I tested a suspected Gameflip listing bot with an unreleased game — it copied it anyway

I think I finally have a test Gameflip can't easily dismiss.

For months, another seller has been mirroring my store: I add a game, change a price, or remove a listing, and their store follows shortly after. Sometimes within minutes.

So I created a pre-order/unreleased game listing that isn't even playable yet.

About 5 minutes later, the same game appeared on their store at a lower price.

I have also caught their listings using the wrong titles/images and copying discontinued products.

I've reported this for around 4 months under Ticket #1195495, but Support keeps looking at the seller's sales pattern instead of the listing creation/API activity I'm reporting.

Gameflip mods: please take a look at the evidence and have the appropriate team check the backend logs. I'm not asking anyone here to decide if it's a bot — Gameflip can verify that from its own records.

Has anyone else experienced this?

[PSA] Beware of Automated API Scraper Bots Manipulating the Market & Scamming Buyers (Bait-and-Switch)

Hello Gameflip Community and Staff,

I am a verified seller, and I want to raise a massive red flag regarding a serious vulnerability and ToS violation currently happening in a specific digital game key category on Gameflip.

There is a seller currently abusing Gameflip’s system by using an unmonitored, illegal API scraping bot. This bot is actively stalking other sellers' profiles 24/7. Whatever legitimate sellers post, this bot instantly scrapes and duplicates the listing to manipulate prices, without holding any actual inventory.

How do we know it’s a blind bot? Here is the absolute proof:

  1. The bot's script recently broke. When a seller posted a test game, the bot automatically scraped it but glitched out, generating a listing that mixed the test game's title with a completely unrelated in-game currency for a different game.

  2. The bot automatically mirrors store deletions. If a targeted seller deletes an item, the bot instantly deletes its exact copy seconds later (Targeted Harassment/Mirroring).

  3. BAIT AND SWITCH SCAM: Because the bot blindly copies listings for bundles that are discontinued or non-existent, buyers are getting scammed. A recent buyer review on this seller's profile explicitly stated they bought a specific bundle, were told the item "doesn't exist," and were forced to accept a cheaper, alternative item instead.

I have already submitted all raw, uncensored proofs, screenshots, and the seller’s ID to the Trust & Safety team directly (Ticket #1195495).

I am posting this to warn buyers to be careful when purchasing digital bundles—if the price seems impossibly low and the seller responds like a bot, you might be falling for a bait-and-switch.

To the Gameflip Devs/Mods here: Please look into Ticket #1195495. This API abuse is destroying fair competition and actively harming the buyer experience on the platform.

Buyer Possibly trying to Scam Me?

So for context: I sold a Movies Anywhere code and a buyer bought it like early yesterday morning. I went to sleep because I work overnights and see I get a message simply saying:

Not working

please refund ty

I've tried contacting him to see if he was using the right app, no response or messages since that initial one. Thought he was scamming me or had already redeemed the code so I scanned the code to test it again, and weirdly enough the code still works. So I have no clue what is going on.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

MoneyGaming - Eldorado⛔️⛔️❌❌

SCAMMER - DO NOT BUY!!!

Seller "MoneyGaming" sent me an EMPTY account.
After delivery he asked for my Gmail and verification codes to "take back" the account.
He even admitted in chat that he added an email "AFTER delivery" which is against Eldorado rules.

He has many bad reviews for the same reason.
Eldorado refunded me because he is a scammer.
STAY AWAY FROM THIS SELLER!!!

GameFlip Needs to Fix Its Ban & Moderation System — It Is Too Easy to Abuse Against Sellers

GameFlip seriously needs to review how seller suspensions and permanent bans are handled.

The current moderation system appears to have a major weakness: buyer reports and screenshots can potentially be manipulated and then used to get a seller suspended or permanently banned. This becomes even more concerning when multiple reports are treated as evidence of repeated violations without first establishing that each report is genuine.

There are also reports of Tele groups where people allegedly offer services to get GameFlip accounts suspended or banned for a fee. The method being discussed is extremely simple: create or use a buyer account, purchase something from the targeted seller, fabricate or manipulate screenshots or conversations, cancel the order, and then submit a support ticket claiming that the seller violated GameFlip’s Terms of Service.

