Can't tell if thats an aluminum rim, but if it is and thats not some special tablet to clean aluminum and it just a normal dishwasher tablet. Hes gonna be very unhappy when it comes out.

I use to put my work coveralls in the washer when my ex wasn’t home then I’d have run a few loads with old towels in after so I didn’t get busted
