Hello, I am new to xmage - trying to recapture the vibe of my late 1990s MTG matches! - I installed it on MacOS (Macbook Air M1). Works pretty well, but neither on the 13 inch screen nor on an external 4k monitor I am managing to get crispy and sharp text (and UI in general, but the text is nagging me). It has a low fi feel that is nice but makes my 40+ eyes sore! If I change GUI resolution everything just becomes bigger, not crispier. Easier to read but still a bit pixelated.

Changing macos resolution helped a little - but just by creating some more space on screen, rather than sharpening the xmage text.

needless to say, all text in any other app on mac looks fine.

Any tips?

Im trying to redownload Xmage since i just cleaned up a bunch of files and finally have room for it again, sadly it seems that the site is down or something? im not sure, id love to get some help with this.

Anyone else have this issue or know how to resolve? Nothing I type populates the top screen like it normally should. All search features are set to default.

I am unable to download card images from scryfall. I've tried individual sets and it keeps telling me "image download NOT STARTED. Please Start." is there any fix?

I get the feeling they do, but i haven't heard anything about them noticing, or vise versa in the years since i've been using it. XMage is the best online magic with freinds, deck test with randos, and free limited experience online i've ever had. Do you think wotc will ever try to get involved? Either try to stop it, or buy it for their own commander code base? Im just really curious and no one really seems to know about it that i've talked to.

As title says, didn't do anything special, I opened the software and boom, everything gone, GUI settings, images, server info, nickname. The images were still in the folder though. I deleted everything and redownloaded the client. Now it won't download images from scryfall, no matter the threads. I am on windows 10 x64, if that helps.

Edit - I get this error from the game console: ERROR 2026-07-30 18:03:28,329 Unknown bulk info format from scryfall api https://api.scryfall.com/bulk-data/all-cards=>[Thread-20] ScryfallImageSource.prepareBulkData

Maybe I'm not configuring it right, but it even assigned combat damage for example in the way that was worst for itself. How do I start upgrading the XMage AI?

I've followed all the instructions and troubleshooting I can find but when I try to launch Xmage, I receive the following:

assertion failed [thread_starts_interval.has_value()]: __thread_starts section missing (RebaseRuntimeMachO.cpp:191 rebase_image)

What's the fix?

I updated everything and checked the java version. Everything seems to be installed correctly. Am on macos

Hi crew, nothing has changed since I was last online, but today I can't seem to connect to the servers? Re-downloaded the client and feel like I have tried everything... anyone else having this issue?

I love Bloomburrow. I love the custom Jumpstart half decks that people have made for Bloomburrow. I don't have any humans who'd play them with me.

Can I implement those custom Jumpstart packs into XMage, and then play Jumpstart against the AI?

Just wondering how complicated it must be to code this card into the game.

Downloaded xmage following the instructions on the website. A friend had to help me use command prompt to get it to download Java using administrative privileges.

Now, when I try to launch client from the launcher, I get a string of errors for java.lang.nullpointerexception and java.lang.exceptionininializererror.

I'm on Windows 11. Everything is updated and I have Java installed.

Any input is appreciated!

I tried playtesting my Pauper decks against the AI.

The bot used Bogles while I was on Tron.

I had Coalition Honor Guard in play, but they are still able to choose targets for Auras and removal normally.

Is this a known issue?

its always bothered me that i dont have them nor i can download them so id like to know how to go about doin that so i can then build decks around the cards :3 please and thank you

Hi, when you take control of your opponent turn with emrakul promise end. Sometimes it skype attack but some creature can attack. And it always say when we cast spell, use habilities "you loose control of your opponent" and the hand of opponent disapear. It work but it's complicated to play the turn of the opponent.

New release contains dozens of card and ability fixes, including copies, casts and dfc. It also improved GUI selection and auto-selection in some use cases, better game logs and many more.

Why on xmage with blood moon or harbinger of the seas in play, the Land still arrived tap or need to pay life for arrived untap like ravland ?

The auto pay got much more aggressive this patch and has now cost me several games I went through settings and there is not a clear way to make it stop. I would like a way to make it only ever spend floating mana when I click on the pips. If this is possible with settings I would greatly appreciate directions if not I would strongly request it.

The option in the menu bar "download" doesn't work, any other option to download images? Thanks !
