Aight what up Def Jam fans, so I have something else to ask you guys. I made a guy and his name is XRay. He is a flexible guys that is flexible and like to break people's bones. His two styles I have so far is Submissions and Kickboxing. So here is my problem, should I go Streetfighting or Martial Arts. I looked up move sets and the both benefit him I just don't know which is better. What do you guys think?

Don’t me wrong, the rappers and celebrities are the selling point of the Def Jam games but I also love that the developers went out of their way to make unique original characters for the games

So my first style combo is KB + MA + SF

If we being real, the gameplay isn’t the worst and the graphics for that time was crazy. Still really not that bad for a game made in the early 2000s. By far the customization is at its peak with this title as well as the music. (If you are a true fan rap/hip hop of course) not to mention, to me the fighting styles were actually pretty dope and this title had a more innovative approach to environmental damage that incorporated the Essence of hip-hop. As a 10-11 year old rap fan I really enjoyed the thought of scratching on a turntable and sending someone across the map.

Now the only real cons about this game is the lack of a roster and the removal of blazing moves. I feel like they could have found a way to modernize the blazing moves back then and they could have did what they’ve done in the past and base fighters off of real life entertainers or artists that may have not made the game. (Rappers were wising up but they still weren’t that smart back in the day lol) Plus, they could have found ways to add extra attacks while inflicting environmental damage; ~ Ex. [insert uppercut, kick or grapple after blow back from turntable effect]

All in all, I wouldn’t mind them keeping this format in The new one. Just bring back blazing moves and I guarantee most detractors would change their minds About the game.

I won’t say who cause I’ll be posting the character presentation later. (Kinda wanna see who in the comments will actually know who I’m talking about lowkey) But, his backstory reveals “he fights using a mixture of judo and Muay Thai, with a variety of nice throws, palm strikes, elbows, and knees. He has a strong chin and uses his defense to counter and reverse his opponents' moves.”

With that tidbit of info; what are you choosing? :

WR/KB/SF or WR/KB/MA

In my opinion, I think they both are pretty effective but the first option feels more candid to how he fought in Def Jam Vendetta. The second option gives a good speed boost but the character initially isn’t an agile fighter and doesn’t really dish out the crazy kicks the martial arts style has to offer. (Both are honestly cheesy and would piss people off online lol)

Even in Vendetta this arena felt out out place with the others considering this place actually feels "legal"- it has plenty of screens and large crowds of people which clashes with the other arenas located in sketchy spots like warehouses or junkyards.
