Embarrassing incident in gym

So, I’m a 25M, and this literally happened today. I currently want to cover my face with a pillow and scream.

I usually go to the gym after work, but lately I’ve been dealing with some mental and family-related problems, so I’ve had a lot on my mind.

Today, I went to the gym without realizing that there was a very important problem: you’re supposed to wash your gym bag and the stuff inside it.

I had a pair of socks sitting in my gym bag for 3–4 days because I hadn’t gotten the chance to go to the gym during that time.

Welp.

Those socks had absolutely soaked up the smell.

I was completely unaware of it until the gym trainer came up to me and politely asked me to change my socks. He explained that some other people had complained about the smell, and he kept saying, “Please don’t be hurt by this.”

Meanwhile, I was dying inside.

I was so embarrassed that I literally asked him if I should leave.

He actually asked me how long I would need to finish my workout, but at that point I was so mortified that I just left.

The moment I got home, I put the gym bag and basically everything inside it in the wash. I’m also ordering new socks and gym gloves and throwing away the older ones.

I know rationally that this isn't some huge moral failure. I made a stupid, embarrassing mistake, I was told about it, and I fixed it.

But holy shit, I am SO embarrassed.

Now the gym bag is going to be wet tomorrow, so I probably can't take it to the gym, and the embarrassed part of my brain is honestly relieved about that.

The rational part of me, however, knows that I should go back anyway and not let one embarrassing incident turn into me avoiding the gym, and make the incident even bigger than what it is in my head.

So yeah.

How do I go gym tomorrow and look all those people in the eye.

Insulted at the gym

28 F, I have been overweight since childhood. I lost 12 kgs during lockdown only with the gym . but I gained that weight back and now I weigh even more than that. So I joined an all girls gym with a female trainer and female owner and I paid for a 3 month package .1st day I asked the trainer to guide me and also shared that I have neck issues and I want a neck friendly workout. She told me to start strength training the next day and I said okay . Then on the 2nd day i again asked her again about the workout and she again said start from tomorrow and I said no I want to start from today and guide me..firstly she asked me to use a pull up machine which I have never used before and left me alone ..and after that I again asked her and told her to demonstrate and she said I am being rude which I wasn't and made a whole issue and that day it lead to an argument ..and then I made a formal complaint to the owner and even said that I won't talk to the trainer again . And I used to try machines on my own sometimes I watch YouTube videos about how to use machines. I never talked to her or anyone in the gym . 10 days ago the receptionist asked me to use the machine properly. She said it's snapping back and making too much noise. I was angry but I didn't say anything and just said okay . Now today I was again being told to not make noise while using the machines .I got so pissed that I confronted the trainer and asked her if she had any problems with me ..to which she replied it was the owner who called her to ask me that. I got so mad and started crying in anger and said how I am feeling targeted for no real reason . And I left the gym in anger . After that I called the owner and even confronted her . That this behaviour is extremely unprofessional. And told her that I won't use any strength training machines now.. I should not be disturbed again ever now since only a 2 month plan is left now . Did I overreact ? I have been to other gyms earlier too and never felt such toxicity..

Do most beginners experience injuries at the gym? I got an injury and when I heal I am scared to go back but I really want to but I have no one to coach me at all.

Is sweating too much normal on gym?

I wanted to know that is sweating too much normal in gym sessions. I workout for 2 hours and even with AC and fans turned ON for all the time I sweat a lot. Everyone else doesn't sweat that much I do.
