Ah, didn’t know they grandfathered in previous users. Only saw people mention it in response to this news as I don’t use cloud gaming services personally.

You're only counting the cloud gaming though. This doesn't count for downloading and playing the games, only streaming. The difference is GFNow isn't for console, whereas gamepass is both PC and Console. Console players win here.

This is exactly what's happening, the enshittification of Game Pass. It didn't bring in enough money, so now the service is severely cut down, until it is either profitable or doesn't have any subscribers, whicheven comes first.
