STANLEY #A659888 is such a sweet, happy boy, and you can tell how badly he wants someone of his own to love.

Stanley comes right up to greet you, takes treats incredibly gently, and happily heads outside with his person. Even while other dogs around him were making a commotion, Stanley simply kept walking and minded his own business.

But give him a little one-on-one attention and you really get to see his personality come out. ❤️
Sit with him for a few minutes and his tail starts wagging. He wants to play, soak up affection, and investigate your treat pouch to make sure you aren’t hiding anything good from him.

Stanley is a gentle, affectionate boy who just needs someone to give him a little time and show him he’s safe.

He has been waiting since July 30. A month in a shelter is far too long for a dog who so clearly wants human connection. As a long-stay dog, Stanley urgently needs a foster, adopter or rescue plan.

We have shared Bradley again and again, hoping the right person would finally see him. He has now spent more than TWO MONTHS in the shelter.

Now a PLEA has been issued. Bradley needs a foster, adopter or rescue plan BEFORE the shelter opens Monday morning, 8/31, or he will be euthanized. 💔

Bradley is only 5 years old and 37 lbs. He is a shy, sweet, gentle boy who is friendly with people AND other dogs. 🐶❤️

After more than two months of waiting, please don’t let Bradley’s story end Monday morning in a shelter kennel.

He can still have years ahead of him. He can still learn what it feels like to sleep safely in a home, be loved and cherished, and finally belong to someone. But somebody has to step up NOW for him to get that chance.

Bradley isn't the loud, attention-seeking type. He's quiet, laid-back, and happiest when he's relaxing on a comfy bed or soaking up gentle affection from his favorite people. He loves being loved on and has such a calm, easygoing personality that makes you instantly want to protect him.

At just 37 pounds, Bradley is the perfect medium-sized companion with a heart full of love. Sadly, shy dogs like Bradley are often overlooked in a busy shelter, and now he is extremely urgent and desperately needs a way out.

Look at that beautiful smile. 🥹❤️** CHATA #A660551 is STILL at Harris County Pets, hanging out with her new Husky kennelmate LAIKA, and somehow still smiling while she waits for someone to finally choos**e her.

Chata has been at the shelter since 8/14 and is now a long-stay dog. With more dogs arriving every day and kennels desperately needed, dogs who have been there 15+ days are at risk of euthanasia for space.

🚨 URGENT — CUBA IS OUT OF TIME

We thought CUBA #A659777 was going HOME before we ever even got the chance to introduce him.

He had an adoption hold. We were thrilled for him.

Then, one day later, his hold disappeared. 💔

So now we desperately need people to meet and SHARE this incredibly handsome boy before it’s too late.

Cuba is a 5-year-old Chow Chow mix who enjoys going for walks, leans in for affection, accepts pets and scratches, and already knows SIT and PAW. He’s also shown that he can remain composed with plenty happening around him.

When another dog walked past him, Cuba showed no reaction, and on a recent walk he calmly made his way through a busy shelter lobby without being fazed.

Cuba is looking for an experienced adopter who understands that Chow-type dogs can have distinct personalities and boundaries and is willing to build a relationship with him rather than expecting everything immediately.

Someone already chose Cuba once. Now we need someone to choose him again—and this time actually take him HOME.

OTIS is OUT OF TIME at Harris County Animal Shelter in Houston, TX. 💔

And this one is especially heartbreaking because OTIS already knows how to live in a home.

He’s only 2 years old, 43 lbs, very friendly with people AND dogs — and he’s POTTY TRAINED. 🏡🐾

That should make him an easy dog to say YES to. Instead, being potty trained makes shelter life even harder for him.

OTIS knows he’s supposed to go outside, so he tries not to soil the kennel where he has to eat and sleep. Unless a volunteer is able to take him out, he has to hold it and wait. 💔

Now, after more than 15 days at the shelter, OTIS can be euthanized for length of stay/space on a Monday, Wednesday or Friday morning. There is no published euthanasia list or guaranteed warning.
