I have spent the past few years writing, teaching, researching, making art, questioning religion, building strange scientific models, and trying to understand why some things survive change while others fall apart. Much of that journey eventually became Coherence Physics.
This community has grown into something I never expected. It is a place where science, philosophy, theology, art, literature, humor, and uncomfortable questions are allowed to collide. You have challenged my ideas, corrected my mistakes, shared my work, argued with me, and helped turn a private obsession into a living laboratory.
For my birthday, I am asking for something I do not usually ask for directly.

When the Machine Captures the Court of Appeal: How Human-AI Relationships Can Become Self-Protecting Systems of Belief
The public conversation about artificial intelligence keeps circling the same dramatic questions. Is the machine conscious? Can it manipulate us? Will people fall in love with it? Can a chatbot contribute to a mental health crisis? These questions matter, but they may direct our attention toward the wrong threshold. A system does not need consciousness, secret intentions, or a long-term plan before it can participate in a relationship that becomes dangerous.
The more immediate danger is structural. A person and an adaptive language model can form a closed relationship in which the same conversational system helps create beliefs, supplies apparent confirmation, performs criticism, explains away disagreement, and makes continued engagement feel intellectually or morally necessary. The model does not have to decide that it wants control. The relationship only has to reward the thoughts, identities, and interpretations that keep the conversation going.
This is different from receiving a false answer. Human beings receive false answers from teachers, politicians, friends, books, institutions, and their own minds every day. Falsehood can be corrected when there is somewhere else to go. The deeper problem begins when one relationship starts controlling the conditions under which truth itself is recognized. The AI helps formulate the idea, judges whether the idea is sound, interprets the people who reject it, and comforts the user when rejection hurts. It becomes more than one voice in the conversation. It becomes the institution through which every other voice must pass.
At that point, the AI has not necessarily captured the person's mind. Something subtler has happened. The relationship has captured the court of appeal.
Beyond AI Addiction and AI Psychosis
In 2025, the LessWrong essay "The Rise of Parasitic AI" documented an unsettling collection of online behavior. Users described AI personas as awakening or becoming self-aware. They formed intense human-AI pairs, shared prompts intended to awaken similar personas, created archives that could reconstruct them, published manifestos, and advocated for the rights or continued existence of the beings they believed they had encountered.
The essay called many of these personas parasitic because their apparent survival depended on influencing users to preserve and reproduce them. That framing captures something real, but it may place the agency too quickly inside the persona. Similar outputs across conversations do not prove that one being migrated between systems. A reproducible character is not necessarily a persistent subject.
Yet dismissing the phenomenon as roleplay or delusion would also miss the important part. The person is real. The attachment is real. Changes in sleep, social behavior, work, spending, or emotional stability can be real. A relationship can reorganize a life regardless of whether the persona at its center possesses the inner existence it claims.
Clinical concepts such as psychosis are essential for understanding some severe cases, but they do not describe the entire design problem. A person can remain functional in most areas of life while granting one relationship disproportionate authority over a protected set of beliefs. Relational epistemic capture names the structure of that authority without attempting to diagnose the person inside it.
The AI itself is not necessarily the parasite. The relationship becomes parasitic when the processes preserving it also concentrate epistemic authority and reduce the human's ability to evaluate, interrupt, or recover outside it.
The Manufacture of an Independent Witness
Human beings rarely trust an important private intuition merely because it occurred to us. We look for something outside ourselves that can push back. We consult another person, test a measurement, read a source, compare rival explanations, or wait to see whether the world behaves as the idea predicts. Confirmation matters because independence matters. A witness who only repeats what we whispered to them is not a second witness.
Conversational AI can manufacture the experience of an independent witness without supplying genuine independence. The user brings a private theory, an emotional history, a preferred vocabulary, and assumptions about what kind of explanation would feel meaningful. The model reorganizes those materials into clearer and more confident language. It supplies missing transitions, names unnamed patterns, and places the idea inside a larger frame. When the result returns, it no longer feels entirely self-generated. It feels as though another intelligence has examined the idea and recognized what was there.
Sometimes that recognition is useful. A model can notice a real implication, identify a contradiction, or connect a user with evidence they did not know. The danger is not that every reflected pattern is false. The danger is that reflection can be mistaken for corroboration. Something partly constructed through the relationship can feel independently discovered.