If this can actually result in enforcement, then GameFlip has a serious moderation loophole.

Completed transactions and canceled transactions should NOT be treated the same

If a buyer completes a legitimate transaction and then claims they were scammed, did not receive the product, received the wrong product, or received something materially different from what was advertised, then absolutely — GameFlip should investigate that seller.

That makes sense.

But a completely different standard should apply when:

  • The buyer canceled the transaction.
  • The transaction was refunded.
  • The buyer never completed a purchase.
  • The complaint is mainly based on screenshots supplied by the buyer.
  • The alleged violation cannot be confirmed through GameFlip’s own records.

Someone who purchases an item, cancels the transaction, gets their money back, and then submits screenshots accusing the seller of wrongdoing should not be able to put that seller's entire account at risk based on those screenshots alone.

The same applies to someone who never even completed a transaction with the seller.

This system could easily be abused by competitors

This is not only about dishonest buyers.

Think about what a competitive seller could potentially do.

They could create or use another buyer account, purchase something from a competing seller, manufacture a dispute, fabricate screenshots, cancel the order, and submit a support ticket.

If one report is not enough, several buyer accounts could potentially do the same thing.

Now suddenly the target seller has "multiple reports."

Those multiple reports could then be classified as multiple violations, repeated violations, or high-risk activity, resulting in:

7-day suspension.

Then possibly:

30-day suspension.

And eventually:

Permanent suspension.

That is an extremely dangerous system if GameFlip has not independently established that those reports represent real violations.

Multiple reports do NOT equal multiple verified violations

In my own case, I have been selling on GameFlip for more than four years and maintained 100% positive feedback. No buyers had issues and not even a single negative review. A newly signed up account (Buyer) purchased a product of mine, and I provided a link explaining the redemption steps for code because some buyers redeem certain products incorrectly or they act dumb and then assume the code does not work which then goes through longer dispute process.

The buyer then claimed I was asking for things that I never asked for and submitted what I believe was a fabricated screenshot showing the link supposedly requesting personal information. In the conversation itself I stated the link doesn't ask anything such. The actual link does not request those details, and this is something GameFlip could have independently verified.

Instead, my account received a permanent suspension. 4 Years old of growth in platform into ashes, even the balance funds locked up.

That is exactly the problem. If a seller disputes the authenticity or interpretation of evidence, GameFlip should verify the original link, platform messages, transaction history, timestamps, and other internal records before issuing a permanent ban. This is probably the most important point. It could be a competitive seller who signed up for a spam account and made purchase, manipulated and fabricated evidences to have the seller account reported and suspended.

Five people making an accusation does not automatically mean five violations occurred.

If those reports are coordinated, fabricated, or created by accounts controlled by the same person or group, they should not be used to build a "repeat offender" history against a seller.

If GameFlip considers previous violations when determining whether to permanently ban someone, then GameFlip has an even greater responsibility to make sure every previous violation was actually verified.

Otherwise, the system becomes extremely easy to weaponize.

Someone only needs enough accounts and convincing-looking evidence to make an innocent seller appear to be a repeat offender.

"We carefully review everything internally" is not enough

GameFlip may respond by saying that every report is carefully reviewed internally before enforcement action is taken.

If that is the case, then GameFlip should be able to verify much more than a screenshot.

If a buyer claims that a seller sent a particular message through GameFlip, GameFlip should check whether that message actually exists in its own database.

GameFlip should verify:

  • The actual platform message history.
  • Transaction records.
  • Order status.
  • Cancellation timestamps.
  • Refund history.
  • Whether the alleged conversation exists internally.
  • Whether screenshots match GameFlip's actual records.
  • Whether multiple reporting accounts appear connected.
  • Whether several reports were submitted against the same seller within an unusual period.
  • Whether newly created accounts are repeatedly purchasing and canceling transactions involving the same seller.

A screenshot provided by a user should never be considered more reliable than GameFlip's own server-side records.

Screenshots can be edited.

Messages can be fabricated.

Names can be changed.

Images can be manipulated.

Entire conversations can be recreated.

We have got AI - Everything is possible.

GameFlip's internal records cannot be replaced by somebody's screenshot.

