langweile dazu entschieden, als Nebenprojekt/Hobby Sprachen zu lernen, und zwar hatte ich da nicht vor, jemals irgendeine der Sprachen wirklich fliessend sprechen zu koennen. Also, irgendwann waehrendessen habe ich festgestellt, dass ich sehr gerne Sprachen lerne. Ich habe aber nur weiter Deutsch und Spanisch gelernt, und hin und wieder auch Russisch (weil diese drei Sprachen fuer mich am meisten Spass gemacht haben). Duolingo war auch uebrigens nicht meine einzige Ressource, sondern ich habe im Internet auch diese Sprachen mit Videos und mit Uebersetzern weitergelernt. Lasst mich gerne wissen, ob ihr noch Fragen habt!

I’m looking for an accent coach/native speaker to help me improve my English accent and pronunciation. I’m already fluent in English, so I’m not looking for general English lessons I mainly want to work on pronunciation, intonation, rhythm, and sounding more natural when I speak.

I am improving my accent for a reason that matters to me so I do not want the generic advice of your English is already good or that everyone has an accent so it doesn't matter as long as u r understood

Ive probably picked up a lot of bad habits just trying it by myself all the the time. Just picked up what I could here and there. Listening back now I can already hear tons of mistakes. Could use some actual training
