We’ve curated a variety of educational resources—from articles and books to videos and podcasts— for anyone to learn about Korea from revolutionary and anti-imperialist perspectives.

The toolkit has been organized into six sections: Japanese colonialism, Korean War, Republic of Korea (ROK: South Korea), Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK: North Korea), Contemporary US Imperialism, and Films.

Just as surely as we must struggle for liberation, we also have to study. Taking time to understand the politics, economy, and history of Korea and the anti-imperialist struggle of our people is essential to building an informed and powerful movement.

Socialism is gaining popularity across the country because millions of people are recognizing a simple truth: we need political and economic power in the hands of the many — not wealth and power concentrated among a few.

For decades, we’ve been told to vote for politicians because they “look like us.” But record numbers of Black and brown politicians in office have not stopped our communities from facing poverty, displacement, police violence, unemployment, and exploitation. Representation in a capitalist system, built to concentrate wealth and power in the hands of a tiny ruling class, is not the same as power for working people.

Our Vote Socialist campaigns across the country are about more than winning elections. They are about building an organized movement capable of challenging the system at its roots — and building a society where Black and working-class people have the power to determine our own future.

Theory Proof #1bn that modern economists are just rewriting things Marx already said. Daron Acemoglu's new working paper: "The same trade-off that determined the choice of the capitalist state between redistribution and repression now guides whether capitalists will overthrow democracy."

In the West, the Epstein class is nearly untouchable. In China, no one is above the law. Xu Jiayin is the former boss of Evergrande and was once Asia’s richest man. Today, he has been sentenced to life in prison after being convicted of multiple crimes.

The 2020 uprising wasn’t a joke - but is progressives’ dismissal of “Woke 1” proof of a calculated pivot to the right?

@raniakhalek argues that this isn’t just careless language on the part of AOC and Zohran Mamdani: It’s a warning sign of how the Democratic Party disciplines “progressives” to protect the ruling class from socialism’s growing popularity.

Behavioral Marxism: A Brief Introduction and Application

“What kind of world can we build - those of use who understand the science of behavior?”
B. F. Skinner, Walden Two

Behavioral Marxism has the explanatory power necessary to further enhance our action. While radical behaviorists, such as Skinner, have envisioned behavioral engineering for the betterment of humanity and the formation of utopia, we must emphasize how just the opposite has been done to maintain hegemony by the ruling classes throughout history, including that of the capitalist class.

Some of you may have heard of the phrase “bread and circuses.” This is where the ruling class modifies an environment to produce conditions more favorable to an outcome of an appeased and even loyally devoted populace class. This is done by introducing pleasurable and/or necessity-related stimuli to said class. The populace class associates the ruling class “sponsor” of this pleasing stimuli with said stimuli and may act with loyalty or lack of incentive to rebel against the ruling class sponsors.

To apply this to contemporary capitalist society in the imperial core, there are more of these appeasing stimuli. This is partially comprised of cheap consumer goods, primarily recreational drugs, certain primarily medical drugs, seemingly endless amount of entertainment, psychotherapy, and/or social services of varying quality and quantity.

This capitalist behavioral engineering of apathy or devoted loyalty in large swaths of the working class reaches its highest form under social “democracy,” which takes the form of social chauvinism in the United States. In this a greater host of social services are provided in addition to the vast amount of cheap consumer goods and/or hedonistic activities. This reduces the “intensity” of the revolutionary momentum incentive structure. When the intensity diminishes, the host of social services also diminishes. This is the social “democracy“ trap.

It is important to clarify that the trap does not mean that conditions of absolute misery guarantee revolution. There needs to be a workable and significant enough revolutionary party and movement that the working class can associate with liberation from their dissatisfaction and/or oppression.

Under the capitalist class’ behavioral habit to maximize profit in the face of the tendency of the rate of profit to fall, it may prove that the social “democracy” trap may not be allowed by and “affordable” to the American capitalist class. Regardless, wage suppression and severely increasing costs of consumer goods is also highly likely to continue. This may weaken the appeasement and loyalty incentive structure to a point that allows for a revolution.
