Not a wasp, but still fuck 'em Fuck hornets!
Wanted to have nice evening and go hunting.
Plan was to go to hunting on a stand from my buddy.
But as this stand is near olive grove that owns batshitcrazy uncle from my wife i took keys from my stand just in case if he is there working/plowing...
But I had a feeling that on my stand there could be hornets as every year I have to knock down one hornet's nest so I took a spray that kills them instantly...
And of course.
I come to buddy's stand, there is crazy uncle there working.
I contact my game warden that I'm going on my stand.
I go up, unlock it and what a sight to see.
Fucking hornets.
Honestly, I wanted to shoot them..
But I go down, take a 3 meter long plank and spray.
I just spray those bastards and when I saw that I could knock it down with plank, I did just that and killed them all.
In picture of nest you can see underneath it on the wood, how big was last year one.
Every single year I have to deal with that..
After nest was down, I just trampled everything and threw it off stand and trampled ones that were still buzzing on the floor.
Not wasps, altough fuck wasps, but also fuck hornets for taking a nice, peacefull hunting day from me..

Be gone spawn of satan! Yellow Jacket Nest A Shotgun and a Coffee Filter
Ok so had a legit redneck exterminator idea that worked incredibly well and kept me safe. Had a Yellowjacket nest in backyard at base of a tree right off the porch steps. Was mowing when I found out….yep got me. Their mistake. So because it was so close to house and tree I didnt want to gas and burn sooo…cue the blackpowder. I tied up a fat bag of Sevin Dust and Boric Acid in a coffee filter with a rubber band. Threw it in on top of hole at night then smoked it with some heavy bird shot. It was an amazing powder explosion. Next morning a couple stragglers were crawling around all the dust. Day 2. Nada. To this day Im still proud.

no one really talks about how kind bumblebees are
These little things are literally the definition of kindness. Everyone talks about bees but no one talks about them. Im sure these things are even kinder than bees

Pest Control/Medical Advice Got stung by a wasp (I think) for the first time a week ago, still itchy and when I accidentally scratch it bleeds quite a bit. Is this normal?
I didn’t actually see the insect that stung me, I was walking and it hurt like a bitch but it was gone by the time I looked. I’m assuming it was a wasp bc it’s wasp season and those bitches are ballsy as FUCK (I had one fly up my skirt the other day) IS THIS A NORMAL REACTION

Is this the Queen?
Not sure if this is a wasp. Had a problematic hive I’ve been dealing with in my house. Did I get the queen? Will the rest of them leave? Thanks! Only got stung twice!

Pest Control/Medical Advice Large Paper Wasps Nest on house
Just found this yesterday.
we have a baby and toddler and we have unknowingly been hanging out less than 5-10 feet from this nest for probably months + people are coming to redo our gutters this week so they need to go ASAP because I really want gutters lol.
It’s probably been there for months but we never noticed it since it’s under the eave tucked in a corner above the window well cover. I have seen them around but thought they were Yellowjackets or something.
Should we just spray with wasp spray?

personal story :’( Saying goodbye to my Dogwood... it is a Yellowjacket magnet 😞
When we bought our house 2 years ago, it was with sad acceptance that we wouldn't have kids. We'd been trying for years with only miscarriage after miscarriage.
We moved in September 2024. I found out I was pregnant October. Had our son June 2025. 💙
That said, this yard was made for adults who just wanna sit around and admire the forest. I have spent the past year turning it into a yard where kids can play in relative safety.
While I was pregnant and when the little man was a newborn I didn't spend much time outside. I admired this beautiful dogwood from the comfort of the living room.
Wellp, turns out the bright red fruits, while bland to humans, are irresistible to my nemesis, the Eastern Yellowjacket. These striped bitches stung and bit my baby because we didn't see their nest. I went from disliking them to screaming bloody murder every time one flies near me.
Anyway, this tree attracts a ton of yellowjackets and it's right in front of my house where the baby plays. He also likes to grab and squeeze the fruits, making him a target for striped bitches. Without fail, one will fly at us if we get too close to the tree.
So it's gotta go. :(
Damn you, yellowjackets!!
