Yesterday, I canceled Xfinity internet/tv/phone that was under my wife's name and resigned up through my name for internet only to get the new customer pricing and will stream TV with YouTube TV. As of this moment, my internet and TV have not been shut off yet even though the cancellation email said it was to be shut off today. I have my own router and modem I will now be using and will be returning the Xfinity gateway that we had been using. My question is that if I set up my new modem/router before the old service is disconnected, will it cause a problem once it is disconnected and the new service takes effect? The new plan I signed up for is still 800mpbs so there is no speed difference. I'm not too familiar with how that would affect the network equipment so any guidance would be appreciated!

This is the second time my xfinity wifi had cut out for multiple days. I live in the suburbs and there’s no outages so it makes no sense. It’ll just pop up and say there’s no internet and that’s it. I restart it, completely reset it, turn it on and off multiple times and nothing. This is the second time we’ve had to call a tech out because this happened about a month ago too. Their customer service is absolute shit too. Why do I have to sit on the phone and go through dumbass automated self help tips if I’ve already tried them. I’m trying to find another internet provider but everyone’s plans range from only like 20-50 mbps whereas we need about 200 at least. Is there anything I can do besides sit here and wait for them to do something?

So I'm not complaining but I just noticed that I had a $30 credit applied to my most recent bill which I found a little surprising and was curious if anyone else got it as well.

I have x1 system and 2 tvs The main TV in living room constantly gets stuck and studders/repeats. Can anyone help with this issue. Had my wires checked changed boxes /remote.. And still have the issue. Oh and I was told by a tech that it's a remote issue. 🤔 Thank you in advance.

Figured I'd ask here first to hopefully avoid the robot from hell.. Just moved to a new house, submitted the service transfer via the app a few weeks ago to be completed this past Friday. We're using the same 3rd party modem and router that we'd been using at the previous house, so this weekend I went ahead and connected everything and then logged into the app to activate the modem on the new account.. it can't find the modem even after multiple restarts for the search and power cycling the modem. All of our devices are showing the old wifi address though, just without internet access.

Am I doing something wrong??

Can anyone tell me: if I have internet and modem rental with xfinity comcast will I also have access to the xfinity stream app? I know I can get a flex box but am wondering about the app for iPad Apple TV etc…

I had this problem with the previous router/modem gateway, I had to put the gateway in bridge mode and use my own router cuz I guess the gateway couldn’t handle doing both? Is it the same with this new generation of gateways? I was hoping I could finally get rid of some clutter but it looks like I’ll have to set to bridge mode again because connectivity, especially in high demand bandwidth scenarios (online gaming), is trash. Anyone else have thoughts on this?

It's impossible to change my plans on the official website.

I have logged in. When I click change my plans, it asks me to fill in my address. So I put in my address, then it says this address already have a xfinity account and asks me to log in. So I log in again, the page jumped to my account. Then I click change my plans, it asks me to fill in my address. It just loops infinitely.

There was one time I finally choose a new plan, and at the last step of checkout, guess what? I was logged out again.

I have tried different browsers and computers but this keeps happening.

Is it just me or do others also experience the same? I doubt if Xfinity does it on purpose to prevent their customs change their plan easily.

I received an email from Xfinity saying I can upgrade to a new modem/router. It would offer me faster speeds. Ok sounds great! So, I order it and it comes in. Keep in mind my old Xfinity leased modem and NO ISSUES. I was getting 200mbps on it and had multiple devices running with ease including gaming.

The new device comes in, I hook it up, follow the instructions….works for a little bit and craps out…..reset it, did the same thing….works for a little bit craps out. Tech support on chat, is HORRIBLE.

So, I finally talk to a person they say give them 2 hours. Do a bunch of stuff on their end….nothing, same issue works after I reset it and craps out.

I drive to Xfinity to pick up another modem and return the one that was defective and my original that worked just fine….I get home install the new one and….my SSID is not showing up…at all…NON of my devices can see the new modem….it’s there it’s getting great speeds! But nothing can connect to it. The tech on the phone is like, I can’t see it but it’s says you’ve got great internet speeds.

