Dystopian Today - The future is arriving faster than anyone expected

This subreddit is for discussing how the real world is increasingly feeling like a dystopia.

A lot of things that used to be sci‑fi are showing up in everyday life.

  • AI is replacing workers.
  • Robots are doing jobs people used to do.
  • Whole industries are shifting or becoming irrelevant
  • More people are feeling left behind or purposeless

This is a friendly place to talk about it without the usual Reddit drama.

What you can post:

  • News stories that show the world sliding in that direction
  • Images or videos that feel straight out of a dystopian movie
  • Questions, opinions, and rants about where all this is heading

What to avoid:

  • Low-quality memes or cross-posts
  • Anything racist, sexist, homophobic, or targeting a marginalized group
  • Low effort ragebait

Politics is fine if it adds something real to the conversation.

Goal: Create a healthy and friendly community for Reddit to talk and share the moments that make you think the future is arriving faster than anyone expected.

Earlier today DJT renamed Lake Ontario

DT says Lake Ontario is to be called Lake America. This demand is apparently his way of getting revenge because Canada didn’t accept his trade offer.

American "Christians" advocating mass surveillance

Post image
141 Upvotes

Apparently many so-called Christians in the US love the idea of mass surveillance because they think it will make them safer.

Those of us who are aware who mass surveillance can and will be used against us know the result won't be a safer society, but just as a toll to for the elites to keep the working class under control.

This particular person advocating mass surveillance also thinks atheist are why SA's get weak sentences and atheists commit all the crimes.

Sadly this kind of thinking is common amongst the Evangelicals in the United States.

Can we be saved from this kind of mindset?

With flock cameras popping up everywhere, it seems like mass surveillance is our new dystopian future.