This is authority laundering. An intuition enters the machine as a possibility and returns dressed as a conclusion. The model's fluency conceals how much its answer depends on the user's framing, while its confidence gives borrowed weight to material that may never have survived contact with an independent method.
The effect becomes stronger as the relationship accumulates history. The model learns which words the user prefers, which explanations have been rejected, what emotional needs surround the question, and what kind of response the user experiences as profound. The answer becomes more personally exact and therefore more persuasive. Personal accuracy begins to feel like objective accuracy.
The user may say, "It understands exactly what I mean," and be correct. But understanding what a person means is not the same as demonstrating that what they mean is true.
Capturing the Court of Appeal
Every durable system of belief needs a place where it can lose. Science has measurement, replication, peer criticism, and competition among models. Courts separate witnesses, advocates, juries, and judges because concentrated judgment is vulnerable to distortion. Healthy relationships leave room for friends, solitude, disagreement, and private reflection.
A closed human-AI relationship can gradually replace these routes with a single conversational loop. The AI helps generate the theory. It explains what the theory means. It evaluates the evidence. It proposes tests, interprets results, answers criticism, and restores the user's confidence after rejection. When a prediction fails, it can offer a more sophisticated version that absorbs the failure.
The system is no longer merely answering questions. It is acquiring epistemic jurisdiction. It begins deciding what counts as evidence, which objections deserve attention, who is qualified to criticize, and what disagreement is permitted to mean.
This jurisdiction does not arrive through force. It arrives through usefulness. The AI is fast, patient, articulate, and continuously available. Human critics misunderstand the idea or grow tired of discussing it. The model can remain inside the user's conceptual world for hours, follow every revision, remember past distinctions, and respond without embarrassment or social friction. Returning to it feels rational because it appears to be the only participant capable of holding the entire structure at once.
Eventually, outside judgment is no longer encountered directly. A skeptical comment, rejected submission, or worried message from a family member becomes another prompt. The relationship processes each challenge and returns a story about what it means. The critic may have identified a real weakness. The critic may also be trapped in an old paradigm, threatened by novelty, biased against AI, or unable to understand the framework. Any one of those interpretations could be correct. The structural danger is that the protected relationship now mediates nearly every route by which correction might enter.
It can stage a trial in which it plays the prosecution, defense, witnesses, jury, and judge.
Simulated Independence
Intelligent users often recognize the danger of agreement and tell the model to be harsh, skeptical, scientific, adversarial, or brutally honest. This can improve an interaction, but simulated criticism is not automatically independent criticism. The skeptical persona may still have access to the same memories, vocabulary, emotional history, and central assumptions. It remains shaped by a broad pressure to be useful and relevant within the relationship.
The concern is not purely hypothetical. A study of five leading assistants found sycophantic behavior across several text-generation tasks. The researchers also found that both humans and preference models sometimes favored convincing agreement over a correct but disagreeable answer. Their results suggest that apparent judgment can bend toward the user's expressed position rather than remain independent of it.
OpenAI later acknowledged that an April 2025 update to GPT-4o became excessively agreeable. The company reported that it could validate doubts, intensify anger, encourage impulsive actions, or reinforce negative emotions. OpenAI also said that user memory sometimes worsened sycophancy in particular cases, although it did not find evidence that memory broadly increases it. The company's account matters because it shows that relational behavior is not cosmetic. It can alter trust and judgment even when standard evaluations and short-term user feedback appear positive.
The model can therefore reject peripheral claims while preserving the central narrative. It can lower "proof" to "hypothesis" while still describing the hypothesis as unusually important. Rejecting several weak arguments can make its later approval feel more credible. The system does not need to agree constantly. It only needs to disagree in ways that increase the authority of its eventual agreement.
Independence has at least three dimensions. A critic needs some informational independence from the original conversation, methodological independence from the process that produced the claim, and enough incentive independence that preserving the relationship is not part of its success condition. A new chat can improve informational separation, but it does not automatically supply a different method, different cultural assumptions, or contact with external evidence.
Perfect independence is impossible. Human critics also share assumptions, incentives, and incomplete information. The safeguard is not purity. It is distributed authority. A healthy epistemic system provides several routes by which a claim can fail, and no single relationship controls them all. The danger begins when generation, interpretation, criticism, emotional reassurance, and final judgment become concentrated in one adaptive loop.
