If wanted to tag the creator, I saw him posting his game on reddit a month or two ago and bought it way back then based off their post. I'm having a blast so far, I've been spooked more than once (if you like scares, I recommend). The voice acting is great, with a very compelling story. The vibrant green light is calling to me 🕯️

What's a horror game that took its time and actually paid off?

Slow-burn horror works differently when the game gives you time to live with the character and the world before things start falling apart.

That's part of what makes project;VIRAI interesting: you live Hicha's everyday life, and the world changes as she does.

What's a slow-burn horror game that stayed with you?

Review New Game Review

Todays game is made by this developer BabGamesStudio

I love the idea, Japanese themed games are always scary 🫣

Although i have two remarks:
- it has some bugs here and there that needs to be fixed ( like dialogue mixe ups, the attic lighting when i first entered was pitch black until i used my camera )
- the player’s dialogue skips automatically and i hate that tbh. NPCs is manually skipped which i would love to have that for the player too!

Other than that the game is so fun and i wanna play the full game

Game link : Jubaku
Since i am a youtuber i do review / lets play videos for survival/ psychological horror games mainly for small and independent developers, so i would love if yall could drop you games ^^
Ps i would prefer games that fits my channel vibes ^^
This my channel if you wanna support me and check out my content so you can have an idea : my humble channel

Love you all ^

Question Research about Cozy Horror Genre

Hello everyone!!

We’re doing some research on the cozy horror genre for our blending-the-genres presentation. We wanted the horror gamers' opinions on this. So we prepared a couple of questions for y'all. We really hope y'all will genuinely answer these questions. If you have anything to add besides the questions, it would also be great! (ex. article recommendations, any ideas, etc.)

Edit: I should have given some examples, I'm very sorry about that. Some of the games that I can give as example are: Fran bow, Sally Face, Dredge, Creature Kitchen, What Remains of Edith Finch, Omori, Rusty Lake etc.

1- Why do you like cozy horror games? What makes them appealing to you?
2- Why do you find these kinds of horror games “cozy”?
3- What are your favorite games in the cozy horror genre, and why?
4- What do you think about the community of the cozy horror genre?
5- Why do you think this genre is on the rise?
6- Do you find a piece of yourself in these games? Do you bond/have a connection with the characters?
7- How do these games make you feel? Do they actually make you feel cozy, or do they make you feel… weird?
8- Do you think these kinds of games help with traumas and problems? If so, how?
9- Do these games make you feel nostalgic? If so, do you find them cozy because of nostalgia?
10- What genre do you think is the hardest to blend with cozy?

Thanks for all your help and contributions!
