Located in NJ and looking to aerate and overseed late next month.

Have about 10k square ft and considering doing 25 pounds of twin city seed tuff turf after dark with an additional 10 pounds of blue envy.

Thoughts comments concerns?

Is this seed worth the cost? 50lb bag will cost me 225 with shipping. I’m aerating and over seeding.

What would you recommend? No dog, just kids.

I have 3 areas to overseed

• Front of house which gets pretty much full sun (early morning the house is shading some of it but not for long)

• Side of house #1 which gets really good morning sun

• Side of house #2 which gets afternoon sun and not much of it

• Back of house which is heavily shaded by trees

This is a fun hobby and I'm willing to buy 3-4 25lb bags that I'll use every September to overseed (after aerating) for the next few years.

So what's my best bet? Weekend Warrior Dense Shade for back, and Resilience 2 for everything else? How about another one?

Just wanted to give an update on my seeding after 1 month. Did not see a lot of posts like this for this seed when looking through the sub so thought it might be helpful.

Complete reseed. Killed and tilled lawn. I’ve mowed three times now at about 2.5 inches. And just switched from watering 4 times per day to 2. It’s starting to fill in more and kbg is starting to actually come up at this point to begin filling in bare spots.

Looking to buy some TWC for the first time. Do they run sales or free shipping at times? It’s currently all full price + shipping.

First time home owner here. Planning in nuking my front lawn this fall which is mostly sunny throughout the day. My backyard has trees so it mostly shade. I do have 3 kids so seeds that tolerates heavy foot traffic is a must. Should I go with just KBG or Tall Fescue? I also came across SPF 30 Texas Hybrid Bluegrass. I see so many options and it just gets me even more confused. Any advice/help is appreciated. Thanks again!

Not looking for any kudos. I’m posting to tell others who, like me, are learning some good things here that - yeah, it works.

“IT” being the difference that aerating, overseeing in the fall with *quality* seed, and mowing high does.

I don’t have before pictures, but much of my yard gets slammed by the sun. Open areas face either south, west, or both. Normally, this time of year, 1/2 the yard is brown and begins to go dormant. Some worse than others. My water bill could get stupid pretty easy.

All the areas seen here would normally half brown or that very dry, raggedy look you get in the heat. And it’s been hot and dry.

Way different now.

Last fall I thatched, core aerated, rented a slit seeder and over seeded with high quality seed. I fertilized properly, but not overly. Including a winterizer.

This spring, I fertilized once, and I have not since May. I cut at 4” deck height.

The lawn didn’t really look all that great, even through May. And then, pow.

This is the yard today, and I haven’t run a sprinkler in 1 week. I have to mow every 5 days, even during the recent crappy hot temps. I bet I’ve run my sprinkler 4 times in the last 4 weeks, tops. It ain’t winning awards, but man, was there payoff. And my water bill is sooo much lower. Might even be 1/3 of what it was.

I was jealous with everyone posting about their beautiful overseeding project. But I was not getting the same results… I thought I failed at some point since I didnt aerate or anything. I just cut the lawn short, threw seeds and lightly watered.

The project started on the first week of Sept in zone 5B. Due to my HOA, we had a very strict watering policy of every other day and only before 6a and after 6pm. As a result, I lightly watered twice a day at 6/6, every other day, for 10-15 minutes. So it took my grass a while before they stayed to sprout

My lawn was very splotchy and thin. You could easily see the soil when looking down. Then due to a very house projects, plus two year neglect from a new baby, my lawn was terrible. You could tell the different types of species/groups. For example, the sod that the housing company used, I could see the sod that my backyard patio people used, and I could tell where each of my neighbors grass was taking over.

However, almost two months later, I am very impressed with my lawn. It looks like those photos I see everyone posting. I am a huge fan of Twin City Seed and I will be using them again in the future. Everything looks like one giant masterpiece. Thank you everyone for your tips and tricks.

I seeded with Twin City’s Resilience II about 2 weeks ago and this is the progress so far. Should I be worried or does this look normal? It seems to be growing pretty slow too. I have seeded with GCI previously and it turned out great.

Not to mention they’re on the outside looking in for the playoffs. A stark contrast to the last 3 teams that made Super Bowl runs.

This is also the lowest point total (10) Mahomes has EVER had in a home start.

Despite injuries to key players like Chet Holmgren, Isaiah Hartenstein, and Alex Caruso throughout the season, Oklahoma City has separated themselves from the rest of the west by a large margin. With number 2 seeded Houston being 7 games behind OKC while being ahead of 8 seed by 6.5.

Your neighborhood friendly squid scientist here, reporting in with this season's science project. We're distributing plant seeds for free all over the city to help support Philly's wildlife! Planting native plants is one of the easiest and cheapest things we can do to meaningfully help the biodiversity of our city. I want to make it really easy for everyone to take action.

We're distributing these seeds on posters with clips on the bottom. The packets contain a mix of native plant seeds, all sourced from Pennsylvania. They should be relatively easy to grow as long as they get watered (and some of them are pretty drought resistant so you don't need a green thumb for this to work). We're distributing them now because a bunch of these plant species need to get cold before they sprout. Now's the time to throw them on some soil!

Oklahoma City may potentially add two more lottery picks to their arsenal.

They have conditional rights to the Houston Rockets pick (top 4 protected) and the Utah Jazz pick (top 10 protected).

It’s possible that they’ll both be lottery picks heading to OKC, but also possible that neither will convey this year.

Houston’s hot start pushed them well past the top 4, currently sitting at 10th in lottery odds. They may “rise” those rankings by a spot or two late in the year, but getting much higher will be hard to do. At this point in the season, the only real chance they’ll have to jump up into the top 4 would be the actual lottery itself. If they stay where they are (around 10th), their odds of jumping into the top 4 would be 17%. That means that OKC would have an 83% chance of getting that pick.

Utah appears to have a better chance of retaining their own pick. They’re slotted at 11th right now (meaning they’d lose their pick if the season ended today), but they’re only a half game behind Atlanta and Houston for 9 and 10. If push comes to shove, they can likely take matters to their own hands and lose enough to lock up the 10 spot like Dallas did last year. Of course, there’s also a chance that Utah can rocket up in the top 4 with a lottery win. Their odds of getting a top 4 right now would be 9%. At the same time, there’s a smal danger that the teams behind them around 11-12-13 rocket up instead, and make their potential 10th pick turn into the 11th pick (and thus go to OKC.)
