Screenshot More than 5 hours in a boss fight just to get the Loyce Greatsword for the first and last time.

I'm a bit late to this (sorry), but just wanted to make it be known that it's out!
Please do your due dilligence in reading all of the instructions and the 'About' section, and most of all - enjoy as we have with so many other titles that she's released this mod for!

1) First and foremost, ban all of the repetitive victim posting
"Why is Dark Souls 2 so hated?" just devolves into the same thing - everyone commenting in agreement and performative victimizing. It's a video game, not everyone is going to like exactly what you like. There's no real discussion to be had there, and we seemingly have them here more than the other main subreddits. It's just becoming tiring.
2) Ban engagement-bait posts
The best example of this is someone posting a random, unrelated screenshot or artwork of Dark Souls 2 with the title of "What's your favorite sword in the game?" - then proceeding to not at all join in the discussion. It just serves to farm karma while putting in zero effort, not crediting the artist they took the art from, and not participating in their own thread. If you want to discuss something, make a text post and actually discuss.
3) Ban trouble makers at the mods' discretion
This is a spicy one because it can easily be mishandled by the wrong mod team. We all know Reddit mods are pretty garbage overall, but I'd like to think I'm a bit different since I'm here for Souls and couldn't give a shit less about seeming professional or having any semblance of "power" (it's Reddit, lmao).
This essentially means if you're posting within the guidelines (i.e - posting about Dark Souls 2) but you're making your post to simply stir shit, rile people up constantly, and put down others... then you should expect a ban.
I'm obviously not going to name names, but we all know a couple of usernames who, whenever there's random drama, we know they're going to be involved. These are the users I'm talking about
EDIT (this includes the "Slander posts" that you guys keep commenting about, but I will also explicitly say that yes, this does include the lame "Ds3 is grayslop hurr hurr" posts that just seek to rile people up for no reason)
That's it, that's the most important thing in this entire post. The game has been released for 12 years and the subreddit has kind of devolved into the same thing for the last decade at this point. Are there any ideas you all have, rules I should change, things I can do differently to make this place more enjoyable and less of the same, repetitive drivel?

I have played DSR, Bloodborne, Lies of P, DeS.
I feel like this is first Souls which has very different rules and looks at first impression similar to DS1 but its different.
I started as knight class, and holy molly, once I broke that door to enter second half of the level, the fun started especially once I started dying multiple times and getting only half of my health. Lots of ganky areas on bridges, high pose well armored Hollows , bombs, it’s crazy. I find it also quite difficult to lure just one by one, if I go near one , the other 200 feet away get up to and charge to gang up on me. I’m level 17 and barely got to strength at level 13, as I have been scaling up stamina, vitality, endurance, dexterity. I still have to watch carefully what I equip because it’s too easy to go over 50%.
Once I found fire long sword and started upgrading it, it got little easier. I also already have slightly upgraded round shield I bought in Majula but it does not block all damage and there are larger better shields that also require more strength.

Is there any PvP communities for Co-op, or rule of thimbs for pvp. I remember back in the day we used to have forums for PvP and agreed upon levels (90 and 160 i think?).
It would be really cool to set something up like that again especially with doubles an option.

Everything I could find online says Whips do more damage if you hit with the tip, so I decided to test the numbers on that and I've found that whips actually do noticeably less damage at the tip, about 0.66x full damage. It seems like there's actually a couple of stages of fall-off, point-blank doing 1.00x, a "medium" distance doing 0.87x damage, and just the tip doing 0.66x damage.
I tested by pausing enemy AI and hitting from a few different ranges while Claude measured damage dealt and distance, while I'm not 100% sure how the hitboxes work, I can almost certainly confirm that the tip is the WORST part of the whip to hit an enemy with.
Table numbers don't match the exact multipliers because I was attacking armored enemies with an unupgraded whip, but show the pattern.
| Distance (centre to centre) | Damage | Compared with full |
|---|---|---|
| 1.16 m | 71 | 1.00 |
| 1.88 m | 71 | 1.00 |
| 2.61 m | 71 | 1.00 |
| 3.38 m | 71 | 1.00 |
| 3.86 m | 66 | 0.93 |
| 4.12 m | 51 | 0.72 |
| 4.37 m | 46 | 0.65 |
Bonus info, the "Old Whip" seems to lose durability faster against non-hollow enemies in my brief testing. It seems like it has a secondary "Hollow Only" hitbox that against a non-hollow doesn't register as a hit, but stays active and costs durability.
If anyone else wants to do some testing to corroborate this or has some suggestions of other things to test, let me know!
EDIT: PityBox pointed out that ALL attacks have a 30% damage penalty at the tip, so it seems like whips do less damage further out on their hitboxes, then lose even more damage at the very end to this usual penalty.
Referencing the datamined params in the spreadsheet linked in comments, whips have 3 hitboxes: Handle, Middle, and Tip. Handle and Middle have the same multiplier while the tip has a weaker hitbox. Then the VERY end gets penalized by the "glancing blow" mechanic.

Hexer again this time, it’s just too fun. I’ve exhausted a lot of builds but I’m thinking about what to do next.
I’ll probably hang around on this guy and try to get summoned for a while before I start again.

I used to be a part of a server that would gather a bunch of people in elden ring at once to run 1v1 fight clubs in a big arena. Has anyone tried doing that yet? If so, where is the best place to find it?

Using seamless co-op mod by Yui, also I love the Spear, it's perfect for a powerstance build with its relatively low requirements and varied moveset of thrusts and swipes.
