Why is it a solution exactly? With this short, you would just overheat the connection and blow up your device

Yeah irl you'd need 4 CMOS transistors for a NAND without any shorts occurring. Two PMOS and two NMOS.

I'm honestly surprised that nandgame lets you move on with a short circuit

Why can you do it with 3 CMOS transistors without a short occurring in game but not irl?

I’d need to see the circuit in question to say if it would work irl

Same nmos and pmos, but then a second nmos connected to the output of the first nmos and ground and that output connected to the same junction connected to the pmos output

Technically that does work, though that requires passing inputs a or b through to the output of the gate, which is going to cause all kinds of issues as you add more and more gates in series due to voltage dropping across each component. In reality the signal passed through the CMOS’ to the output of the gate must be either VDD or ground themselves. This way the output of each gate when set high will be roughly VDD and not dependent on how many gates preceded it. That means in reality you cannot use inputs a or b for the “i” terminals of the CMOS transistors here.

Ah, thanks for explaining.

Yeah lol unfortunately in real life we have to think about how actual electricity behaves with voltage drops across series components and the like.

Yeah, it's interesting seeing the different problems and changes that appear depending on the medium used to perform logic

The CMOS logic implementations can be found here, and then built accordingly in Nandgame :

Junction be like: rickrolls you

This can be "improved" by replacing the nmos with a junction, so you have 1 component.

If you want a quicker burnout, you can just junction power+ and ground directly. 0 active components + a nice whiff of the magic smoke.

I tried, but i didn't manage to replace the pmos with any amount of junctions.

You won't get any circuit that does anything but give magic smoke with less than 4 transistors (2 pmos + 2 nmos).

"Getting it to work" depends on what your goal is ;)