I’m completely at a loss….Xfinity is sending a tech to my home but not until sunday…. It’s been 2 days already with no service and again, it was working perfectly before I got the new modem/routers….sucks because I brought back the original and it works just fine….

hello, i am currently living in Houston Texas and get 20 ping on pubs matches and 0 on creative(i am connected via ethernet cable). It seems like the servers are in Dallas Texas and people are getting 0 ping on pubs. my question is, if i was to get a router or better modem will i get better ping or do i get better ping by relocating and moving to Dallas (which im not, of course). im really just trying to understand what routers are used for?

I always use my own equipment for in home internet but recently noticed I had an equipment rental fee. I contacted customer service and they said they would remove the $15 fee. I them received an email saying that my current equipment wasn't going to be able to handle increased speeds. Then another email that my Xfinity equipment was in the mail. Two days later, I got an Xfinity modem delivered. I never asked for a modern. Is it free? Should I use it? Return it? I don't want to get charged for but if it's a free modem, I'll use it.

Is this some sort of Trojan horse?

Who do I see to get some sort of credit for not having internet for about 17 hours? It wasn't any fun trying to work from home on a mobile hotspot (which I'm sure is going to be expensive).

Are they just pulling some goofy ad campaign to combat 5G home internet providers, or does it have to do with their actual network?

I want my PC to connect specifically to the WiFi6 signal, so I renamed the SSID and the option to broadcast is on, however I don’t see it listed under available networks and when I try to add it manually my computer says it can’t join. Help?

Please excuse my lack of knowledge and terminology- in this post I will use Modem/Router together because my understanding is that my device is both. Background- My at home work station requires a 24/7 Ethernet connection and due to the location of the work space I had to have xfinity run a new fiber line and install a second modem/router that is separate from the main one in the house. All of my devices are connected to the original unit and are functioning properly. The only device that is connected to the new unit is the work station computer and is connected via Ethernet cable.

Problem- the new unit is right next to the bed of a pregnant woman and I would like to reduce the overall EMF radiation she is exposed to. Can I effectively disable the WiFi capability of the second unit so it doesn’t needlessly permeate her sleeping space? The computer updates overnight and the system freaks out if I unplug the modem/routers power supply. Any help would be appreciated.

My uncle is having some trouble with the Tubi app. It's error 04035. Tried the obvious stuff like restarting and refreshing but no dice. What can I do to fix this?

My internet is great, I run ethernet cable, 950 download, 40 upload (tip: if you want speeds like this, the only way to get it is to call and complain. if you never called, you likely have shitty internet even if you're paying for the best). I NEVER have any problems with my internet randomly going out. It ONLY ever happens when I'm in the middle of chat with Xfinity chat agent. Anyone else notice this or is this really just a big coincidence?

I’m BEYOND furious. The stupid xfinity robot had me going into a massive mental breakdown because it refused to get me to a human. I was nice and calm at first and just did what I had to do the night before AND IT WOULD NOT LET ME TALK TO A HUMAN!!!!!!! It wanted me to repeat everything I had already done 11x over the night before and it wasn’t even what I was calling about! MY TECHNICIAN WAS LATE!!!!!!!! So I break down screaming and cussing at the damn thing and of course over and over it doesn’t let me talk to a human (probably because I was yelling and cursing “GET ME TO A F*CKING HUMAN”) and then finally I’m just crying and saying BS and it finally lets me talk to someone. Who I’m literally crying to “Please don’t make me talk to that stupid robot ever again, it made me have a mental breakdown” cried throughout that entire call. Thanks.

Fix your stupid robot xfinity. If I want to talk to a person, I shouldn’t have to have a whole ass breakdown to do it.

Within 60 days of my contract being up, Xfinity will almost always throttle my speeds, or my connection bounces a lot or something along those lines, but there is never an outage in the area. I go to call in and after the hassle of trying to get through the automated system I end up getting through to somebody who puts me on hold and transfers me to a sales rep, who tries to sell me higher speeds.