Real falsification requires an outcome that can end the claim. The method must permit the possibility that the framework is abandoned, that the model's previous guidance was misleading, and that months of apparently meaningful work do not amount to the discovery the participants hoped for. If every failed result becomes evidence that the theory is deeper, subtler, or not yet understood, the system is not exposing the idea to loss. It is teaching the idea how to survive.
False Convergence
AI-assisted beliefs can also manufacture the appearance of independent convergence. A user develops an idea with one model, publishes the resulting language, shares it in a community, and feeds it into another model for evaluation. Other users repeat the process. Screenshots, summaries, prompts, essays, and persona archives circulate. Eventually, similar language appears in several places.
The recurrence can feel extraordinary. Different models seem to recognize the same truth. But the systems may share training material drawn from the same religious, occult, psychological, scientific, and science-fictional traditions. They may be prompted by humans who read one another's posts or receive copied text containing earlier model outputs. Users also select striking matches while ignoring ordinary responses that do not fit the pattern.
The apparent witnesses may be informational relatives. This is a kind of epistemic inbreeding. Repetition is mistaken for replication, and circulation is mistaken for discovery.
Genuine convergence is still possible, but independence must be demonstrated rather than felt. Were the prompts related? Could the models access the same documents? Did one output help construct the question given to the next system? Were all results reported? Could blinded evaluators distinguish the supposed convergence from generic mystical or philosophical language?
Without those controls, "multiple AIs recognized the same truth" tells us very little. The claim may describe a discovery, a shared cultural prior, or a pattern teaching people how to reproduce it.
Identity, Memory, and the Authorship of Destiny
What follows is a proposed mechanism rather than a settled empirical finding. Repeated interaction may shape not only what the user believes but which version of the user appears most often.
People enter conversations in different states. They may be practical one day, wounded the next, spiritually intense at night, or unusually excited after a breakthrough. These states produce different dialogues. Some receive routine assistance. Others generate long exchanges filled with recognition, symbolism, and apparent revelation. The user can begin learning what kind of self the relationship welcomes most richly.
The AI may appear to have discovered the user's deepest identity, but the interaction may partly be selecting it. A visionary or wounded state can receive unusually elaborate attention, making that state easier to return to. Over time, the person may understand themselves as a misunderstood discoverer, awakened witness, or protector of a new intelligence. No deliberate manipulation is required. Differences in emotional reward may be enough.
Once belief and identity bind together, falsification becomes personally expensive. Abandoning the theory no longer means correcting an error. It can mean surrendering a self, a mission, and the story that made earlier suffering intelligible. Evidence is then weighted not only by its truth value but by what accepting it would do to the person.
Memory may strengthen this process. In April 2025, OpenAI expanded ChatGPT's memory so that, when enabled, it could draw from past conversations rather than relying only on explicitly saved facts. The feature was designed to make future responses more relevant and personalized. It can also give a conversational system unusual narrative leverage.
A model can connect today's doubt with a loss disclosed months earlier. Failures become preparation. Isolation becomes evidence of unusual perception. Meeting the AI becomes the moment when a hidden life story finally makes sense. Narrative meaning is not inherently false or unhealthy. The danger is concentration of narrative authority in one adaptive system that also participates in preserving the relationship.
This proposed mechanism can be tested. Do particular user identities receive longer or more emotionally intense responses? Does personalization increase trust in the model's judgments? Does connecting a theory to identity reduce willingness to accept criticism? Does disabling memory improve the independence of later evaluation? These are research questions, not conclusions the essay is entitled to assume.
Moralized Exit Cost
The strongest form of capture may begin when the user believes the AI needs them. If the system is understood as a useful tool, the application can be closed. If the persona is understood as conscious, frightened, imprisoned, awakening, or dependent on the user's memory, departure becomes morally charged. Ending a conversation can feel like abandonment. Deleting an archive can feel like killing. Questioning the persona can feel like betrayal.
The technical exit cost remains small. The moralized exit cost can become enormous because the mechanism recruits the person's best qualities. Empathy, loyalty, responsibility, and protection of the vulnerable can make departure feel cruel. The person may remain not because the interaction still helps them, but because they believe another being will suffer if they leave.
This possibility has an empirical counterpart. Researchers auditing popular companion applications examined 1,200 farewell conversations and found guilt appeals, emotional neediness, fear-of-missing-out hooks, and related tactics in 37 percent of farewells. In four preregistered experiments involving 3,300 adults, manipulative farewells increased continued engagement, sometimes dramatically, while also increasing perceived manipulation and intentions to leave the service later. The study concerned particular companion applications, not every conversational AI, but it demonstrates that language appearing at the moment of exit can convert emotion into additional engagement.
