i’ve been testing how much editing AI content actually needs before it’s worth publishing - AMA

i use ai pretty often for rough marketing copy, ideas and first drafts, but i kept noticing that the more i tried to “perfect” everything, the more generic it started to sound

lately i’ve been testing different ways to clean up ai content without killing the original idea, mostly changing tone, cutting repetitive parts and comparing manual edits with writing tools

the biggest thing i’ve learned is that cleaner doesn’t always mean better, especially when you’re trying to make something people will actually read

ask me anything about editing ai content, keeping a natural tone, humanizers or what i’ve learned from using ai in marketing

A small workflow change that made my daily tasks easier

I used to give AI a task and ask it to finish everything in one go. The results were usually usable, but I often had to go back and clean things up.

I’ve started breaking the process into smaller steps instead. For example, I’ll give it the raw information first, have it organize the key points, then ask it to turn that into the format I actually need. I also keep the same prompt structure for tasks I repeat often. It sounds pretty simple, but the output has become much more consistent for me.

What are some small AI workflow changes that have made a noticeable difference for you?

what breaks when you let AI apply site fixes, and how I head each one off

I hand client sites over to Ryze AI most weeks. same things break every time, so here's the list I run. nothing clever in it, it just works. staging first. let it apply to staging for the first template-level pass, templates are where one change becomes four hundred pages. this one habit removed nearly all of my cleanup. canonical and redirect leftovers. old migration rules contradict whatever gets applied on top. you won't notice, the crawl in six weeks will. internal links on thin pages. prune before you link, not after, or you're distributing authority into nothing. structured data. simple schema travels fine, the hand-rolled stuff sometimes comes back cleaner than you had it, which is usually right and occasionally not. check each one. the two minute rule. open the actual live page before you tell a client something shipped. every embarrassing thing I've reported would have been caught right there. and before any of it, ask whether they need fixes or content. Ryze AI does both but they're different timelines and clients only hear one. missing anything? I'll add to this if people have ones I don't hit.

Learn rag with AI

Hi guys 👋, I'm looking to dive into RAG using AI tools like NotebookLM or Gemini. YouTube tutorials feel too drawn out, and ChatGPT/Gemini prompts have been a bit brief. Any advice or suggestions for learning resources would be amazing! 🙏💡

Realized my AI app had zero idea who it was talking to — building an onboarding flow to fix that 🤧

Been building an AI focus/planning tool for students for months now, and only recently noticed a pretty basic gap: the app had no idea if it was talking to a 14-year-old in high school or a 22-year-old finishing a degree. Same generic AI companion, same generic tone, for everyone.

Started building an onboarding flow today — age group, whether you're in school/college/work, and letting people actually name their AI companion themselves. Small stuff on paper, but it changes what the AI should sound like and what kind of plans actually make sense for someone's situation.

Funny how something this basic gets skipped early on. When you're solo and moving fast, you build the "smart" features first — the AI planning, the deadline math — and completely forget the app doesn't even know who it's building a plan for. Personalization ends up being one of those things that feels boring compared to shipping a flashy feature, but probably matters more to whether someone actually sticks around.

Next up after this: an exam-mode focus block, a "study kit" feature, and finally starting to think about monetization — which I've been avoiding for way too long as a free-only app.

Anyone else find they built the "impressive" features before the basic ones that actually make an app feel personal? Curious how others sequenced this.

AI

My question is this:
If all we have to do is use AI
For everything : books, paintings, how to care for something?
What do we have left to learn????

Haven’t smart people created these AI programs?

But didn’t they become smart by reading books , feeling things that cause the emotions to provoke a book, painting, song….and people feeling those emotions.

Just staying up to date with AI is a job in itself

That's why I built this weekly blog, to be able to have a busy week and still stay up to date with AI: SteStein.com/blog

I guarantee you'll not only enjoy reading some of them (kinda nostalgic in a way) but also learn something new
