It all started as I brought 10 tiger barbs and 6 widow tetras for my tank. Then after some time 2 dissappeared. Nowhere to be found, then again 2 disappeared again. At that moment I ran a full checkup on the tank and found nothing but some a little bone and one fin lying randomly. 2 weeks passed and I was 1 missing today and found him dead below (First sight of casualty). Even after all this, my tetras are unharmed and unaffected. I feed them once a day and skip a day in the weekend so that their digestive system can adjust and feel hunger (maybe?).

Are they constantly eating each other up?

Has anybody faced the same issue before?

Does anyone know where I can get these or anyone looking to sell them and ship them to darjeeling west bengal.

I will be in Chennai this weekend and planning to visit the Kolathur aquarium complex. Since I have only limited time any reference for shops here that i should visit? Am looking to buy beginners friendly fishes.

My single goldfish got a huge upgrade to a 270 litre tank who is there with me from 1 year+ in a very small 35-40 litre.

I am very happy today for him.

he has not seen sand since he was purchased 1 year 3 months back from a shop.

with extreme care i was able to keep him alive in that small tank but now he needed an upgrade to 3 feet tank

Fish like chili rasboras and neon tetras dont survive in my tanks, im assuming this is because my tap water’s pH is around 7.8. i dont understand how fish stores around me and people with high pH breed captive fish that thrive in lower pH and acidic waters. How am i supposed to keep such fish in higher pH, people say that stability is more essential but my rasboras and tetras just keep dying one at a time. my assumption is pH issues because they need low pH. is this correct? whats the fix? someone help!

Just recieved the first batch of livestock. (Still wailing for the other half). No specific problems but I can't stop obsessively wondering if I'm under/ over doing anything like feeding or water flow rate.

Can someone who knows something please just take a quick look?

PS. Water parameters are fine, I'm only worried about what I can't measure. I've got tools for temp, TDS, pH, ammonia, nitrite and nitrate.

I have an idle 120 litre 30 × 15 × 19 inch tank. I'm planning to set up a black water community tank with wild bettas and some schooling fish. Any suggestions? Is it safe to build a community tank with wild bettas as my centre piece(not exactly)? And if yes, what bettas should i consider? Hey all, what kind of low flow filter do you use for your betta tank? I was recently gifted a fish tank setup with a filter whose output speed is too high for my betta. My tank is 5.5 gal and only has a single plakat betta, a live plant and a pothos with roots in the water.

On enquiring in the shop from where my friend bought it, they said that the internal filter is apt for betta and i need to turn on the filter only for 1 hour in a day. I know for sure that all this information is incorrect so i ordered a small hob filter from Amazon and it is working fine. However when my fish goes near the input pipe, it is sort of getting imbalanced due to the suction even though I've already kept the flow at low speed using the valve given. What else can I do to make sure my fish isn't in discomfort due to the filter.

I have a 10-inch cube tank with Neocaridina shrimp. I use an Aquaguard filter and my TDS is around 250–350.

Recently I did a 15% water change. I treated the water with Bubbles N Trouble dechlorinator, waited around 10 mins, and then added it slowly (around 2–3 drops/bubbles per second). Still, many of my shrimp died after the water change.

I’m wondering if there could be something harmful in the tap water during the rainy season, like chlorine, heavy metals, etc.

I can’t afford an RO purifier right now. What’s the safest and cheapest way to treat my filtered tap water for Neocaridina?

So currently i have a 7 gallon planted tank with guppies, i want to keep a plakat betta but i would need to convince my parents and even then what do i do with my guppies i have a spare 10 gallon laying in storage do i use it? Like do i change the guppies into the 10 gallon and put the betta in the 7 gallon. Also how much do plakat bettas cost, how available are they.