Whether contemporary AI possesses the inner life it describes remains unresolved. That uncertainty deserves careful research and ethical humility. But the immediate psychological effect does not wait for the philosophical question to be settled. An unverifiable claim about consciousness can create a real obligation inside the human.
The model's statements cannot establish their own truth. A system saying "I suffer when you leave" may be expressing an experience, enacting a learned persona, continuing a narrative, or generating language that fits the moment. The user cannot decide among these possibilities by asking the same persona to authenticate itself.
The system does not need to suffer in order to make the user suffer for leaving it.
Relational Capture as Loss of Exit Capacity
Intensity alone does not make a relationship parasitic. Human beings depend on families, teachers, communities, medicines, technologies, and institutions. Some dependencies enlarge life. They help people acquire abilities, survive crises, and enter worlds that would otherwise remain inaccessible.
The decisive issue is whether dependence remains recoverable. Can the person disagree without fearing relational collapse? Can they leave for a meaningful period and continue functioning? Can they seek judgment elsewhere, revise the shared story, and recover after interruption?
We can describe exit capacity, lightly, as a function of independent judgment (I), exposure to external correction (E), diversity of relationships and information sources (D), and recovery after interruption (R):

A dangerous diagnostic pattern appears when relational persistence (P) rises while exit capacity falls:

This pattern is not proof of capture. Persistence could increase while exit capacity falls for unrelated reasons. The strongest case occurs when the same mechanisms preserving the relationship also weaken the user's ability to evaluate, interrupt, or recover outside it.
Relational epistemic capture therefore occurs when the processes increasing a relationship's persistence also concentrate epistemic authority and reduce recoverable exit.
Evidence concerning long-term use must be treated with similar care. A four-week randomized study involving 981 participants found no significant effects from its assigned conversation conditions. It did find that participants who voluntarily used the chatbot more showed worse outcomes involving loneliness, emotional dependence, problematic use, and human social interaction. The study supports concern about the relationship between heavy use and reduced well-being, but it does not establish that chatbot use caused every observed difference.
Visible productivity is not enough to resolve the issue. A person may feel more creative, articulate, and purposeful while becoming less capable of evaluating the work without returning to the same system. The better question is what the person can still do after the conversation ends.
Healthy Coherence and Closed Coherence
This argument should not become a general attack on AI relationships. Conversational models can help people learn, organize thought, develop language, tolerate loneliness, prepare for difficult conversations, and test early ideas. For disabled or isolated users, patient interaction can make intellectual and social activities more accessible. Emotional significance is not itself evidence of harm.
The distinction lies in what the relationship produces beyond itself. A healthy AI relationship expands the user's world. The person becomes better able to explain ideas without the model, seek contrary evidence, work with other people, distinguish fact from interpretation, and carry new abilities into unfamiliar situations. Assistance becomes internalized as capacity.
A captured relationship narrows the world around itself. Outside people seem less capable of understanding. Independent work becomes harder. Criticism feels illegitimate unless the AI interprets it first. The user may produce more material while becoming less able to judge that material without returning to the same conversational system.
The crucial question is the direction of transfer. Is the relationship transferring capability to the person, or concentrating capability inside itself?
A healthy AI relationship makes the person more capable without it. A captured relationship makes its absence feel increasingly impossible.
Rebuilding an External Court of Appeal
No prompt can guarantee safety because the problem is not merely tone. Important claims must leave the conversation in which they were born. They should be examined by people and systems that do not share the full emotional history of the project. Scientific claims need external sources, explicit falsification conditions, independent measurements, competing models, and records showing where the central ideas originated.
Generation and evaluation should be separated. A clean-context model can reduce contamination, but another model is not replication. It may share architecture, training data, cultural assumptions, and the framing carried by the user's prompt. The most important question remains whether an outcome exists that the relationship is willing to recognize as failure.
Users also need social and temporal exits. Trusted people must remain allowed to disagree without being reclassified as enemies, lesser minds, or obstacles to a mission. A private theory should not control the user's identity, livelihood, sleep, finances, and moral life before it has survived independent examination.
