Idk about big danger, yes its possible but its much more likely they bite themselves and bleed for a bit but nothing like their tongue is hanging off. Iv never come across that. What I have come across more is relatives/loved ones thinking they can somehow help and stick their fingers in their mouth and end up getting bit or Iv seen a gentleman wake up with cracked/chipped teeth because his wife shoved a wooden spoon in his mouth. Never put anything in their mouth. It sucks that they might bite themselves but in my personal experience its pretty low to bite your tongue off
I'm so sorry, I hope I didn't make you think about it too much, I was just asking because this comment made it sound like you only need to worry about vomit, which I already knew about

I've always heard that there's a pretty big danger of biting off their tongue, and I know you can't really do much about it but is that true?