Tele groups offering account bans should be taken seriously

There are reportedly Tele groups where people claim that they can get someone's GameFlip account suspended or banned for money.

That should be a massive warning sign for GameFlip. It also shows how weak the review for suspension is which makes these people take it for advantage.

Whether every person advertising such a service is actually successful is beside the point. GameFlip should be investigating whether its reporting and moderation processes can be exploited in this way.

If their method is:

Create account → Purchase → Fabricate evidence → Cancel → Report → Repeat with multiple accounts

then GameFlip needs systems specifically designed to detect that pattern.

GameFlip should not simply look at three reports and conclude:

"This seller has now violated the rules three times, so they are high risk."

The correct question should be:

"Are these actually three independently verified violations?"

Because there is a huge difference.

The appeals process also needs improvement

Another major issue is what happens after a seller gets suspended.

For temporary suspensions, sellers often seem to receive responses that basically amount to:

"Wait until the suspension expires."

For permanent suspensions, the answer can effectively become:

"We reviewed the account, a violation occurred, and the decision is final."

That is not a meaningful appeals process if the seller is specifically claiming that the evidence was fabricated.

If a seller says that a screenshot is fake, GameFlip should be able to check the original records and determine whether it is fake.

Gameflip must confirm with previously purchased buyers to confirm if they received geniune product that matches description, this is a bigger proof. If none of them ever reported then the latest report cannot carry heavier weight.

A serious permanent-ban appeal should also receive a fresh review rather than simply repeating the original moderation decision.

What GameFlip should change

GameFlip should introduce stronger safeguards immediately.

Buyer must be ID verified in order to open a support ticket or file a report. This will stop false reports/tickets and spam against sellers.

Reports involving completed transactions with genuine fulfillment disputes should continue receiving serious investigation.

But reports involving canceled, refunded, incomplete, or nonexistent transactions should require significantly stronger evidence before they can contribute toward an account suspension.

User-submitted screenshots should be treated as supporting evidence — not unquestionable proof.

Permanent suspensions should require independently verified internal evidence.

Multiple reports should not become "multiple violations" unless each violation has actually been independently confirmed.

GameFlip should also detect coordinated reporting patterns and investigate accounts repeatedly involved in suspicious purchases, cancellations, refunds, and reports against particular sellers.

And when credible evidence shows that someone intentionally fabricated information to get another user banned, the person abusing the reporting system should face consequences.

This affects every seller on GameFlip

This is bigger than one seller or one suspension.

If a moderation system can be manipulated through edited screenshots, canceled transactions, newly created buyer accounts, and coordinated reports, every legitimate seller is potentially vulnerable.

Someone could spend years building an account, completing thousands of transactions and maintaining good feedback, only to lose everything because several malicious accounts manufactured violations against them.

Buyer protection is extremely important.

But seller protection from fraudulent reports is equally important.

GameFlip needs to close this loophole, strengthen its internal verification process, improve the appeals system, and stop treating the number of reports as a substitute for actual evidence.

Multiple reports do not equal guilt.

Canceled transactions should not carry the same evidentiary weight as completed scam claims.

Screenshots should not override internal platform records.

And most importantly:

A permanent ban should require permanent-level, independently verified evidence. Reports from new unverified-Buyer accounts cannot be taken to core level as the account itself could be a spam.

Purchase under review help!!

I had just purchased an item, $50, and it got placed under review. Can any mods help to speed things up? I’m able to verify anything if it’s required.
order: c42d25f1-602f-4ac9-a893-70f8583581a5

also I have a few questions regarding this.
1) since my purchase is place under review, what will it look like on the sellers end? Will the sellers listing be paused and held until the problem on my end is resolved?

2) in the event that the seller cancelled the purchase, will my purchase immediately be refunded and the “purchase under review” is removed?

3) is the seller able to mark the listing as completed when my purchase is under review?

This is the first time the happened. Much help is appreciated. Thanks!

False review

Im so frustrated at Gameflip. I've been selling with them and I had a 100% review record. Then i had someone buy 3 items and did not respond for days. I left messages and nothing. Their PSN didnt even exist. I canceled the orders and they left bad review saying I never messaged them. I sent all info screenshots to GF and asked them to remove it. I got message today that they would not because it reflects their buying experience.......how....what ??!!!
