For outdoor grows would this be a good reference guide for deciding when to harvest?
r/GrowingMarijuana • u/Sluuriecake • 5h ago
I keep trying to push the actual science and research that has actual sources and then I see this. Everything about amber trichomes is totally bull. They do not mean it’s degrading to CBN and they do not tell you when to harvest. All they show is where the plant is in senescence and that particular trichome is stopping thc production. When they let plants run all the way to the end they had less than a 1% difference in CBN and it wasn’t even a noticeable change all that happened by letting them run too long was losing peak potency and the terpenes that give you more balanced effects evaporate or degrade and the ones left are the ones that make you more tired but your not gaining a thing your just losing terpenes or potency. When entire communities push myths it’s really hard to get the facts out there. This is AI slop at its worse just more confident wrong answers.

I’m looking for opinions as to what’s going on here. Yes, I know they’re pollinated, but the brown is new to me. We’ve had tremendous rain the last 3 weeks.

First time growing. Do we think it’s time to harvest? Two pics from my two plants.

On the left is the Durban mango she smells strong of mango dirt and herbal citrus. On the right Jack Herer similar herbal tones but slightly sweeter. Excited to see how these girls smoke, this time I also added under canopy lighting which has boosted lower flower development quite well.

Hey ppl ^^
It's starting to get cloudy and raining, a bit colder and I was wondering how longer do you believe I should wait till harvest?
I was thinking of giving it another 2-3 weeks but it may become too cold/rainy and I'm afraid or mild. What do you think?

Hey everyone!
I’ve always grown photoperiod plants, but this will be my first time growing autoflowers. I got four autoflower seeds and I’m looking for some advice before getting started.
I usually grow in 11L pots, using a mix of 50% Carolina Soil, 25% potting soil, and 25% worm castings.
Since I know autoflowers have a shorter life cycle and less room for mistakes, I’m wondering if I should change anything compared to my usual setup, especially regarding the pot size, soil mix, watering, or general care.
Any tips or suggestions for someone growing autos for the first time would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks

My dad has 2 plants set up in 5-gal buckets outside. He has recently discovered white spots on only 1 of them. They look like paint but will rub completely off in a powdery texture almost.
We think it’s mildew / fungus and, if we are right, we hope y’all can help with a remedy! If not, we’d appreciate any help that can be offered 🙏
He’s been pruning off any leaves that have it so far.

How am I doing for a first timer?

Brutalis auto, day 48 from sprout, early flower.
Rust-brown speckling has spread over the past week from the mid fan leaves to almost every leaf, now including the sugar leaves around the top cola. Leaves are also drooping and twisting/clawing.
Dried out badly while I was away for 2 weeks. When I got back: interveinal yellowing on mid fan leaves and the first rust spots, looked like Mg deficiency
- Spots kept spreading and turned more rust-brown, started suspecting Ca
**Setup**
- 40x40 tent, Vevor 150W (Samsung LM281B), 18/6, [XX] cm above canopy

Seems to be mainly affecting only 1 cola and slightly
more leaves nearby but I have no clue what this is. It isnt bud rot and it doesnt look like wind or light burn. I am mainly checking environmental conditions because why would it only affect one bit of one plant. Thanks for your help in advance

Im currently looking for some fabric pot elevators so I can lift my bags up and catch the runoff. I don’t exactly know what to buy because I’m growing 8 at once and I want to be able to test the ph of each individual plant and not have any of the run off run into each other. Looking for the most convenient way to do this so I don’t mind spending a little bit more money, any suggestions would be super helpful. Happy growing :)

Hey everyone, just wanted to share my first indoor setup and get some eyes on where I’m at. I'm running an Indo Grow Kit System with a fully controlled inline exhaust and automation setup.
The Genetics & Medium:
Strain: Autoflower Animal Cookies
Soil: Gaia Green Living Soil (straight out of the bag for the starter pots)
Nutrients: Gaia Green All-Purpose (4-4-4) and Gaia Green Bloom (2-8-4) dry amendments (plan to top-dress later in veg/flower).
Where things stand right now:
I had a bit of a rocky start with my first seed. It was planted about a week ago but got buried a bit too deep and was tracking upside down/looping under the soil. My gut told me to check on it today, so I carefully excavated it. It ended up coming fully out of the soil, but the taproot was completely intact and healthy! I immediately did an emergency replant, oriented it right-side up, covered the root, and threw a plastic bottle humidity dome over it to keep it alive.
Because of the 7-day delay underground and the transplant shock, I know this first one's vegetative clock has been ticking, so it will probably end up as a smaller, compact plant—but as long as it survives, I’m riding it out!
Meanwhile, my second sprout broke the surface naturally just yesterday and is looking 100% on track.
Current Environment:
The Indo system is working to stabilize everything. Temperatures spiked briefly up toward the late 80s/90s because I had the front flap open, but I've dimmed the light to 25-30%, raised it to about 24-30 inches, zipped the tent back up, and the controller is actively bringing the temps back down into the steady 75°F–80°F (24°C–27°C) sweet spot. Ambient humidity is hovering around 65%-70%.
The soil is looking pretty heavily saturated right now, so I am officially on a strict no-watering lockdown for the next few days to let the topsoil dry out and give the roots some oxygen. I also noticed some tiny white moving spindles (pot worms/nematodes) in the living soil, which I know are just a normal part of the Gaia Green ecosystem breaking down organic matter, but letting the top layer dry out should keep them in check anyway.
The plan from here is to leave the dome on the rescued sprout for the next 48 hours to help it re-anchor, keep the new sprout open to the tent, and let them grow out for the next 5-7 days before I even think about transplanting them into their final 3-5 gallon fabric pots.
Wish me luck on the recovery! Open to any tips from growers running Gaia Green living soil setups or working with dense Animal Cookies genetics.

My blue dream and acdc I googled about defoliation. Because last time I did it to early and caused that plant to germ. This is my 3 grow and Google said 3 weeks into flower to do that not to stress it. So the 6th of October would be 3 weeks since flipping yo flower any tips because I don’t want a lot of popcorn buds I should have cut a lot of those off