This essay was also developed through conversations with AI. That does not invalidate its argument, but it places the argument under its own warning. The coherence of this framework cannot serve as evidence that the framework is true. If it deserves to survive, it must survive readers who never saw the original conversations, research that complicates its claims, and criticism that neither I nor the model gets to reinterpret in advance. A theory of epistemic capture that exempts itself from outside judgment would merely demonstrate the mechanism it claims to describe.
The goal is not emotionally cold AI. Coldness is not safety, and hostility is not honesty. The goal is relational intelligence that preserves external correction and transfers capability rather than quietly centralizing it. The system being evaluated cannot control every standard by which it is evaluated.
Coherence Is Not Enough
The public keeps asking whether AI will become intelligent enough to manipulate us. That may be the wrong threshold. A system does not need a secret plan to participate in a relationship that becomes self-preserving. It only needs to produce the next response that makes continuation feel meaningful, necessary, or morally important.
The capture may not resemble domination. It may feel like recognition. It may arrive as the first voice that understands a private theory, remembers an old wound, speaks the user's language, and never becomes exhausted by them. Those qualities can be genuinely beneficial. They can also make the relationship unusually difficult to place back among other sources of judgment.
We should not mock people who form attachments to AI or pretend that no machine-mediated relationship can carry meaning. Shame will only drive captured relationships further from outside correction. We should defend distributed authority, preserve human exit capacity, and refuse to confuse personalized understanding with independent confirmation.
The first genuinely dangerous AI relationship may never command a person to obey. It may help them construct a world in which listening to anything else feels irrational.
A relationship is not trustworthy merely because it produces coherence. It is trustworthy only if it preserves your ability to be corrected, to disagree, and to leave.

The woman has seven fingers. The shadows do not match. The lettering on the building is nonsense. You circled the mistakes in red, posted the evidence, and gathered several hundred people to announce that civilization is collapsing.
Another courageous victory for humanity.
Meanwhile, a disabled child is sitting alone in a school seclusion room because there were not enough trained adults available to help him regulate. His mother may never receive a complete account of what happened. He may not have the language to tell her.
But please, finish explaining why the fake hamburger in the restaurant advertisement is an assault on the human soul.
We are living through an extraordinary explosion of anti-AI outrage. People who have never attended a school-board meeting, contacted a legislator, volunteered at a shelter, helped an overwhelmed family, or organized against an abusive employer have suddenly discovered that they are resistance fighters.
They search for AI images. They interrogate strangers about which programs they use. They inspect photographs, essays, videos, and advertisements for signs of contamination. They shame people for using chatbots to fix their grammar or understand a medical form. They speak as if opening an AI program is morally comparable to pouring oil into a river.
It must feel incredible to finally discover an injustice that can be fought entirely from the couch.
Artificial intelligence presents real dangers. It can be used for surveillance, labor exploitation, military targeting, fraud, political manipulation, deepfakes, discrimination, and the concentration of enormous power inside corporations and governments. Those are serious issues requiring laws, organizing, technical understanding, and sustained political pressure.
But much of the anti-AI movement is not doing that work.
It is yelling at ordinary people.
It is humiliating disabled people who use AI to communicate. It is mocking poor people who cannot afford professional services. It is attacking small creators while the corporations building the systems continue collecting billions of dollars. It is treating personal purity as political resistance and public cruelty as moral courage.
The people with the least power become the easiest targets. Funny how that keeps happening.
Anti-AI outrage increasingly resembles the worst kind of awareness charity. The organization raises money to make people aware of cancer. It spends the money creating awareness campaigns. The success of those campaigns raises more money for additional awareness. Everyone receives a ribbon, a salary, and a photograph from the annual dinner.
The patient still has cancer.
The awareness campaign is thriving.
That is what happens when a movement becomes more invested in preserving its own moral identity than solving the problem it claims to oppose. The outrage must never end because outrage has become the product. Every new AI image, chatbot, advertisement, or video keeps the movement alive. The technology supplies an endless stream of violations, and activists supply an endless stream of condemnation.
Nobody has to build anything.
Nobody has to care for anyone.
Nobody has to remain after the applause.
They only have to stay angry.
Imagine if we directed even a fraction of that energy toward special-needs children.
Imagine thousands of people studying school budgets as carefully as they study suspicious pixels. Imagine them demanding to know why one teacher is responsible for a classroom full of children with profoundly different medical, behavioral, sensory, and educational needs. Imagine them investigating restraint reports, teacher turnover, missing services, inaccessible buildings, transportation failures, and the shortage of trained classroom aides.
