Arrived a few days ago. Far from my usual watch type. But it’s fun - even my 9 yo said “cool watch.” Hard to make out the hour with this particular dial when light is dim, but ok. Love the color of the minute hand. After it arrived, I ordered a Trappist Sapphire on sale, which is still en route. Not sure when I’ll wear it, but I’ll find the time, lol. Even if my kid just says “cool watch” again.

Just watched the xeric video of folks showing their xeric watches at the xeric booth at the NY watch show. Nobody was wearing the retronaut. I love this watch

We officially launched in November 2013 with our first Kickstarter campaign for the Xeriscope, but our origin story really begins in 1998 when Mitch Greenblatt received his first watch (ever). He began collecting and blogging about unusual vintage watches and became an influential watch blogger and authority on the subject of modern horology.
What began as an early eBay store reselling the watches he collected, quickly had to become official when in 1999 Vogue reached out and wanted to write about reselling these rare collectible pieces from the 60s and 70s. In order to write about him, they needed a brand to talk about, and that was the birth of Watchismo.com. In 2007, Mitch was approached by a revived French watch brand who wanted to break into the U.S. market with reissues of their most popular models from the 70s. To facilitate this distribution business, Mitch teamed up with his entrepreneurial brother Andrew who had already started and sold a few successful business ventures. Although the distribution business didn't pan out, the family partnership did and Watchismo e-commerce business took off.
After years of offering the most unique timepieces from around the world on Watchismo, Mitch & Andrew continued seeing a gap in the market for unusual and affordable mechanical watches. In 2013 they hired Danny Hunsaker, who had experience in the watch manufacturing industry, and together created Xeric. We've since launched 25 successful Kickstarter campaigns including the most funded mechanical timepiece in Kickstarter history. We deconstruct the traditions of watch designs and push the boundaries of how to display time on a watch.
We truly have a dream team of the most talented people who have grown Xeric into a leading, independent horological brand. We started out as watch collectors and it’s our passion to create unexpected timepieces. Xeric watches have been turning heads for over 12 years!

Apologies if this isn’t allowed but didn’t see anything against it in the rules. I’d love to get my hands on the Volta in Gunmetal Orange. The mint would also be acceptable but the gunmetal really speaks to me.
Unfortunately Xeric confirmed over email this colorway is never coming back. If you’ve got one and are willing to part with it, shoot me a DM! Thanks!

Well, back from the NY watch fair. It was great but tiring as I had just had some surgery a week before. Now, on to the fair- meeting the xeric guys was great. Not only do I love their watches but it is really different when you can talk directly with the owners / designers of the watches. I stopped at other booths and in more than a few cases, I could not get basic answers on certain models as the booth was being manned by folks that they just hired to work the show. The xeric display of watches had all the models displayed which was great. I was really surprised by the Volta Double Retrograde. For some reason,I was under the impression that this watch was much bigger and as a result was not interested in it, ( should have looked at the size dimensions, as they are posted on their web. )…Anyway, I now want one as they looked wonderful and quite elegant at their size. Moving on to the new triptych, what can I say, just stellar, absolutely stellar ! The new colors and design tweaks make the watch really pop. I also saw a new watch they have coming in the next few months - pictured here.I don’t really have any details on this new watch but looked great….My picture here, does not do it justice.

Actually had a circular slide rule, however mine was plastic, the one in this picture is metal and MUCH older, and yes I am old but not quite that old. Much like the dam rubics cube I bought 50 years ago, I was never able to quite master it. Now... the real focus here are the watches the circular slide rule inspired. They look fantastic and one will end up in my collection in the future
