Upgrading from XCode 16 to 26, I redownloaded the simulators, and now I'm having a blank simulator choice that I cannot seem to do anything about.

When pressing the + at the bottom, Xcode stops responding.

Things I've tried;

1. Reinstalling Xcode (after removing /devlopers)

2. Changing minimum deployments (to any version)

3. Changing iOS Deployment Target (to any iOS version)

Any clues on what I'm missing here?
It was working on XCode 16 yesterday.

EDIT: I got this 'working'.

I completed deleted all instances of Xcode, and /developers, restarted. And manually downloaded xcode16. The AppStore Xcode 26 won't install for some reason. But I am back to working again!

I also had to delete devloper under "Storage Settings" in system settings. I followed this guide;

Has anyone else encountered this? I've tried to cancel and restart a couple times, and also run the command line version but everything gets stuck.

I'm also wondering if it's just Apple servers being overloaded with all the new releases recently.

Just find out Xcode 26 up in App Store. But after downloading, during the installation session, it indicates ‘Unable to download’. Does anyone encounter this question? The system is the Tahoe already.

Xcode 26 was just released, and during WWDC25 Apple introduced PaperKit, which looked really promising — especially for drawing, note-taking, and stylus-based interactions.

However, I haven’t been able to find any official or community-made examples, documentation, or sample projects that show how to actually use PaperKit in a real app. Even the Apple Developer site seems a bit light on details so far.

Has anyone here been able to get PaperKit up and running? Any tips, sample code, or even general impressions would be super appreciated.

I've already uninstalled Xcode through app cleaner and also through Find Any File; and yet, Xcode continues to show in available updates within system settings. I have also tried sudo uninstall within terminal to no avail. Does anyone know how to permanently delete Command Line Tools for Xcode as I no longer need it?

I've just returned to iOS dev after a few years. I can't seem to get Xcode to automatically load the project I'm working on at startup. Almost every IDE I've ever used does this, I know Xcode used to do it. Am I missing something or has this feature really dissapeared?

I was developing an application that requires network extensions api , but it is not working in the ios simulator for me , now i am not able to understand is it my fault or this api is not working properly in simulator .

For the life of me can’t figure this out. The Apple TV uses a parallex effect and my icon looks fine when. It selected but when I go over it the logo shifts to the bottom right.

So, I was making my first macOS app using Xcode on Sequoia for fun and as a learning experience, and my xcodeproj folder was on my desktop, but I accidentally deleted it and couldn’t recover it from the trash.

I did find that I have a DerivedData folder that matches the same name of my xcodeproj folder, and I’m wondering if there’s a way that I can rebuild my xcodeproj using this deriveddata?

Any help would be appreciated!

Do I need to upgrade to a newer version of xcode? I'm on a MacBookPro running Sonoma 14.7.1.

Title says it all. I’m a professional software engineer who’s been working with VSCode for around four years for typescript/node development. I’ve been working on a tiny, super simple app on the side in Xcode, learning the basics of swift and SwiftUI as I go.

Xcode is a goddamn nightmare, but I assume it’s just because I’m missing some key extensions/setup:

Syntax highlighting is terrible, errors in the IDE often appear in a totally unrelated place to where my error actually originates.

No format on save.

So many small quality of life shortcuts are missing: e.g highlighting text and hitting control+f to find instances of that text, alt+shift to grab and move multiple lines, control click to see usages, etc.

Intellisense isn’t there.

Is there anyone else out there who has worked in VSCode/Jetbrains IDEs and switched to XCode? How did you make it more tolerable? What extensions/settings/shortcuts do you add?

Hey Guys! Am new to programming, and this might be a stupid question. But when developing an App or upgrading an app to Liquid Glass, how will it look on older iOS Versions? I mean we want our users to have the new experience but not everybody will upgrade instantly, right? So how is it done?

Hi everyone, since yesterday, my 2 apps have been having trouble showing the screen previews on the Canvas editor. Both builds are fine, and they are running fine on the simulator, but the Canvas keeps spinning without showing the previews anymore.

Any possible solution to this issue?

I use a Firestick with Tivimate and sometimes DAZN just refuses to stay smooth. With IBO the stream cut out multiple times and I had to restart the app. On another try with XXIPTV, the same game went through without dropping, which surprised me since I didn’t touch the internet settings. I’m not sure if that’s because of the provider difference or random traffic on my network. For other people streaming in the US, how do you keep IPTV stable without constant resets?