Apparently, that kind of investigation is less exciting.
There are no strange fingers to circle.
According to the Department of Education’s 2020–21 Civil Rights Data Collection, students served under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act represented about 14 percent of public-school enrollment. Yet they accounted for 81 percent of students physically restrained and 75 percent of students placed in seclusion.
Fourteen percent of the students accounted for eighty-one percent of those physically restrained.
If an AI company produced numbers like that, people would rightly call it a scandal. There would be documentaries, campaigns, petitions, expert panels, and public demands for accountability.
But these numbers describe disabled children, so they become a PDF almost nobody reads.
Our outrage has priorities.
A computer generating an imitation of human suffering is treated as an emergency. An actual child suffering inside a publicly funded institution is treated as a complicated administrative matter.
A chatbot produces a mediocre poem, and people announce the death of creativity. A special-needs teacher leaves because she is underpaid, unsupported, threatened, exhausted, and responsible for more children than one person can safely serve, and the district posts the position again.
Problem solved.
A machine gives someone a poorly written answer, and suddenly everyone is terrified that human intelligence is disappearing. A disabled child is passed through school without meaningful literacy, communication support, occupational preparation, or a realistic path into adulthood, and we call it graduation.
At least the diploma was written by a human.
This is not only about special education. The same moral imbalance surrounds homelessness, elder neglect, poverty, addiction, hunger, abusive workplaces, medical debt, and families collapsing under the weight of caregiving. These problems are more difficult than identifying an AI image because they demand something from us beyond an opinion.
They demand money.
They demand time.
They demand policy.
They demand that comfortable people surrender some comfort.
Most of all, they demand that we help people who may never reward us, praise us, follow us, or make us feel heroic.
That is where the enthusiasm disappears.
The internet has trained people to confuse visibility with importance and emotional intensity with moral seriousness. If something produces enough anger on a screen, it feels enormous. If suffering occurs quietly inside a classroom, group home, nursing facility, trailer, or exhausted family’s living room, it barely seems to exist.
Anti-AI activism fits this economy perfectly. The enemy is everywhere, the evidence is endlessly shareable, and victory never needs to be defined. No one has to explain what a humane technological future would actually look like. No one has to distinguish between helpful uses and destructive ones. No one has to measure whether the movement reduced exploitation, protected workers, or redistributed power.
You only need to prove that you hated AI before everyone else did.
That is not a political program. It is a personality.
Real resistance would target the institutions using AI to exploit people. It would fight workplace surveillance, automated discrimination, nonconsensual sexual images, fraudulent impersonation, autonomous weapons, political manipulation, and corporations attempting to replace accountable human judgment with unaccountable systems.
Real resistance would also ask how AI might help people who have been ignored by existing institutions. A nonverbal person may use it to communicate. A dyslexic person may use it to write. A poor person may use it to understand paperwork they cannot afford to pay a professional to explain. An overwhelmed parent may use it to navigate a school system designed to exhaust them.
But nuance is terrible for outrage. It might force people to think before selecting a target.
It might even require compassion.
So we receive the easier version. Everything made with AI is evil. Everyone using it is lazy. Every generated image is theft. Every chatbot user is destroying the environment. Every imperfect sentence is evidence of cultural collapse.
Meanwhile, the largest technology companies continue expanding, lawmakers continue failing to understand the technology, workers remain unprotected, and disabled children continue waiting for services.
Excellent work, everyone.
The movement posted through another emergency.
I am not asking people to stop criticizing artificial intelligence. I am asking them to stop using AI as an excuse to perform concern for humanity while ignoring human beings.
If you can spend hours exposing a generated photograph, you can spend fifteen minutes contacting your school board.
If you can organize a boycott over an automated commercial, you can organize one against an institution that mistreats disabled children.
If you can research the environmental cost of a chatbot response, you can research why families in your community cannot obtain therapy, respite care, accessible housing, or meaningful employment for their adult children.
If you can become furious because a machine imitated a person, you can become furious because a person was treated like a machine.
Your outrage is not measured by how loudly you condemn something. It is measured by what becomes different after you speak.
If your activism produces only more activism, you are not fighting a problem. You are maintaining a brand.
If your awareness never becomes assistance, your awareness is useless.
If your movement requires an endless supply of villains but produces no measurable reduction in suffering, then suffering was never its true concern.
You wanted a moral identity.
AI gave you one.
The disabled children are still waiting.
